I have this book, and I bloody love. It's incredible. I stand on it every time I need to reach the back of the cupboard. Thank you, Karl, for this wonderful gift.
When i met Karl i gave him some Monster Munch and the person behind me had a full bag of them, He was saying to me - I'll be sick of these by the end of the day XD
Yeah, so what. A thin book of a celebrity is actually more likely to be vapid bullshit, unless it's a biography (and they ramble about their whole lives). And if there are photos in it, as this is a travel book, it's a plus that they're of good quality. You're not really bright.
He books at at once genuinely great travel books, and also excellent companion pieces to his documentary travel series, which is also one of the most honest and genuine travel programs ever made. Bravo on the well earned success, Karl. You proved the teachers wrong.
0:47.. "Fuckin hell 3 bouncers as if that's necessary.. Justin Bieber doesn't have that many.. Mind u he doesn't come to Watford does he"! Lmao Karl Pilkington for PM! Fuckin Legend!!
I live down the road from this Asda, got in line and saw Karl! Nice guy. Seemed very confused about why so many people had come out just to see him. Then I was late for work. Totally worth it.
I laughed so hard when he was talking about the thickness then said "good quality paper there" then started rubbing his finger on it it. Karl never ceases to make me laugh :)
I like how after he really starts complaining about being in the parking lot and how Charles Dickens wouldn't be there, it pans to the sign that says "I'd rather be anywhere but here". Then again, it's not like it takes a psychic to tell that Karl would hate doing something like this.
Good honest misery. That's what we British are best at. We're putting Karl in for the misery Olympics. Cert..........American positivity makes me depressed.
Karl, Charles Dickens was a super star during his time. He would practice his stage readings in front of a mirror in the hotel lobby and charge people to watch. So he would have loved doing what you did here. Keep on going strong man. Congratulations on the book and keep on Traveling and or doing what you love best.
Why did they put Karl in a tiny trailor in the parking lot of that ASDA store ? He should have been inside of the store in the front where everyone can see him. In the US when there are book signings or events like that they usually setup a small area inside the store so everyone there knows whats going on. Most people who didnt glance up at the small sign didnt knwo who was hidden inside the trailor. Thats just stupid
escalinci Well hes just stupid setting up a book signing where he is hidden inside a trailor in the parking lot he probably lost 75% of his sales that day .
I want to say he's a "National Treasure" but im not even from the UK so I dont even know if its fitting. I just so much appreciate his honestly and genuineness. It's just so rare to see someone become so popular for just being themselves and I truly love it.
It is because Asda is owned by Walmart, but this is in the UK and it is a British supermarket. I know because I live in the UK. And it is just a general supermarket.
I cant believe i missed this!!!!!! This asda store is just down my road and im karl's biggest fan!!!! I even bought the book from there!!!! Im so gutted :(
In a caravan, in an Asda car park. that is so Karl Pilkington! :') got to admit though, he's right in saying it's a good gift! my mate got me the book for christmas and it's a good read, so funny!
I'm with you dude. I like how he's miserable and everything but not to people who appreciate the guy! I really don't see how thanking your fans is a bad thing. If I was famous I'd do anything I could for the fans! Without them, there's no fame at all!
we haven't had them for that long. They bought ASDA i think and now they are slowly taking over like Tesco metro. Soon all there will be is Tesco metro.
here here totally agree with you m8 same as the uk people here dont give a toss about people in poverty making there nike air trainers they just want to wear them. people should just be gratefull for what you have got some people just want a drink of water and cant even get that ,how often do you flush your toilet
Uuugh you've gotta be kidding, Walmart has invaded the UK as well?! I thought we were only plagued with them in the US. Poor Karl...I'm sure they meant well by putting him in that little trailer, where it's sort of more private, but how can people even tell he's there?! It's so nondescript. They should have had him inside a big book store. How many people go to Walmart to get the latest Karl Pilkington book? Really poor promotion work, damn.
I have this book, and I bloody love. It's incredible. I stand on it every time I need to reach the back of the cupboard. Thank you, Karl, for this wonderful gift.
33hegemon I've got mine in my toilet in case I run out of toilet paper
"Cheeky bastards..."
Value for money look how thick it is
I have all of his books. This guy is great
Yeah is it the book you read while having a shit

Public Image Live He's making up words now!
It’s not a foodage though, is it.
Is it in your lavatory? Or propping up your desk?
Love how people bought him munchies
When i met Karl i gave him some Monster Munch and the person behind me had a full bag of them, He was saying to me - I'll be sick of these by the end of the day XD
He said he’s sick of them now 😂
Yeah, but one asshole threw him a package on the table as if he were an animal in the zoo
And an only fools and horses video with a little yellow car
I like how he doesn't acknowledge the gifts
"thats good value for money" *Shows thickness of book* "that's some good quality paper".
QUALITY ZIP
Fingers the book
Yeah, so what. A thin book of a celebrity is actually more likely to be vapid bullshit, unless it's a biography (and they ramble about their whole lives). And if there are photos in it, as this is a travel book, it's a plus that they're of good quality. You're not really bright.
