These came from a mine on private property located here: 45.194826 -108.188788
These fluoresce under UV-C (shortwave blacklights) just like bear canyon agates.
I have heard that the ranch these were being mined on got upset at the miners behaving poorly and kicked them off and never let anybody mine them again.

    OMG absolutely stunning Theo...
Nature's finest beauty and mind blowing in its creation. To hold something so aged , real and inanimate and yet brings about life , beauty, magic, science and the want to learn more ! A million thoughts and feelings from what is essentially a rock/stone - our earths element , in our galaxy in our universe! A rock here millions of years before we knew it a rock ,probably kicked about my dinosaurs and now in your possession!
Theo thank you for sharing as always , do let's us know if you intend to share that magic in your store of course lol x . x

On your drop saw, get a piece of 1/2” or thicker rubber stall mat. Keeps the rock from moving. I even know a few people that have used the rubber matting inside the rock vice to get a enter grip on the rock. If interested let me know. I have some pieces I can rough cut to fit into a box for you.

These agates are so amazing. Seeing these helps me to form the top end of the quality curve, forming ideals that you always hold someplace in your thoughts when you're turning over rocks, always hoping for the ideal. It's like occassionally catching a really amazing fish. Not that a smaller or less perfect fish will ever disappoint you, or that you only want to catch big fish. But occassionally, when you do, it is REALLY special because it fulfills the ideal.

Well, this video explains a lot...
Just this past week-end I found a 20 lb box o'rocks at an estate sale for $5. It had 6 pcs. of raw Dryhead Agate, along with Coldwater and Lake Superior Agates, and several other specimens that I need to research. The Dryhead Agates were the reason I bought the box, not knowing exactly what they were, only that I didn't have any agates like them in my collection. In fact, I already have one marked for slab & cab. lol (Don't know what it is, but, damn it, I'm makin' jewelry out of it 🤣👍.)
KatyDoes Rock... Have fun with the "new" saw.
    Thanks for sharing.
Good Luck, Have Fun, and Keep on Houndin'...

    Wow. What a fantasical collection!
What kind of acid have you been using? I tried both vinegar and oxalic acid to clean up druzy pockets on a collection of Dryheads. Both worked, to differing degrees.
Those black and red druzy pockets are just killer! I have none of those colors, but I've got a number of them with salmon and orange druzy, and, like you found, one with very pale purple amethyst. I enjoy cutting cabochons with druzy pockets , and Dryheads provide lots of opportunities for those unique cabs.

I am a beginner I've sat down at my saw three times now and watching your videos as helped me and given me so many ideas especially this one because I have a lot of Missouri druzy with so much agate in it. And I had no idea about the muriatic acid on agate. I've been using iron out on some of my geodes but would muriatic acid work better for me for the druzy agate I don't know the exact terminology for the name of what I have because I have a bunch.
