Sad to see that new releases are treated like in League of Legends or Call of Duty. It´s op, get´s nerfed and is than useless till the next op release.
If I could, I'd give you 2 thumbs up, just for the bloopers. I know how tough it is sometimes, just to wrap it up! Make one very good conclusion video and re-use it for all. I don't mind. The most important part I guess is the middle content...the race. Keep up the good work mate. Cheers!

These new car releases being OP is a joke. I just dropped you a tweet with some more info... No way this new car on a hot track, fixed set should beat the old car's all time world record set on a cold track. Especially when during the Nurb 24 the old M4 GT4 was already OP, even with a bop (trust me, we took a Cayman to the N24, 2nd split, and the old BMW were still too fast even with bop). You did really well to get that result in a McLaren 🎉

You can see it in the setup, the BMW is -2 wing and the others are full wing. Or someone said something like that on the forums (I can be wrong)
@@ZanicL3 certainly explains speed on the straight v the other GT4 cars, but can't explain the difference between the lap time in this race and in the old car with proper setups in better conditions etc. let's see what it's like on other tracks!
I thought it felt a bit fast on the straight. I run the BMW GT3 GTP GTE and the GT4 just because I felt it easier to keep things in one brand tho
The nords still terrifies me Daveo, but you've made me want to try it in the GT4.

While there are "OP" cars. This can easily be overcome by competence and experience.
Just because this particular car is faster doesn't mean it has a skilled driver.
If anyone reading this is below 3k, the BOP does not apply to you. Its far more advantageous to learn and master a particular car in the car class rather than chasing hot laps in this weeks fastest car. Same goes for setups.
Where the BOP and setups actually apply is once you hit a split 4.5k or above in officials. Even then, mastering your favorite car will still put you up near the front end.
I used to get discouraged by the BOP until i realized that I needed to fix my own mistakes and pick a car to stick with.
I don't think I have the best argument here but what about the people who are actually alright in the car they chose but keep getting clobbered because sportscar drivers seem to not use their brains at all, because I am below 1.5k sportscars and have had no issues keeping up in terms of speed with the 3k crowd. I found out I was fast enough during the iTested week 13 race.
@mbgmadbull1141 I would say don't get discouraged and always seek improvement. Analyze the way you drive and try to find ways you could have increased your odds of survival. If you can compete with 3k drivers but you're getting wrecked. That tells me a few things. One is that you're inviting the chaos. You show these idiots a car width. They take two. If you see a dive coming and want to defend, defend to the inside as much as you can without compromising minimum speeds. Another is that you need to get better. Practice. Practice. Practice. They can't wreck you if they're too far back. You need to take every measure for yourself to prevent the possibility of a wreck. I used to be the same way. 3k pace in 1.5k splits. This past season, I went from 1750 to 3635, and I'm competing with drivers double my iR. Then again, my intention is to become a pro someday, so I'm a little more dedicated than most. Once you step back and analyze what you're doing wrong, you'll better understand what you can do better.
If you want to see some hotlaps, watch my channel. I don't do stuff like dave, though. I mostly hotlap. But if you want something to compare yourself to then my channel is fir you. Most videos are less than 5 minutes
@@sneekibreeki8162 I just hope that I can reach 3k splits soon. recently hit 2k ovals and have been working towards just grinding the IR needed to get better splits. it sucks because I am chonically unlucky to the point you would think I pissed off a witch or something man, it's funny at times tho.
but real talk I think I could hold my own against at least a 4k ir average across the paved stuff, dirt I would be 2k easy.
I know my skill level but just can't get the luck needed to get there, lucky and good something something I have one not the other. otherwise I shall keep my nose to the grindstone and enjoy the moments where I can get good results and hope for the best.
I've just bought it tonight, but the ONLY reason is the same reason that I bought the other one, and that's because out of all the GT4's it is featured in the most series'.
I can't afford to be chucking money at pixels on a screen, plus I don't have any money due to my 3 teenage kids, so I have to be frugal.

