Damn Im crazy curious about how those phrases sound to native English speakers. And as a Russian native speaker I can tell you that Cooler's English is just Russian translated to Eng straight word by word. Im sure there's some linguistic term for that.
“I’m talking it” = “I’m telling you.” (Or similar) I’m impressed with all the effort cooller puts into communicating in a language he obviously doesn’t speak very well. You can tell he’s having trouble expressing his ideas, but he keeps trying. That’s not easy.
Yeah, I have no idea how sentences are constructed in russian, but it sounded like he was constructing a russian sentence in his head directly into english thats why it sounded weird. Thats like a Cooller meme at this point, the "Im talking it" bit haha. Love it.
Thank you for being so tolerant. Russian is my first language, and I think I will not be Captain Obvious if I say that Russians hardly speak any English in general. English is taught at school, but usually on a very low level. And most people don't ever care improving their English. What's funny is that many Cooller's fans think he speaks English very well. For real. Some even asked him in social media how to study English, how not to be afraid of speaking English. It's good that he is trying and not being shy. It's bad that he is being too much self-confident, direct and almost rude.
@@q3dqopb He appears rude, but he's not being rude intentionally. It's impossible to choose your words carefully, unless you've mastered the grammar and amassed a certain vocabulary. Even then, some intricacies of emotion, humor, and word play will forever remain out of your reach.
I remember I hooked the IEM Europe event to my tv and all my roommates watched live. They didn’t play quake but I can assure you they thoroughly enjoyed this interview.
Man I remember this interview. This was such a classic way to do a tournament: match, then immediate interview. I still remember this interview to this day it was so classic lol.
amazing interview, it was around this time i started watching quake, and watching this back now, this is just standard strenx and cooller, these guys are so stubborn and direct and i love it honestly.
god this interview is so funny :))) The level of english of each one is already fun , but comon asking the winner to give advice to the other one ??? imagine if djokovich was giving advice to federer after he lost a final ...?? What is that seriously , and both of them are so cocky haha
@@vladimirpotrosky7855 , basically, I think that Cooler is a little bit too arrogant to our Russian culture which is not that appreciated among us. ( I mean he could be a bit more humble so he would be concidered a very nice guy). But whatever it is most people stil love him as he's a great player.
@@auroranamex5886 Arrogant?? For a russian GAMER(!!!) I'd say he's the most humble dude you could possibliy find online. Not a single "Cyka Blyat idi nahui pederas" was dropped in this interview!!! It's almost disappointing.
@3Nex That's kind of what he meant, but he didn't mean strenx played very agressive, he meant that strenx plays way too aggressive all the the and he needs to play not aggressive at all in some situations.
This is like a kid who got into trouble having a meeting with his dad and teacher lol. "Why did you lose dm6 son? You were being too aggressive now weren't you?"
If someday quake would be alive esports organisations should put ufc-like press conferences in tournaments, that gonna be good decision for scene cause of 1v1 style of game
For me English it's easy, i speak in russian, ukranian and italian. At school i studied French and English. Enlish is the easiest between this.In conclusion I say that I really like English because it is easy )
Funny interview because both of them don't speak English as their mother tongue. People who only speak one language may fail to understand that speaking a foreign language can be difficult not only because of the language itself, but also because a language is also tied to a culture, and you might not know the culture of the people/country well enough to take that into account when communicating.
am i the only one in the world that understood cooller in the same way strenx did in that first question? i mean first he said strenx is very agressive, then strenx explained why he's agressive and then cooller said that he's not agressive at all.. and everybody says that's an "epic bitchslap"
I think Cooller genuinely wants to be helpful. Both of them are really good players
"You have tu choose situations when to be agrressive, but when to be not agrresive. I am talking it."
real talk ))

@@auroranamex5886 So essentially Cooller's English is a bit like Google translate lol that's fascinating

OlegTar I'm just saying it or it talkin am it I it am I it talkin it am.
Eifersucht Kim thank you. But I doubt that "it talking am it" and "I it am I it talking it am" are correct
Eifersucht Kim is this some sort of weird troll message or what?
Huqe whomstd've talked am I
Actually it was like an older brother talk sharing his experience.
"Carmac: Kevin, why do you love DM6 so much?
Strenx: Why? Because it's all shaft map."
classic XD

Classic moment in Quake :)
such big things are being said in this interview. I have learned allot just by listening to cooller :D
whenever strenx joins the north american servers to troll us on his alias accounts we just spam type " shaft map? " at him. Its pretty epic.
Strenx:
"It was close. By 2 frags on dm6" 2:04
"You can't win like close game" 2:38
Come on, stick to one opinion.
Haha this is so hilarious .. 3 People with weak english talking about things. No offence but it sounds funny
jeez this Carmack dude is a total dork, also didnt know Cooller and Av3k were lovers

not many people know this but cooller lost tournaments to stay friends!! rly great person
I'm interested, can you remember any notable tournaments where he did that? He said he was good friends with av3k hence why he didn't wanted to vs him
