- The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world. I explain why it has been leaning for hundreds of years. When I first came here in 1996, no one was allowed to climb to the top but this time I was. In addition to the Leaning Tower of PIsa, we also go inside the beautiful Pisa Cathedral, which is highly recommended.

My Grandfather fought in hand-to-hand combat at the top of the tower during WW2. Quite a wild story.
So amazing. 😮
amazing
At 4:36, it shows that there is indeed one higher level and at 4:46 there are ladders to climb to the very top but it was disallowed for tourists. I've seen tourist pictures of tourists standing at the very highest level. I hope tourists are able to go to the very top area again soon.
Climbing up to the top in 2020 like 👨🚀
About how long is the climb to the top? I'm claustrophobic so being stuck in that walkway is tough.
It's been a few years but I'm guessing it took us 20 minutes each way.
We missed the train to Florence because we had to adjust the time by one hour. So we bought the replica. 😍🤣🥰
No way! Why would I want to climb up in something that's about to fall? 😁😱😱
Great video.
Thanks! Don't worry-it probably won't fall for another 200 years.
