I own a 2018 1025r and my tractor inspires me to work in my yard every night I have the chance. I work 10 hours a day, five days a week (even through the COVID-19) and I have "small" projects I set myself up for each night. moving skids filled with fire wood, moving the tree I cut down, pulling a bush out, filling in the hole the bush left when I pulled it out. I'm not afraid of shovel work, but owning a sub compact tractor inspires me, on a daily basis, to tackle projects and get things done in my yard. This is just two cents from a very happy sub-compact tractor owner. Also, love the videos from GoodWorksTractors. When I'm not moving dirt or firewood with my "little" tractor, I'm watching GoodWorksTractor videos on RUclips. Keep up the good work. Happy subscriber here. Cheers from southern Ohio!
Smart use of inheritance money (from my mother), not just "blowing it" on something frivolous or fleeting, but "investing it" into something that will serve us well (especially to take care of the land we inherited from her father) for the rest of our lives -- that was the "win-win" bottom line for us. Now, if only there wasn't this guy on RUclips that made such compelling arguments for buying this implement and that tool (etc.). Oh, wait -- that would be... never mind! 🤣 (Excited for my new implements coming soon from GWT!)
Total body saver and major time saver for tree clearing even using just pallet forks. One major attachment I love is my heavy duty stump bucket. I use it as a stump bucket or a poor mans trenching tool.
The biggest justification for me for buying a SCUT was driveway maintenance. Not just to save money -- because really, $22 grand will grade my driveways many, many times -- but the fact that it got to where I could not GET anyone to come do the work. It has gotten SO hard to find people who are willing to work and are reliable. So I bought a tractor to do that -- and help my local friends do that. But once I had it WOW, I found so many ways for it to make my life easier, digging, lifting, moving, carrying, pulling, loading/unloading. I don't have a large food plot and in Tennessee I don't have much snow to deal with. But many people in the discussion forums do. This tractor is the BEST tool investment I've ever made.
It was easy here - 5A site, 4A of actual lawn, with 200'+ paved driveway and no trees to stop the snow blowing/drifting in.. Plus, a garden that's about 60X120 AND another 100' gravel drive from the pole shed makes having a tractor around a total necessity.. I use a '15 JD 3039R with tiller, snow blower, 72" Woods finishing mower, H165 FEL, back blade, box blade, 60" brush mower etc... I use it nearly every day and wouldn't be without it.
Great video...we've owned tractors for almost 40 yrs. During that time we have owned from 3- 200 acres and although I currently put less that 100 hrs on my 4720 per year, it is invaluable as to what it can accomplish for me. I too have sold Green tractors for more than I have paid for them, after years of service. As the years pass, I realize how much the tractor is able to accomplish and help me with projects weekly. Great channel.....thanks for all the advice. Bob
Thanks for helping me make a decision on configuring my purchase of a 1023e. This was very helpful. I am so excited to be stepping up to this unit from our 16 year old JD LT160. Wore it out on 4 acres.
You should make a episode that a guy could show his wife that justifies the purchase of a tractor. I'm sure it would become one of your most viewed and might even sell a tractor or two for you.
Just have the wife help you break your back, doing the work by hand. Just one day and she will figure out a tractor is necessary! I know from experience, worked for me. . .
As a matter of fact, I just did the figures last night. I've just completed the first 20 hours on my JD 2025 R yesterday. After factoring my payment, fuel and maintenance ($340.00 per month roughly), I saved over $1,300.00 my 1st month of ownership compared to if I hired someone to do all the work I've done. This is based only off the hours on the machine only. Add in my hours of manual labor (e.g. weed wacking, hand planting, lite trimming etc. items the tractor doesn't do.) I'm saving lots. I'd never pay what I'm saving for someone else to do. Couldn't afford it anyway. 🚜..................
Used pallet forks to pick up my router table so I could change the casters without getting up and down from the floor. Once you have the equipment there are always different uses.
Something I didn't see talked about. I have a lawn mower, and the cost to maintain the mower was rather high because parts kept breaking. I got a tractor and interestingly the parts just don't break, It takes half the time for me to mow with the tractor. Definitely get a FEL, I paid for my central AC by bartering services moving dirt and leveling for a hvac neighbor .
