I am quite stunned at the extent of negative comments on a review of a seriously well build and good looking watch and the amount of watch snobbery. I don’t care one bit where a watch is made or the brand name or the history of a brand . I trust Peter’s judgement when comparing watches to the ones he has personal experience with. Pitzmann released a great watch at a great price and one should give them the respect they deserve.
I think it comes down to people maybe not knowing me and my viewpoint, so thus some of the negativity I did approach this review with considerable zeal as I feel the watch is really well built and executed nicely as you said, but sometimes people read things into situations that don't exist Whatever the case, the watch is pretty impressive for a sub $1000 unit..and its still on my wrist as I type this reply Thanks for sharing Frank 👍
Also people get weird when you compare an affordable watch to their $6000 watch. That's something that will not change. But he's doing a great job. Let's help him get the view he deserves.
Well said Frank! There is nothing I hate more than watch snobbery. If people don’t like the watch it’s simple, don’t bloody buy it and keep your snobbery in check! I’ve been watching Pete’s channel for months now and he calls it as he sees it. I like the watch, it has an excellent movement and the price is super reasonable.
It really is Britt, I am still wearing this many days after the review. Its like a daily AT without the high cost of scratching it up when Im on the tools 😊
Any watch without a date function gets a fair go with me. Add in a good movement, great build and finishing and a handsome/ smart design and it's a winning formula 👍.
this is a microbrand, I had one by myself, what I can say it this watches is value for the money, its quality is reach to Grand Seiko and Omega even, but price is quite low, a good deal.
Love my pitzmann first, this second one is looking pretty good! Especially the high polished indices. I agree about pitzmann crowns, I wish they were a touch larger and grippier, it's not as easy to wind and set the time. You're right about the bezel - it does remind me a bit of my ball enterprise

Im not generally a micro brand fan, but the overall quality of this , is fantastic for the money. companies like omega , rolex and tudor , seem set on increasing the prices on their watches , at an alarming rate, without much improvement on their models. I know microbrands don't spend as much on advertising etc, but it does make you think , are you just paying for a name ? Great video as always peter.
If this watch brand follows the evolution of Korean car manufacturing then I can't wait to see future releases from Pitzmann. Hopefully a quality robust tool watch built to take some beating 🙏 Awesome watches 👍
Beautiful watch! Pitzmann is on the right path. I think we will see more Korean brands in the near future and it's good. Thank you for another great review. 👍
Some of these micro brands offer outstanding value for money and there will always be a market for well made watches like this. However, the fact they are made in Asia not Switzerland ensures they will always be overlooked by watch snobs, regardless of the quality
I loved the first Pitzmann; it was a looker and much different from this second version. I like that they have a completely new design and find that this one is more of a daily wear vs their first version. I’d jump on this one w/o any hesitation vs the previous version. Great execution. Thanks for sharing!
I like that they've tried to incorporate Korean design heritage into the case design, but that approach should extend into the branding IMO. It'd be much better to go with a Korean name than a knock-off Swiss sounding one
I was curious myself, about the name. I could not find anything on their website regarding it. I'd rather have a real Korean name as well, it just would go better with theme of the watch.
Interesting brand and another great new design. As personally I like any company that produces uncluttered classical watch dials .... without all the visual fuss and needless clutter of day!date complications etc.
Looks nice, a bit of a similar vibe to Christopher Ward but way nicer indicies. I feel like semi-skeleton hands something like Omega or Zenith would fit this one perfectly, also would love date on this

Great looking watch, wish they came out with a red or other bright color. Want something abit more fun for the upcoming spring an summer. The price is fair at $1000US.
I wasn't too into this until you showed the price. That watch is absolutely worth that price. I'm not a huge fan of that dial, the grey is much more interesting to me and the case is awesome, reminds me of a Ming or FPJ, great lugs. Honestly I was expecting closer to $2k, easily. Give an AT a run for its money though? No.
??????????!!! Please justify this comment. How is it "worth that price"? The dial is the only part of this watch this company produces. And we aren't even sure they do.
