"If you're resentful about something, it either means you should grow the hell up and accept the responsibility and quit snivelling around and whining, OR it means that someone is actually oppressing you and pushing on you too hard and bullying you and demeaning you and you have something to SAY or DO that you're not saying or doing and no wonder you're not saying or doing it because it can be really dangerous to say things or do them to free yourself from being oppressed. The test of a great teacher is not when your comfortable, well fed, a solid roof over your head,
but when your down on your luck, with the anxiety, angst, and hearing various motivational speakers fall completely flat, leaving you with less than nothing,
this man has unlocked and fully illuminated ones ability to obtain control and put into action ways to move forward, in real time.
This man has insight that can move one to clarity. When others say "why", Jordan says "how"
This man has a gift, he offers it freely. A rare, once in a lifetime person, who can argue with.

When I moved to this country, seaside town. I managed to get full time work at a production plant nursery, where there was a country boys club, that I wasn’t parted to etc. I was just there to work. Slowly but surely the bully behaviour from them started to take place, then I reacted by standing up for myself by the only way I knew at the time and that was to use intimidation and street behaviour to give them the message. The overt bullying turned to passive aggression from their part (sabotage of my work and much more). When I confronted those who I thought were responsible, I could immediately tell they were intimidated by my defence/streetwise responses and couldn’t look me in the eye to talk about the issue at hand. I ended up getting fired for petty reasons shorty after and not getting a good reference. It is a tricky one, but never allow anyone try to dominate you anywhere/anytime. I could see how beaten down and weak some of the country lads had become, where I left feeling stronger, but without a job or a reliable reference that has kinda screwed me for the future jobs I was applying for. I learnt to pick my battles very carefully and to be mature about how i deal with these situations from then on. Sometimes the job is not worth it, therefore in that case. Have another job happening on the sides, so if you feel you should leave the toxic workplace, you still got a job somewhere else..

I sincerely thank you for pointing this out.
I had thought the skip was due to a video recording error, but going against uploader intent seems more likely; I have noticed for months now that Essential Truth keeps on mislabelling Jordan Peterson's interviews/lectures to portray a more right-wing/PUA angle, a viewpoint that excludes many of Peterson's nuanced arguments, therefore completely misrepresenting Peterson's knowledge: this is no different than what Cathy Newman did. This video in particular was one of the more aptly named videos of ET's; ET's other JP videos are clickbait and push an agenda that JP does not push.
From the moment I was first listening to the lecture, I had a strong intuition that Dr. Peterson was leading the lecture regarding psychological disturbances to a direction that would also explain why suicidal persons feel the need to bring innocent lives with them, a la the school shooters.
This is such dishonest representation by Essential Truth. A shame because these bite sized bits of JP uploads are golden.

Get a better social circle. None of us are special. Find people you want to be like and bring them value. Theyll challenge your vain surpossed intellectual superiority. Theyll challenge you by outperforming you in multiple aspects of life. And winners/high performers WILL call you out. Dont surround your self with unassertive unhelpful cowards and then complain how cowardly and unhelpful they are.

There are drops of nuggets all over this lecture for life and meaningful things. At 8:50 to 9:44 was a highlight meaning to me and in how we interact with people. It’s unfortunate how people around us and close to us fail at this understanding, because it does make us better in how we communicate. Because so often we are just constantly having miscommunication all around that fails.

And rather than publicly stumbling over your own words and embarrassing yourself... because you also understand that it’s entirely possible you’re wrong... you just keep your mouth shut?

I have PTSD and GAD. I constantly worry about everything. Im very productive but always feel guilty...for anything. I'm aware the guilt is irrational. Im terrified I will lose someone everyday to some kind of tragedy of I dont do things a particular way. I panic easily in the morning (not having felt rested) and at times attempt to articulate a thought or feeling pertaining to a certain responsibility...however the way it comes out seems dramatic and emotional when im just seeking some kind of understanding. It results in a crying disaster over trivial matters which in turn inclines my partner to not want to talk to me. Ive recently sought help through therapy and DBT. I can't relax. I really feel stressed over everything...all the time. I'm tired of always being so easily startled to the point of panic bc someone closed a door...queitly I might add. I'm tired of being tired, sore, feeling guilty when I know I'm a good person that works my ass off and literally is burdened with sooooooo much empathy I can never focus on myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm a big fan. You explain things in a way i can easily understand. Thanks for what you do. Be well. - Carrie Miller

However, I’ve learned that my anxiety will probably never completely go away, but it can be managed in a way that can make life bearable. I’ve figured out that I need a lot of rest, avoid too much TV/media, quiet time, time to read, and to have a really strict work-life balance. If I violate these, I begin to suffer greatly. I wish you the best.

At least for me, it basically resulted in a lot of bullshit pseudo-philosophy and history or famous psychologists. I am now gonna go to community college for Applied Psychology and then hopefully transfer somewhere else for Behvaioral Neuroscience or something similar. Maybe that will help. I love the abstract, subjective side, but good God I have learned so much more from my own studies and youtube then from school. They hire a bunch of kook J-perterson-wannabes who espouse opinionated bullshit and call it psychology. No thank you.