That's not the 1st time Ive heard that. That tractor parts last much longer than mower parts. I know I bought a used brush hog for 50 bucks, and it has to be at least 40 years old, looks more like 50 or 60, yet, works like a charm.
Our 1025r has helped us so much for the past 15 years! There was one time where we needed to grade a sort of hill and since we had a three point hitch, we just borrowed our friend’s five food blade. I had so much fun doing it!
Let's not forget the other uses of the loader like pulling an engine from a vehicle and doing a body swap on that custom hot rod! Lifting and moving furniture and appliances. Home projects like roofing. Lifting materials to the roof. I used my loader to install my RV air conditioning unit.
Yup . Five years ago, it took me 25 years to make that list to convince my wife to get a tractor. Soon after having purchased the tractor and putting it to work, my wife said, "we should have gotten this 25 years ago". In just a few weeks the 1025r will be physically paid off. That said, fiscally, the 1025r has already paid for itself and then some.
more so than cars yes, but price out a brand new JD vs a 2 yr old one with 100 hours.....as i was typing this GWT agreed with me haha. NEW tractors are a LUXURY and average people can't afford that luxury tax. the comment at 1:45 is SPOT ON!! let some wealthy person take that hit and then come along and buy their almost new tractor at a great price. maybe from someone like GWTs hah.
Without a doubt, one of the best investments a person can make. First suggestion would be to purchase when young, my body would not be in it's current shape if I'd of had a tractor back then. And, when age sets in, your tractor will allow you to keep doing what needs to be done without needing to pay somebody to do it. Front end loader is a must. Haul firewood, trash, dirt, sacks of fertilizer to the garden, move anything that's heavy. I've hauled refrigerators, washing machines, car engines and such items that we can't muscle into the back of a pickup anymore. We're both approaching 70, & we use ours every day. Pallet forks are a must. In our auto repair business, we replace many in-tank fuel pumps. On pickups, we remove the bed bolts on the driver's side, & loosen the passenger side bolts. Slide the forks between the bed & frame, pick up the bed with the front end loader, there's the pump. 30 minute job, easy peazey. So many uses, wish we'd of got it 40 years ago.....
The first used tractor i bought was a one owner Massey Ferguson 135, it had 4100 hours on it leaked oil, had to replace power steering hoses, and the brakes were not that good. But she ran good.
That's my problem. I retired last year and and own a JD A, B, 730D, 40, 755, and and a x530 mower. I have 8 acres with hills so a 4x4 is a must. I would like something with a bucket and a cab because my grandchildren love tractor rides. What do I trade or sell? Putting a loader on my 20 hp 755 costs $4000 and I'm concerned what it might do to it!
I had a big project, widening the driveway "ramp" across the swag. Contractor wanted half the price of a new John Deere 1023E, $8k. Now, I have my new 1023E and I made the project bigger, better, and to my liking. The concrete tile and fill dirt cost less than a grand. AND, AND, AND there are so many times and ways that tractor has helped, I don't see how I have lived this long without one. From maintaining my driveways, to my wife lifting me up in the bucket to clean the gutters or change lighting, to pulling up stumps, brush removal, ... yeah, long list. Big time force multiplier!!! Can't live without one now. Worth every penny!!!
Actually my doctor recommended that I get a tractor, as the work I was doing around the place was taking a big toll on my aging body. When asked recently what one thing she regretted not doing earlier in life, my wife responded, "buying a tractor". We use the loader all the time and much of what I once did by hand is now done more quickly using the tractor. The only down side seems to be that I don't rent equipment to do specialized tasks--such as an excavator--when I should and try to do every job using the tractor on hand.
Renting a small excavator (6-12,000lb) while also having a tractor with a grapple you could get so much stuff done. I rented a 6,000lb bobcat for a week for a thousand bucks. I'll do it again after I put some hours on whichever tractor I end up with.
