The showers over the cliff that you could feel the breeze & see the waves crashing under you is something I pray they bring back

This has been great to watch. Our family started going in the 90’s and every trip was a wonderful experience. My wife and her family started going in the 70’s. Her dad was Bill “Lefty” Allen. He continued to go into his late 70’s and enjoyed every trip! We look forward to the rebirth of Walker’s Cay!

I was able to go on a "Shark Rodeo" there about 16 years ago. We took off from Fort Lauderdale International Airport about Chalk's Airlines. Chalk's owned 5 De Havilland Seaplanes that were built back in probably 1945. The plane landed in the water just outside the marina. Then the pilot would lower the landing wheels and rev the motors to roll up the paved embankment and park the plane next to other small aircraft on the tarmac. From there we walked to the customs shed, which was the size of a ride on lawn mower shed, to pass immigration. Then we would walk the path to the hotel. Wonderful meals every night. We stayed the a week. Best memories. I truly hope they are successful in building a strong resort again. One that will withstand a Cat5.
