Thank you for this amazing video. I'm a Hong Konger live in Eastbourne. A walk in the morning along the seafront is wonderful. If you choose a low tide time on some day, you can walk on soft sand which is awesome too!
Thank you for this video. I lived in Eastbourne 2007-2009. Beautiful memories. Walking home by the seafront late in the evening, winter time, lights on. Early morning summer breeze and scent of the sea, sun rising while looking for mussels. Princess park with swans and ducks. Beachy head with beautiful views and tiny lighthouse below. Feelings that stay in heart forever. Hope I can visit one day again.
All my childhood holidays were here.....there is a lot of sand when the tide goes out. When I was a child the beach was a good ten feet below the level of the prom; somewhere over the years; tons and tons of stones have built up the level of the beach. Happy memories of swimming; sand castles; friends; ripe peaches; hot sausage roll lunches or sausage and chips fetched from the town by my lovely Mother, and ice creams. In the late day it would be a walk to The Wish Tower green for ice cream sodas in tall glasses; or a game of crazy golf. Such happy times!! We used to stay in Polegate which was eight miles away. As a teenager the handsome deckchair attendants were good eye candy for me and my beach pals who lived locally!
I live in Eastbourne and this was an interesting walk, but you need to go beyond the Bandstand for the best part. Towards Holywell is a nice wide promenade, lot of seats to enjoy the sea views and away from traffic noise with a lovely cafe at the end with outside seating.
As always another great walk. Some lovely looking buildings. Loved the sound of the sea. Think I saw a familiar face at the beginning 🤣. Keep on walking thank you 🚶🏻👍❤️
I can highly recommend The Langham Hotel on the seafront (east of the pier) if you want somewhere friendly to stay. Excellent food too. If you are a solo traveller, as for room 226 - a single room with excellent views.
🤣 a large credit card bill and a car that’s on its last legs 🤣 hope you’re well Tim - thought the live stream you did the other night was so good. So professional as always - keep up the top work my friend and hopefully i will bump into you to buy you a beer again!
Perhaps you could do another walk of Eastbourne showing the loveliest part of the seafront. The route west of the pier and down to Holywell is delightful. The part you have selected does not show the town at its best.
if you want to walk on sand try full low tide where you walked Langham Hotel up to the Bandstand Great with the grandkids and kids alike then further up to the rock pools As for the ,God's waiting room it's tongue in cheek some of them oldies show the youngsters a thing or two
Thank you for this. Love the natural sound (no annoying music). I'm planning on moving there in the next couple of years (I lived just down the road in Seaford years ago). Looks like a gorgeous day there. Wish I was there already! 🙂 Just subscribed!
Those 'pebbles' serve a purpose... if we had just sand, the hotels on the front would be under water by now. The pebbles are part of our sea defences and are maintained and replenished most years via a huge ship out in the channel. There is sand as others have said at the other end of the front where you didnt go. The chalk is eroding fast down there though losing an average of 7cm a year.
wow...I thought it was maybe all North Sea Drift. When I was a child the beach was ten or 12 feet below the level of the prom!! Stones at the top but when the tide went out it was lovely sand.
im coming to Eastbourne in August and it does looks lovely . I was wondering what time of day is it best to park in the permit zones as one of the hotels im staying in gives you a permit ? in other words when do these spaces get full up lol
Depends on the hotel your staying at and also when in August as our Airshow takes place then over 4 days also. When Airbourne is on, a good chunk of the main promenades road and some roads running parallel to it are closed to traffic. Parking is one of the major issues we have here in town and the seafront sadly.
@@ennileah im staying at Breakers B&B for a couple of days in mid August which is further away from the pier and Shore View hotel for one day which is near to the pier
@@caroll3309 Parking around Shore View isnt easy at all. I dont believe they have their own car park either. People fill up the residential roads at the side, and behind the hotel too, so parking for residents is easily just as difficult. I would need to check where Breakers is.. but all of the roads going from Holywell down to the Sovereign Leisure Centre are used during high season by tourists, much to residents frustration. EDIT: Breakers is a little further up that Shore View
eastbourne has really gone downhill sadly, ive had to move because of the crime because of the 10 hotels housing immigrants. muggings , robery skyrocketed at the beginning of this year. crime in July was 513 reported, normally it is 100 to 200
I was astounded and quite shocked when I heard that Meads and area is called gods waiting room. I thought I was quite old 65 but the residents are well over 70. I moved quickly as Eastbournexhas no life .a neighbor when I was in Darley Road until I found a place to buy told me he shuts his door at 6 and stays put. Was quite surprised him coming from Guildford. Eastbourne does not cater for the young only for old
You must live in a different town to me! Eastbourne has transformed completely during my lifetime; I'm 36 now and it's unrecognisable from the 'God's waiting room' years of the 90s. Meads is full of retirees as they're the only ones with enough money to live there! 😄

Holywell at dawn low tide is the most eerily beautiful spot on the entire South East Coast
Yeah, this guy missed out the best part of our seafront I think.
We love it so much we are moving there soon

The average age of 71 which is quoted here applies only to the Meads area of the town. As at 2011 the average age of the town as a whole was 43.

That man in the little box at 6:57 is called Zoltan. He does a very good fortune telling for a £1. He must live in that box.
I have stayed in most of the Hotels and the Chairman of the EHA is also the Manager of the Grand Hotel.

Have you done a video in Swanage, Dorset
What 4K camera do you use?
Is the old amusement arcade not there anymore?
Not sure

Have you ever been to Goole , Grimsby, etc
Only one small area has the average age of 71 (Meads) otherwise the average age is pretty much like anywhere else with lots of young families too.
Do you have one from Southampton?
Not yet - heading that way soon though!

That's nonsense. Crime figures were lower.
Nonsense.
I have never been to Eastbourne but I have drove passed it many times on the way to Hastings.
Worth stopping off for a wander for sure
How about Southsea near Portsmouth?
Good shout Alan - dont' think I've been there yet!
That wasn’t the Eastbourne I live in thousands of people here yesterday
This was filmed at 10am on Monday in March thats why...