Very good review as always, well done Pete. Ignore the watch snobs and their silly negativity/snobbery, they’re not true enthusiasts, their loss mate. For me if it had a date complication at the 6 position, I would seriously consider having one. 👍👍👍
Sign my skinny wrist up for a 36mm version of this. I've got 3 or 4 watches I could see this replacing - would love an excuse to size down. As it stands though, I can see this watch eating Christopher Ward's lunch and drawing people away from, say, Tudor. Love a second release that improves on a brand's potential - a proper Terminator 2!
I don't get why people think this watch is over priced. If any of the big brands made this it would be 2 or 3 times the price. Even if Pitzmann isn't manufacturing themselves these not some generic parts. The markers are fantastic. And the case and bezel look very nice. You don't see bezels like that.
I agree about the double-dome, disagree about the crown. If it were smaller the watch would look more "delicate". Very nice looking watch! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Should we expect more colour choices anytime soon?
From the images on their website I have to say NO. However having this in the hand and experiencing it all week, I have no reservations for a big YES. Great watch, but I'd say it competes more with Ball and Longines rather than Omega; glad to see the SW300 instead of the ubiquitous SW200. As with the previous model, it's a shade too expensive in my opinion. I would like to see it on sale for $750-800 and then it would be a strong competitor - it does look very 'Ball like', perhaps with even better finishing.
Certainly no Omega but a fair price for a solid looking watch in 2023, especially considering recent hikes in labour/material (and everything else) costs.
Beautiful watch. I like it. I am not a watch snob, as my current and previous watches are by Timex. Did I miss seeing the price? No matter, I probably couldn't afford it anyway. Did I mention that I think this is a beautiful watch? Yes, of course I did.
@@PeterKotsa perfect!!! My apologies. You actually wrote it in the description I saw later. Should have looked closer first. And also watched their video you linked. I’m intrigued !!
Very nice watch. The only thing I don't like are the hands: the hour and minute hands look too similar, especially when they line up in a row like at 5:49; and they look clunky. I'd prefer a sharper sword design, like in some Grand Seikos. I realize they're trying to make the hands mirror the hour marker indices, but you get that problem again when they line up and everything looks too similar. As noted by others, it bears this similarity with Ball watches, which also look clunky to me. I also recall the SW-300 has a date complication. Does that mean this watch has a "ghost" crown setting for the date function that doesn't exist?
Thanks, Peter, for bringing this brand to my attention. I find the design quite cohesive and mature. A question about the lume if I may ... if fully charged just before sleep, do you think it would maintain 6 hours of visibility to dark-adjusted eyes? That's my criteria for acceptance. Love your balanced reviews. 👍
Could you do a comparison video of the Seiko Alpinist and Pitzmann II? FYI, I'm about to receive my Pitzmann III ice blue dial which I ordered after watching your review.
Fantastic looking watch 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻.. maybe female endlink and choice of choosing with date at six a clock? It’s a pitty that brands just does them without date, depressing ☺️
The watch case is beautiful, no question about it. But the dial dies not impress me as I'm not a fan of the raised concentric circle section. In my eyes this doesn't look all that fancy.
I’m not a massive fan of this type of watch, except the Omega Aqua Terra which is a great watch. However, I like the look of this too, particularly the blue one on their website. Seems a bit pricey for what it is but still a nice watch. With regards to owning micro brands, I like to have a balance. Sometimes it is nice to know when you go somewhere you have a watch on no one else will have. Micro brands give you that exclusivity that you cannot always get from the likes of Omega, Tudor etc etc 👍
I’m not sure what to think off this, I love the dial but I would prefer a date. It looks really good on the green rubber strap. There are a few negatives, the bracelet doesn’t look great and the lugs look huge when it’s fitted. The worst part of the aqua terra is the clasp and bracelet, it might be fine for people that like to wear their watches loose but I could not buy one as it would annoy me to have to bin the bracelet. I don’t know why Pitzman or anyone would make something as flawed. Also the shape of the case is a little clumsy. It’s an impressive second watch but it’s quite pricey but I’m willing to try it for free.
