I’m sure you’ll have the “how accommodating are you willing to be for me?” conversation eventually and REMEMBER to stay firm in those accommodations. ASL/Written/Apps whatever it may be!
oh no please I never want to go the "writing on notes app" route again like I went through for two years with my last ex, hahaha. To fill in the blanks, yes! But definitely do not let me go through the whole Notes app for ALLLL THE CONVERSATION again hahahaha. then again with hearing aids this time around, we're gonna be a little more good on that front hahaha
@@rikkipoynter LOLLL I was just being mindful by adding that in. I am happy you have found somebody in Omaha and it’s going well, I’m obviously just worried after seeing what you’ve gone through.
Argh, soft spoken people. It was only in the past five years I learned to be blunt and say “You’re mumbling.” I’m only brave enough to say this to one or two select people.
Uou are awesome rikki i never bothered dating love your videos you would be an awesome partner to have you are a good person hope your relationship works out
Been there too! Dating hearing ppl... Ends with them not learning or wanting to learn sign. We kept on writing on paper... And it stops with not energy enough for learning sign! Why not try date deafies or HOH with sign?
Dating while deaf can be exhausting because I’m always worried about if the person would be willing to deal with me not being able to hear everything they say and having to repeat themselves at times..I also wear hearing aids and tend to prefer guys with deeper voices…and also sometimes I feel shame around it being that we are in a predominantly hearing world.
I have audio processing issues. I can hear things, but don’t always realize there’s a sound, or I hear noise rather than language. I’m also scared of asking people to repeat themselves as needed, due to all the times I angered my mom doing just that.
@@saraquill I feel you. Sometimes the ones that we expect would be understanding, are the same ones that let us down smh. I’m sending positive vibes your way.

I'm not currently interested in any deaf people who do sign.
@@rikkipoynter No problem! You do what is good for you and what works for you! Just common speaking from here.

I figure at this point, whoever feels you are worth their time, will do what is necessary to accommodate you
@@sAnDcAstLe1224 My mom is sympathetic now that she’s hard of hearing.
