I just saw one of those books at a Card show last weekend! Thanks for giving us a tour of the book, super interesting! Thanks for sharing and keep on rocking!
No way! That’s awesome - do you happen to remember the year? I’m curious what they were asking for it? Not sure of the current value… I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Nice presentation, Tom! You are rising star. Love the history you show and discuss. My grandfather was born in 1888 and I watched many games on TV with him in the '60's. What a beautiful piece. A museum treasure. Thanks for taking us back to the 19th century. Well done. Take care, Rob.
Thanks for the encouraging comment, Rob! I’m glad that you enjoyed and found something nostalgic about it. I’m still trying to find my groove with these videos. I’m not savvy with cuts and edits yet, so it’s usually all in one take. Thanks again!
You are doing great, Tom. I can barely turn the computer on and off. I definitely need to improve, but as long as we're all having fun, mission accomplished. Enjoy Super Bowl Sunday.
Tom, Love the pre-war and early stuff! Love the R&S card, i have been wanting to add one to my collection for a while now. Keep up the AWESOME work!!! Dave
Thank you! I really enjoy the 19th century stuff as well, but I typically can’t afford the real players so I resort to the baseball related trade cards. I happened to stumble across a seller that listed a Victorian scrapbook, noticed this diecut on one of the pages, and negotiated with him to sell me the single page with this R&S. I have a few other generic 19th century baseball diecuts that I’ll probably do a video on soon. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
Cool pieces, Tom. The book is really nice. Love the artwork on the front and back covers. Great shape to be that old.The card is neat. Hope the grading goes well.
Thanks, Ken - I was really happy to pick this guide up in this condition. I don’t expect more than a 1 with the diecut - but it does have great eye appeal. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome - thanks for the sub! I’m glad you enjoyed the content! I’m still trying to find my groove making these videos, but I really appreciate you watching and commenting!
Thanks Warren! Aside from the condition - that was one of the big draws to this particular year. It’s the only way for me to get a 19th century baseball player in my collection lol
Hi Tom! Thanks so much for the shoutout! That Reach’s Baseball Guide is fantastic! Such beautiful artwork on the front and back covers! Cool info about Reach too, I had never heard of him! I’m a huge fan of vintage sports literature! So much fun to read and look through!
These are definitely cool additions to the collection. It’s an affordable way to add some 19th century baseball without breaking the banking - which is why I love the 1800s baseball trade cards as well! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome Scrapp’s card but wow, that guide is just so cool. Thanks for taking it out and sharing it with us so we could get a glimpse. What a baseball artifact! Loving the channel, Tom! 👊😃
Thanks Shane! I’m glad you enjoyed! I thought it was kind of funny that this video incorporated 2 things from your last countdown video - Comiskey and the Scrapp’s card! I definitely feel fortunate to have such a nice copy of this guide. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
That is a really nice book. The condition is great. Every time I look for those they're in rough shape like you said. I have some but they're from the 20s and 30s. I will say i do have a few Reach gloves from the early 1900s. Thanks for sharing awesome piece
Yeah, I felt really fortunate to snag this one when I did. And I got it for a fraction of what the poor condition ones go for now. I would love to have a turn of the century glove - that’s a pretty cool item. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you, Scott - I really appreciate you commenting. I don’t agree with using chemicals, but I’m not opposed to using water. 90% of our 19th century cards would still be in albums if it wasn’t for soaking. I guess some people just want to eat the hotdog, but not know how it’s made - RELEASE THOSE BEAUTIES!
Thanks George! Yeah, it’s one of the nicer ones from that year that I’ve seen in a while. I was thrilled when I got it. That Scrapp card was actually one of the more difficult cards I’ve ever removed. I got nervous when I couldn’t get it to release in the typical amount of time it usually takes. It was soaked way longer than any other card I’ve done. It didn’t help that it appeared to be glued multiple times and the paper stock that it was attached to was super thick. I appreaciate you watching and commenting.
Very cool thanks for sharing

@@Collector.Not.Hoarder I don't, but I am planning on going back to that show in March, so I will pay better attention if that seller is there again!

Beautiful example of an early Reach guide. Thanks for showing
Thank you, Peter - this was an affordable way to get some 19th century HOF baseball players into my collection. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice items, really great condition. I have no problem soaking glue off the backs of the old cards.

That Reach Guide is awesome. It is in wonderful shape too. Nice Scrap card. You did a nice job removing it from the album. Thanks for the display.