Adding "He's not happy" to the video title is like making a video titled "Water. (It's wet.)"
Water isn't wet
@ewan Munro its been proven nigga
I bet there's a lot of readage in that book.
jospi2 it's a picture book 😂😂😂😂😂
Good quality paper so it definitely has some good grippage.

The greatest homosapien ever to grace our wonderful planet.
Jimi Jones yeah her name is Suzanne Whiston
Jimi Jones lmfao!!! Dude a homosapien is the genus and species of us humans. You're thinking of a homosexual. Haha!
Jimi Jones I think you and Karl might have a lot in common.
Jimi Jones How cute. :-)
+Jay Shorttle yeh we all watched it
That was hilarious 😅.
I like how he's compared himself to Charles Dickens and Elvis Presley in one video... MEGA LOL!!
he didnt compare himself to charles dickens he aspired to have the integrity and respect that dickens had.
Spok Recordings and Justin Bieber haha
I think it's so cute how people brought him snacks.
Loads of sweets bought as gifts. If only an old person would have turned up........eating a Twix.
Never gonna happen. Like homeless Chinese no such thing
or an old person eating a MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARS BAR BAR BAR
I live down the road from this Asda, got in line and saw Karl! Nice guy. Seemed very confused about why so many people had come out just to see him.
Then I was late for work. Totally worth it.
I actually would have liked to have one of his signed books
Well you actually should have gone to the Asda in Watford.
PS: hi from 2021
I like that he recommends viewers buy the book based entirely on its thickness, paper quality, and the fact that it's not a cookbook.
I laughed so hard when he was talking about the thickness then said "good quality paper there" then started rubbing his finger on it it. Karl never ceases to make me laugh :)
Quality zip, doesn't stick
I like how after he really starts complaining about being in the parking lot and how Charles Dickens wouldn't be there, it pans to the sign that says "I'd rather be anywhere but here".
Then again, it's not like it takes a psychic to tell that Karl would hate doing something like this.
Suprized he didn't say "sick of it"
The newfound, budding U.S. popularity, is allmost as chringetastick as your comment.
Just watched full series of his new show "Sick of it" 😂😂😂
He needs to go on Top Gear... ^_^
Would be great if they had one of the challenges with him as a guest star tagging along. Pair him with Jeremy.
***** or just drive the reasonably priced car?
Aaron Towle I guess that will never happen now =[
I love how they gave him a packet of Munchies and his favorite snacks.
Strangely his books are by far the best thing he's done, and my favorite material. He's a far better writer than expected.
Good honest misery. That's what we British are best at. We're putting Karl in for the misery Olympics. Cert..........American positivity makes me depressed.
arfer now imagine you were born here. fuck my life
Plenty of us are depressed Nihilists
@@stuv1996 nihilism is even more depraving, The English aren’t nihilists
Karl bring so much joy! he is the best human ever :D
The fucking asda i could drive to within 5 minutes, and i had no idea he was here
Don't read the "going out" section closely enough...
My mum and stepfather went to this.....when I wasn't with them. 😑 bastards
I feel your pain, my brother and cousin went, they are even in this video
Ronnie Forbes
Thanks for the salt, my wound feels SO much better 😏
lol 😂
Lol that must be some kind of Ricky’s arrangement again, signing in a caravan lolllll
Karl, Charles Dickens was a super star during his time. He would practice his stage readings in front of a mirror in the hotel lobby and charge people to watch. So he would have loved doing what you did here. Keep on going strong man. Congratulations on the book and keep on Traveling and or doing what you love best.
"It cheapens the experience"
-The man who asked for a trailer to sign his book in
it's so amazing that people brought him munchies.
You'll notice in the video he says he asked for it.
escalinci
OK so Karl just shot himself in the foot lost alot of book sales by being his typical weird self
rbeck3200tb40 I think you'd be disappointed if you went to a book signing with karl and it wasn't weird in some way.
escalinci
Well hes just stupid setting up a book signing where he is hidden inside a trailor in the parking lot he probably lost 75% of his sales that day .
Jimi Jones yeh, i reconn Gervais was possibly behind IT...
I want to say he's a "National Treasure" but im not even from the UK so I dont even know if its fitting. I just so much appreciate his honestly and genuineness. It's just so rare to see someone become so popular for just being themselves and I truly love it.
Genuinely is a national treasure for me.
It's impossible not to love Karl, he's so genuine. "I know it's not the best book ever", haha who would say that?
Karl, I would have come to see you if I knew you were there!
HugeK did you only get to page 56 in the local paper? 😂
"Why Asda in Watford?"...that's what I thought!
Its a talent that he can be so depressing but so loveable
It is because Asda is owned by Walmart, but this is in the UK and it is a British supermarket. I know because I live in the UK. And it is just a general supermarket.
I saw an interview where he said he hasn't read a book in at least ten years. And now he's written one.
