I'm so glad finally that I feel apart of skateboarding again. When I came out, my social life in skating took a huge hit. it changed the way I skated. After 8 year, I finally feel the passion to ride with a community of others that understand what it was like.
I never thought I'd get to see skateboarding mature and become so understanding in my lifetime. Sure, there's still a long way to go (just like with the rest of people) but it does bring a smile to my 48-year old face that such positive change has been possible.

@@theskateboardfan I love this make believe new fairy tale skateboarding was about acceptance from being outside the normal. so many of the pros I looked up to were lil street rats stealing and in no way were accepting outsiders lol now skateboarding is selling out in anyway possible only thing to do is start your own brand our support the skaters that are really putting it down and not slowing down

We go, "Awwww what a big boy/girl you are. You're doing great for being so unique. Here's gold medal for being you!!!" If this person wants to dress up as a whatever they feel they are, so be it. I'm all for it. But people are genuinely praising this person ONLY for being trans, which is fine if you only want to use their story as motivation for being true to whatever it is you feel like. But that's not the case. If this was just some guy, their tricks would get noticed, but hardly anybody would be going "OMG wow you're the best skater ever!!!!" And it's extremely disingenuous to claim this person is an amazing female skateboarder or even worse, "the best female skater" as many are saying. We are now entering a weird phase where people are getting spots on skate teams simply for coming out or being trans. I get that it must feel good being praised and getting recognition and all that, but I would honestly feel like crap if people simply praised me for being gay/trans/woman/man. People are letting that part be their whole identity and it's gross.

It has no pop,usually the style is bad,sketchy etc. Very,very few clips where things are done the right way. And no,this does not mean I hate women skating.