It does have to said, when the top 12 grid positions are the new BMW it does look like the BOP is very favourable to that car, it's a little on the nose, there's no way to know for sure but I don't believe it's sheer coincidence.
Also, it's day 562, Dave still needs to turn off the auto wipers.

I ran the merc yesterday, finished p6 behind 5 BMWs. They would just pull away on the straights. Even drafting them they would pull away on me.

@@117simracing8 there was a lot of disagreement to Dave's point of view on who was at fault for some contact that was made during one of his pass attempts.
It even resulted in him making another video explaining his reasoning.

Been driving the mclaren around here every day this week and it feels excellent to drive as usual, but it seems there’s really nothing you can do against the BMW’s on the straights.

was closely behind it in slipstream for the whole 2km of dottinger hohe and didn't gain anything on it not even an inch (in the AMG). I hope they fill their $ quota then add 100kg ballast to it.
The G82 is a joke in the straight line. You gain nothing in stripline with a merc. Was 1.9 secs ahead of g82 and he was over 17km/h faster after Bilstein bridge, I even had the better exit galgenkopf
Double green top 10 finish with 0x is a great result Dave.
I did a couple last season in the MX-5 and TCR which were great fun, so I may try again this season. 👍

Can't call me a sheep because I only drive BMW if it's in the series, didn't mind having to replace the last one though. So...I just had a "perfect race" in the new BMW, I'm, as you say, miles off the sharp end of the Ring times but I'm happy with an :08.68 as a 1.7k driver. Come to think of it, all my "perfect races" are on Ring Meister.
so after doing a few ring meisters in the new bimmer I can confirm it isn't OP per se but it does boil down to a problem with how BOP is handled. doing the iTested race I was hauling ass but the BMW GT4 was and is super fragile still. I think once they do a proper BOP then it should be fine but I don't know if they have people working on that or not, would be nice to know if they have enough data but I can only speculate what the problem is, forums say BOP I think fun factor plays a part. dunno what it is tho

It's not cheating if you dint have VR. You dont see a halo blocking your view in real life because you see in 3d, aka can see through it essentially.

It’s 100% faster than the other GT4 offerings. my theory is that the car manufacturer pays the devs more money to make the car better, or IRacing could have just made a mistake with the balancing of the car compared to the others.

At 05:05 I noticed that you had a 'micro-pause'. Have you noticed these happening more frequently since the recent update?
I race in VR, using a Pimax Crystal Light, my system has a 4090 with a 13900k CPU, and the pauses are literally every few minutes, this never happened before the update. I've never 'died' so much, my irating is taking a bit of a bashing 😂
I have a Quest 3 - 4070 Ti S 7800x3d and I don't have those kind of mini freezes for info

I drove bmw in prior seasons and will drive in in this, I just like this car the most out of the gt4s, be it the old or new version.

Ridiculous... I have been using the McLaren every time there is a GT4 option or it is available on Nords. I am not fast by any means. 7:13 flat is my best but I did two laps in the BMW just now for shits and grins and was down to 7.10 and that was with a mistake on the carousel.... I'll still drive the McLaren because I love that car but just resign myself to the fact that as long as there are 15 Beemas in front of me the best I can hope for is 15th.
I get the bmw might be op and it’s a sheep car but I would like to see you race it at least once.

Huh? Nords is the hardest track in the world... just because Dave got 0 incident points doesn't mean that it's easier than other tracks. You'll probably get more incident points on nords than any track in the sim.
@@JTheraos A good portion of my races on the Ring are less than 5 incident points and I'm nothing special. The thing is, even with 3 or 4 incident point as a D driver you'll gain significant SR due to the number of corners in the race.
How do you get where there is no border when you bring up race labs mine shows the stuff on the bottom of my screen on my task bar

Yeah, everybody use this car... At ITESTING in my split we had only one GT4 that was not new M4...
might not be great in a straight line but i find it pushes like a bulldozer, but you look like you like push.
I'm impressed how iRacing can make one of the most crazy tracks in the world, so boring 😴
If it's boring, it's the drivers not the track.
