Why is this women so good at explaining? I swear everything I've learned in the cells unit of biology that made no sense became clear now. But I have a test tomorrow...
I cant believe 4 yrs already been past since covid 19 … its 2024 and i am watching this video for a better understanding abt cells , anyway u was studying the same thing as me 4 yrs ago ,,, idk what i mean by all this
This is like my tenth time watching these videos. They were introduced to me by my teacher in GCSE but now I am doing Btech and I still find it very useful. During test or exams, I hear the pleasant voice and I instantly remember what I am supposed to write.
Wonderful videos. They are so great at taking complex topics in biology and explaining them in a fun and easy to understand manner. I use them all the time in my class and the junior high's love them. I link them in the notes to help them study for exams. Thanks!
Hey, I just want to say, you are amazing, and I'd love to have you as *my* science teacher. It really helps to watch you guys. I've got final exams out so, better get studying! :D
Thank you so much!! It really means a lot to hear that we helped you. We hope you rock your exams! P.S. Petunia saw two of your other comments on our videos and they gave her a good laugh! :D
Just in time for our work with microscopes and plant cells in particular! I can't tell you how valuable your videos are in my teaching and learning practice!!
yet again, I am back and it's not a surprise to see that you two amoebas have done another amazing video. I am totally subscribing. good work Pinky. You too Petunia. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!"
Your welcome. Oh, and I just had one more question Amoeba sisters. Please may for your next video, could you do a video on the digestive system and the organs in the digestive system. because I recently had a question in biology, telling me to explain what happens to a piece of toast as it passes through the digestive system starting with the mouth start to finish.Thank you Amoeba sisters.
We will add that to our future list!! We still have quite a few more to cover before we can focus on specific body systems, but wow...we love the idea with starting with a piece of toast. Ha, we could have fun with that! :D
To be fair, the cells mentioned already have jobs, it's a little unfair to say that they can't follow their dreams when it's already too late. Stem cells can still have dreams!
Absolutely brilliant presentation! Well done. Let's just not kid ourselves that any of cells' complexity of function and structure could have happened without design, and that design process could ever be a chance-based process which natural selection simply takes the best of and - bingo! - somehow it all just happened over millions of years.
Love this. Bc for anyone learning biology, or anything for that #matter, its better to fully understand by studying in a simple ABC format prior to understanding the more advanced
Great video! I always love these kind of videos. But I have a question, what happens if a specialized cell becomes 'cancerous' and starts to grow exponentially, will those daughter cells have the same effect as the first specialized cell?
Thank you! And great question---if any of these specialized cells have defects and escape the regulation of the cell cycle (therefore not destroyed), all cells that originate from them from cell division will be identical and therefore have the same identical defects which can lead to cancerous growth. In this way, a tumor or mass of cancerous cells can form, potentially originating from that one cell. Cancer is often named from where it started---so skin cancer, for example, could start with a defective skin cell that started dividing out of control (giving rise to daughter cells that also had this identical property).
Hi Hi, I am a physics teacher assigned to teach bio at the lower secondary level. I want to say a huge thank you because your videos are a life saver and I learn alot from it. I have used your video to create lesson activities on Padlet for students to learn specialised cells and at the end, they have to pick a cell that best represent themselves. Here is the padlet I created base on your video: (removed link)
0:00 - Intro 0:26 - Specialized Cell Defined 0:36 - Animal and Plant Cells have Specialized Shapes 1:29 - Examples of Specialized Plant Cells (in Leaf Cross Section) 5:00 - Examples of Specialized Animal Cells 6:24 - Muscle Cell Examples Sorry, just thought I would break the video down in the comments too haha
Thank you so much, Paige! This video has a handout under "specialized cells" on www.amoebasisters.com/handouts.html, but it is one of our few "select" handouts that we sell since it covers an unique topic. The handout page will link it to the Teachers Pay Teachers site. Thanks so much for watching our videos :D