A Korean watch? I have a bunch of Japanese watches. I got a Chinese watch. I feel like I should get a Korean watch just to complete the North East Asia trifecta. Does anyone have experiences with the warranty support and whatnot? It uses a SW-300, so I don't think the service will be an issue, but the warranty support may be.
@@jonathanyng It's great so far. I love the fact that it's so loud and proud of being a Chinese watch. I'm not Chinese but love to show off the Chinese characters that took me forever to decipher. =)
Reminds me of an OP41 but with personality. I think I'd prefer a microadjustment on the bracelet, but I've been spoiled there. Beyond that - damn good looking watch.
Omega designs always seem to have a hard time completely winning me over. To have something approaching their quality in finish and refinement wearing it with design cues I'm immediately more interested in means this has made my 'to watch' watch list instantly. Of course it might seem easily done to incorporate a few subtle cultural elements to make one's microbrand design stand out, but it's rare to see it succeed to such balanced results. It helps I'm also convinced of the upgrade the SW300 offers over the SW200 that so many use. I wish more would opt for the SW300, especially now that they've upgrades the power reserve. The video you linked to explaining the process of designing and the finishes chosen in such detail is simply exemplary. All serious microbrands should attempt this. To clarify, the one you've shown is the production versio and now the prototype they used in their video? And as a matter of detail: the slope towards the inner dial of the markers, is that a simple diagonal bevel also also a rounded concave giwa shape? The price (pre import, presumably) is not something I'd spend so easily, but yes, I can imagine one finding its way onto my wrist one day. My negatives, for balance, include a brand name that while seemingly inoffensive just doesn't have a nice ring to it somehow, and a latent fear that perhaps it's not exciting enough... but then the subtleties seem to be exactly the point of this design.
I discovered your channel only recently and I must admit that I really like watching your reviews. Thanks for doing this! Nice review, beautiful watch from an interesting brand. One question, though: You show the watch on a green FKM strap, which seems to fit perfectly. Since Wise has two green straps on offer, I have been wondering, which color it is (P4 - green or P6 Army green). I would imagine that this might be a useful info for everybody who falls in love with that combination ;-)
I actually prefer the previous Pitzmann to this one ... this has definite Aqua Terra vibes, good specs but the rings on the dial make it a no for me ... just a personal style preference of course.
Yes great watch and the quality will provide value to someone who's looking for watch to keep and love. What's going on with the end links? Are they male? Seems to upset the look to me and obvs must kill the L2L.
I get that Omega in the title would bring more views but a comparison to Christopher Ward C63 would be farer as they are in the same price category and people shopping for one of these is more likely to have a look at the other.

Your'e right, my oversight. It's the P4 shown in this video
Also thank you for the nice compliments 🙏
0:28 keyword "almost" took all the fun away 😜
well spotted..for $999 it was always going to be an almost 😊
I actually prefer the previous Pitzmann to this one ... this has definite Aqua Terra vibes, good specs but the rings on the dial make it a no for me ... just a personal style preference of course.
This piece reminders me of Omega De Ville Hour Vision instead.😜
Nice review anyway
looks awesome on the strap. Great review. Being eyeing Pitzmann indeed. Terrible website though lol
Looks nice. How much?
*...buena pregunta...*
Its in the review I mentioned it and displayed it...$999
Yes great watch and the quality will provide value to someone who's looking for watch to keep and love. What's going on with the end links? Are they male? Seems to upset the look to me and obvs must kill the L2L.
Yes they are male
Increases l2l to 49mm Still manageable 👍
@@PeterKotsa Thanks. But skinny wrist guys and girls get interested at 38/39mm case but when the L2L goes 46mm+ it's game over.
Does it have a phantom date? - ie an intermediate crown position? I assume it doesn't as the Sellita SW-300 is available as a no date version.
No ghost position on this one 👍
I get that Omega in the title would bring more views but a comparison to Christopher Ward C63 would be farer as they are in the same price category and people shopping for one of these is more likely to have a look at the other.
