Hi Alan - that is an insane purchase, just unbelievable. We can only dream of getting something like that over here, and of that quality. Doesnt it piss you off when someone says - oh mate you should have been here earlier I had all this ....stuff, but I sold it all. I really just dont want to know lolol. Sandy - those sets are really good. All of those CD's would fit perfectly into my collection lol. Great pickin Alan. Cya Doug PS I'm coming over to long Island and we're going to those markets - hell yeh lololol
Thanks Doug - gonna have to one day. Sometimes hit or miss, but when it hits - unbelievable. Yea the guy made it sound like I was left with the scraps - sold 800 cd's before I got there. I can't imagine what he had and sold for 50 cents each - even boxsets. Insane. But still I'm pretty lucky with what I got. Thanks as always Doug. Cya...
Hi Mate OMG Those thrift stores you have! Those prices, bargain after bargain. As you said VDG were on Charisma. As we're The Nice and Refuge. Patrick Moraz joined Yes for a spell after Refuge. Fabulous finds and another great show. Thanks Alan Cheers Perry
unfortunately i got a letter today from the agents for the alan rosenberg show demanding an appearance fee for their client. we can’t afford it so are gonna have to blur him out of our video of Looney Tunes.
So, you came home from the flea market with a bunch of CDs from the U.K. that are rarely, if ever, seen in America. And each one was priced at less than what you’d pay for a stick of chewing gum. What a “wow day” you had! Of the CDs that I know, “Willie and the Poor Boys,” the David Bromberg ones and those by the Dixie Dregs get the most thumbs up from me. Having seen David Bromberg with his band as well as the Dixie Dregs in concert, I can attest to the excellence of both shows. Bromberg is a truly fun entertainer, and the virtuosity and uniqueness of Steve Morse and his bandmates are nothing short of extraordinary.
Thanks so much again. I know very little of the Dixie Dregs. I bought Dregs Of The Earth earlier this year and enjoyed it. Fabulous musicians (Morse of course is tremendous). Almost jazz fusion like. So I was thrilled to find this import of theirs. I enjoy Bromberg - have some of his stuff already, but this will largely flesh out his catalog. Thanks again - was a lucky day.
P.S. .... and the 2CD version of Pressure Points gives you the whole show from Hammersmith (if memory serves) .. it's a great set ... CMcG Aberdeen Scotland
Five Bridges and Elegy are companion pieces of sorts, both were called Keith Emerson and The Nice on a double vinyl album reissue here in the US and A.. Elegy is the better of the two IMO. What If and Night of the Dixie Dregs are my favorite Dixie Dregs albums. Fun trivia The Camel album "The Snow Goose" is based on a World War II novella called "The Snow Goose" by Paul Gallico, which tells the story of a reclusive artist during the war and his bond with an injured snow goose; making it a World War II-era novel. My favorite Camel album BTW.
thanks so much for that very cool information on The Snow Goose. I never knew that. I always loved the album covers of both Five Bridges and Elegy. I have some Nice compilation albums and their early compilation From Autumn To Spring was one of my first albums ever, strangely enough. So I'm looking forward to listening to these two classics. The bonus tracks on them are from that From Autumn To Spring album I have. Thanks so much again.
While I was at the Blues Fest you were getting all this great stuff 😂 I guess it's ok to drop stuff when it's only 50 cents 😂. 1.00 is too much to pay for a CD anymore. They all need to be 50 cents. I guess that is what is gonna happen to all my stuff when I die..... everything will be 50 cents 😱 You will love that sale. Fly in for it😂 I hope you and Steve didn't get into a physical fight over anything 😂 This weekend is the Halloween parade in the French Quarter. The weather should be great for it.
I know when I'm gone, my wife will be dumping all my stuff there as well. Had fun with Steve. He'll eventually post the video. You live a non-stop party in New Orleans. Amazing. I loved the week I was there, but phew, I couldn't keep up full time that's for sure.

Thanks Tom - only you would also have that Refugee box...lol. Looks really nice - I've never heard them so should be interesting. I previously bought some Van Der Graaf and couldn't deal with it. Kind of like Gentle Giant. I'm giving them another try...over....time.....
Nice haul, if you'll excuse the pun. And talking of The Nice, did I see my old stomping ground 'Croydon' written on the label on the back of Five Bridges? I don't think there is very much Crimson, if any, I don't own - the Vienna show is up there with other live Crimson sets. And the Sandy Denny box set is fabulous, of course. I saw Sandy live a few times - spoke to her once - and I cannot tell you the devastation we all felt when we heard she had died. Many years later I spent an evening in a pub with an elderly gentleman with whom she spent the last evening of her life before travelling to London - he tried to stop her from going - where the fatal fall took place. So sad.
@@martinstarnes2237 great story about Sandy. Thanks for sharing. You have great eyes Martin. Back of the cd has a label. Momox.com/sale. Handwritten October 69 Fairfield Halls Croydon. All these CDs are from the UK. Pretty cool. .
Well I shall answer my own question - Five Bridges is another album much of which was recorded live at the Fairfield Hall in Croydon that we have, of course, mentioned before.
@@TheAlanRosenbergShow Forgive me, Alan, your first reply has only now showed up - hadn't seen it when I made the 'I shall answer my own question' comment.