My entire life i have been around the old JD 2cylinder tractors. My gramps owned what is now mine. He pulled the kids then grands on a tabogon in the winters and plowed the a really long driveway and worked up the garden and ran a buzz rig off the belt. Dad had an A till gramps had to move from the farm ground and mom n dad bought the 520 from gramps. We cut firewood and use the tractor to haul it and you get your vechicle stuck on your property or near home dont call a wrecker yank it out yourself. I take the tractor to 3 local demo derbies and haul wrecks out and then 1 tractor show a year that all 3 generations have been too
Missing Disc in my back has justified mine. It lifts all..... Anthracite Coal to raised Garden... plows snow.. Somehow you Always want a bigger one though...?? :P
I cant tell you how many tons of rock I have shoveled by hand. 6 to 9 inch rock also. REALLY SUCKS! I so need a tractor. When I bought my zero turn it saved me 6 hours a week in mowing time.
We bought our 5075E for the “farm” and it’s all kitted up. We just bought the wife a 2025R loaded up. If we could figure out how to use it in the kitchen we would. “Honey I cant reach the top shelf” no problem I’ll put the pallet forks on.
I tell people it’s a tool, not a toy. Lol. If you have property, you’ll use it for more than you’d think. I use my forks just as much as my bucket. I wish I could’ve afforded a tractor years ago.
@@GoodWorksTractors We recently installed a 3rd function front hydraulic valve and bought a grapple. Besides my forks its definitely the best attachment so far. My wife loves it, no more dragging cedar!
My justification is to see the neighbors' faces when I drive the new 4052R tractor home from the barn (10 mins away) with the inverted blower on the back to clear my 100 ft driveway! 🤪🤣🤪🤣🤪🤣👍💪
Thats so true about a front end loader. I just bought my 1st tractor last summer, and an older friend told me to absolutely get the front end loader with it. After having used my tractor all last summer, I will say he was right. I think next I will get pallet forks. . .
The only justification that I needed was understanding the average male lifespan in the United States. What do you want to do with your life? Why wait? Nobody is promised tomorrow. I'm not saying do something foolish but if you have the urge to get a tractor start a business or just have it for your personal use just do it. Absolutely without a doubt just do it. Nobody has promised tomorrow live your life right now. Now everybody be safe out there.
Merry Christmas. I have a question there is a Ford 8340 4 × 4 but there is a problem with the hydraulic pump First according to add the Wheels 70% 4 × 4 Not working Could be pump delay or Solonid is it a good deal or not is it easy to fix any advice
would you have the means to do a comparison of a new $50K 50hp compact to a late model/used $50K 74 hp skid steer? would be a cool colab with a land scape/snow removal channel.
A tractor purchase is justified because it’s immediately tax deductible in Australia plus in the farming I’m getting into, right now they are harvesting over $15K of nuts in two days.
Don't forget to tell her that you can use a tractor to move your Bass Boat and Camping Trailer around so she won't have to help you guide it in when you move them with the truck.
Do you have the capability to add a backhoe to one of your used tractors that doesn't have it already or is that something that has to go through a dealer and isn't cost effective?
My first order of business, when I get it home is hiding it from my "heavy equipment operator/methhead" neighbor....... Because for f'n sure, he'll need to borrow it..
What is your opinion on massey ferguson gc1725mb. And what would you say is better. I'm stuck between a mf or a jd both are 25 hp with loader and backhoe
Me too. I have 7 acres myself. I tried to clear the land by hand for the first few years. Realised that was impossible, unless you're the warden of a prison and have access to a chain gang. Never again will I try such a superhuman endeavor.
After herniated a disc doing firewood, I'd made up my mind I was gonna by a tractor with a loader and if I had it to do again, I'd buy a used clean tractor, should've done abit more time into sizes, I bought one that was a great little tractor, but wasnt quite big enough to do all I wanted,so after 2 years,I traded it back to the Dealer, now I've got a 3039 R John Deere, a new one,but wish I bought a used one to begin, but not gonna cry now, love it,if I ever sell mine,in buying one from Good Works Tractor,
@@GoodWorksTractors The dealer that I baught the tractor from set me up with the insurance and I will use it for what I need to do then rent it out the rest of the time to help make the payments
Having some land that you tend is always a good excuse. There's economy in buying a good used tractor. We bought a 2000 JD 4600 with 1200 hours on it. Other than faded plastic its like new.
Honey I need this tractor because: 1. It is my reward for marrying the most beautiful woman in the world :) 2. Your Mother would want me to have it :) 3. My tractor is the only thing I pay monthly on that I don’t chirp about lol.
