Your video was very well explained and easy to understand the process. I am hoping to set up an aquarium with a group of these amazing fish. Not sure if I will breed, but tank set up, envirment needs that you covered has really helped. Thank you
Question.. what if you mix different sub species? Say spotted with the red neon? Would they breed and if so, are the babies pretty??? Or spotted with the basic ones with the yellow pom poms..?
@@EyezLikaFox̌ yes they will cross breed. Fry are much more pretty. When you mix red neon blue eye with spotted blue eye you can hace babies with redish pectoral fins and spotted body and much more varients in between both species.
Hello again 😊 i noticed last week and this week breeding behavior with my spotted blue eyes. But ive seen ZERO eggs. Im watching them so closely, they go into the moss or other plants and do their "dance" but i never see them leave eggs behind. Any ideas???
@@EyezLikaFox̌ could you please keep a breeding mop in the tank and remove the moss. Otherwise they will lay eggs in everywhere then you will not be able to collect eggs. When you put the mop then everyday you can take the mop out from the tank and check. Then you will find some eggs
@SerendibAquatics i wish I could take the moss out but its attached to several things and then my neocaridina would not be happy. I do have a spawning mop in there but they've shown no interest in it. Just with the moss and some other live plants. 🥺
@@EyezLikaFox̌ then we can use another method to breed them. 1) please take males and females out from the main breeding tank. 2) feed them in separate tanks. Males and females in separate tanks. 3) remove other fish from your moss tank. Shrimps are ok and keep them in the tank. 4) after 10 days. You can put the males and females to the moss tank and next day you can do a 30 % water change. Then they will breed . After seen the breesing behaviour, next day you can remove adult fish. Then fry will raise in same tank.
@@SerendibAquatics wow ty for taking the time to give me such thorough advice!! Unfortunately.. I only have 2 tanks. My 55g community tank. Which have my 1.2 blue eyes, 10 cardinal tetras, 2 brass tetras, 2 hillstreams, 3 Cory's 2 otos and 3 kili clowns and a bunch of shrimp. I just set up a 5g to breed blue jelly neos and figured if I get eggs, I'd put them in the 5g to grow out. So I dont have the tanks to separate my fish 😢
Quality of your videos are quite detail & fascinating. Keep up the good work. Big fan here!!!
Thank you. Much appreciated!
Please do one breeding video for Chili Rasbora. RUclips has 1 video about this, but it's not that well done like yours.
Thank you.
We will do a chilli rasbora breeding guide in future.

But the only problem is when the pure blood line break we can't predict the gene expression of babies. It may be vary with huge range.

How long is the red neon lifespan? Some sources claim they livr upto 3-5 years while most say that they don't last longer than 2 years
Most of the time upto 2 years. I have no experience more then 2 years.
Usually 1 to 2 years
Mine is more than two years the area i live in is usually warm so they change color based on temperature from orange to gold
Waiting for crystal shrimp breeding and corydoras breeding ❤️😋
Will do a vedeo.
Thank you.
