As a young man of color it is inspiring to hear the work of Ms. Walker. The complete determination and resilience she perpetuated to produce such a powerful message of people of colors influence on music is a call to action. As her words actively reflect the true impact of Coleridge’s works.
Thank you, Ms. Walker. This video and its history is so important to me that I am late going to bed to watch all of it (and back up to re-hear certain places). And thank you for your contribution to music, along with the composers whose music you played.
Frances Walker is one of many black women who should have had a major concert career in classical music. No one ever seems to question the total lack of black women on the instrumental concert stage except for singers. The classical music world is rife with racism, something never fully recognized or acknowledged.
I'm most inspired by her wisdom and strength to injure through out her musically talents against all the abusive racism she said a little white girl said to her mummy look at that cute or isnt that a cute monkey and her mother didn't rebuke the child to say that was insulting.

I think it is admirable that she decided to give her take on the music she was performing, she gave the music a whole different life.
This hidden story is interesting. we are all human and we should all shine!! no more discriminations!! Love it!

I think it's so important to tell black stories especially in music!! I can't wait to find the sheet music and explore my heritage through piano.

WONDERFUL! Authentic Americana at its best. Her TONE is magnificent. I'd LOVE to hear her Beethoven and Chopin.