Ahhhhh i met him in person :D i went to the Manchester signing he is so lovely in person
I love his little smile every time people bring him munchies :D hahah
This may sound a bit daft, but as an American I had no clue that there were Wal-mart stores in the UK.
Just reading the titles of Ricky and Karl's videos is hilarious. I love Karl.
Is there one of these for the Manchester one?
Was this a DVD extra?
I cant believe i missed this!!!!!! This asda store is just down my road and im karl's biggest fan!!!! I even bought the book from there!!!! Im so gutted :(
I would of literally drove 100's of miles up to Watford if I knew he was there. Ricky Steve and Karl... Heroes
I can't imagine he had the patience to write such a thick book.
im a big fan of karl
bill brink me to
I adore him!
LOL open door at the end made me lose it 3:16. Just summed it up.
The trumpet / trombone is the most appropriate instrument for the documentation of Mr Pilkington's life.
Any chance of ASDA Nottingham? ;)
which series is this from?
It's like, everything he says isn't wrong, but it also isn't right.
Love the caravan - it reminds me of a Matthews holiday in France. Fairly certain I stayed in a few Phoenix Twins in my time.
What is tis clip from? The soundtrack is from An Idiot Abroad, maybe season 3???? one could hope
i love how people, as a kind gesture, left behind some of their groceries.
I wonder if the book has any good tips on preparing foodage?
Oh!...Karl should have come to Providence...We would have had a Water Fire for him in his honor!
Is this taken from something?
i live 15 minutes away from watford. gutted i didnt know the great man was in the area.
haha I love the banner on the camper "Karl Pilkington I'd rather be anywhere but here"
Wish it was possible to buy a signed copy!!
You can buy a book and send it to an dares son London and he will sign it for free look on his fb mate
Oh damn, didn't know that info was up there. I appreciate you letting me know that!
The Munchies touch was brilliant. Well done Asda shoppers of Watford and the surrounding area!
The toilet paper as a gift riles me up LOL
In a caravan, in an Asda car park. that is so Karl Pilkington! :') got to admit though, he's right in saying it's a good gift! my mate got me the book for christmas and it's a good read, so funny!
I'm with you dude. I like how he's miserable and everything but not to people who appreciate the guy! I really don't see how thanking your fans is a bad thing. If I was famous I'd do anything I could for the fans! Without them, there's no fame at all!
but in the US you'd have marketed it. nobody was there because nobody knew it was happening unless you were shopping at that asda store.
What's the book about?
did,nt know asda sold books , i will go back tomorrow and check
Loving the thought of Charles Dickens sat in a caravan outside Asda trying to flog Great Expectations!
A tiny advert on page 57 of the paper LOL
"Justin Bieber doesn't have this many bouncers... but then he's not in Watford"
lol
It is an Asda.. Not Walmart... This is in the UK
ASDA CARPARK..BRILLIANT CHOICE.havent seen him anywhere for a while, missed him!
Good quality paper! Karl, you are a true legend!
Damn I live in Watford and used to go to this asda each week. How did I miss Karl?
WalMart actually no longer operates in the uk they decided to go else where asda is now independent what's wrong with WalMart btw?
Holy, at 3:15 when the door opens, for a sec I thought they had forgotten Karl in there, he didn't know what was going on and was stepping out.
we haven't had them for that long. They bought ASDA i think and now they are slowly taking over like Tesco metro. Soon all there will be is Tesco metro.
What is this from?
"Mind you he doesnt come to Watford, does he?!" 😂
i wish i knew the trombone song in the beginning. anybody can tell me please?

I love the music in the background of these videos it as if Karl Pilkington is a real life Mr. Bean type character.
why don't you come on no more I miss you 😢
Good to hear it, but it is not your fault mate, these company's are evil like you said.
here here totally agree with you m8 same as the uk people here dont give a toss about people in poverty making there nike air trainers they just want to wear them. people should just be gratefull for what you have got some people just want a drink of water and cant even get that ,how often do you flush your toilet
Did no one get him revels
Uuugh you've gotta be kidding, Walmart has invaded the UK as well?! I thought we were only plagued with them in the US.
Poor Karl...I'm sure they meant well by putting him in that little trailer, where it's sort of more private, but how can people even tell he's there?! It's so nondescript. He did one in manchester after this. Not sure where he is going next but i want to go.
Love how he compares himself to Dickens, like when he thought his Diary was up there with Pepys haha
Can't believe a single person didn't bring him an orange
i love how karl is selling the paper in the book, not his writing
Karl is brilliant love his way of life and his out look on everyday issues and thoughts-His I pods send me to sleep every night very funny man!
Found this book thrown in my skip by some cheeky bastard. It has been surprisingly useful to level out the leg of my pool table
"Not even London... Cheeky bastards!" I lost it! hahaha
He's having another book signing today in Manchester then next week in London.
Hahahaah, now you know how he really feels.
what are you on about walmart?
He'll never be affected by fame