Haha, yeah, well worth it!
I wish, but neither in stock...could be a cool collab though!
Yep they last my jd 4200 has 3000 hours and is a 1999 model and I'm sure it will be still going in another 20 plus years
Thanks as always!
“Need 1/2 dozen more fruit trees honey? I can dig those holes in about an hour with that backhoe on the [BX|1025]”
Haha, only $1,000 per hole dug!
Open my own tractor dealer ship but doesn’t that mean I have to buy the tractors then sell them and also buy parts and stuff and keep them in stock
How much of the John deere tractor is made in America , and the attachments?. Who makes all the motors?
More than you think. Watch Tractor Time With Tim's John Deere factory tour.
Because you gotta keep up with the Smiths.
I got mine because I wanted one😛
A tractor purchase is justified because it’s immediately tax deductible in Australia plus in the farming I’m getting into, right now they are harvesting over $15K of nuts in two days.
Don't forget to tell her that you can use a tractor to move your Bass Boat and Camping Trailer around so she won't have to help you guide it in when you move them with the truck.
Ha, good point
dont know if i could offer words of wisdom to justify a tractor, but i for sure couldnt justify a zero turn mower.
I’ve tried to look at your wed page and I only see like 5 tractors and none like in this video?
Yeah, they are selling extremely fast right now. Hard to keep much in stock.
Good Works Tractors ok. I’m interested when you get stock.
Do you have the capability to add a backhoe to one of your used tractors that doesn't have it already or is that something that has to go through a dealer and isn't cost effective?
Yes, I have the local JD or Kubota dealer add them. Very expensive to do so, I don't think it's cost effective.
Do you sell lawn roller I am looking for a 72 inch
Yes I do, but local pick up only on those
getting a tractor is like having something better then your neighbor ( ha ha)
My first order of business, when I get it home is hiding it from my "heavy equipment operator/methhead" neighbor....... Because for f'n sure, he'll need to borrow it..
Haha, never fails!
With all the add-ons they are like Barbies for grown men.
What is your opinion on massey ferguson gc1725mb. And what would you say is better. I'm stuck between a mf or a jd both are 25 hp with loader and backhoe
I don't really have an opinion on the Massey
The Tractor brings you a tree farm!
That's what I'm talking about!
They gave it to me
6 acres is my justification
Works for me!
Me too. I have 7 acres myself. I tried to clear the land by hand for the first few years. Realised that was impossible, unless you're the warden of a prison and have access to a chain gang. Never again will I try such a superhuman endeavor.
After herniated a disc doing firewood, I'd made up my mind I was gonna by a tractor with a loader and if I had it to do again, I'd buy a used clean tractor, should've done abit more time into sizes, I bought one that was a great little tractor, but wasnt quite big enough to do all I wanted,so after 2 years,I traded it back to the Dealer, now I've got a 3039 R John Deere, a new one,but wish I bought a used one to begin, but not gonna cry now, love it,if I ever sell mine,in buying one from Good Works Tractor,
Ha, thanks George! Take care!
I'm starting a rental business
My insurance would be too high to rent. Can't justify it.
Nice! That's a great ol' series too
It ticked my ex off.
😂👍
It ticked off the Smiths
It’s a BOY TOY!
you only live once!!!!!!!!
Haha, no doubt!
Honey I need this tractor because:
1. It is my reward for marrying the most beautiful woman in the world :)
2. Your Mother would want me to have it :)
3. Look at all the work that I can do :)
4.I will be able to save so much time doing chores around the yard that I will be able to help more doing house work :)
5. I intend to name the tractor after you: see #1 :)
6. I will spend more time around the house and less golfing :)
You get the picture! Best wishes
Haha, now that's foolproof right there!

Mornin' Mark!
@@GoodWorksTractors Good Morning !! Hows things going ?
"If I drop $15K on a tractor then the accessories are only $1-2K each..." Oh wait, this is going the wrong way. Never mind, I WANT A TRACTOR!!
Haha, well you need to start out saying you were quoted $40,000, but then found a steal on a package deal at $19,999 :)
Bro stop walking forward
Can’t do it
