We had a core that would contend for years to come but rather than be patient and add a little bit here and there we made wholesale changes and completely destroyed team chemistry and changed our DNA. The answer wasn’t to trade for KD, the answer was to make small moves until we get over the hump. Ask the timberwolves about the KAT trade it’s the same thing- destroy chemistry for a splash move that “feels good”
The KAT trade was about saving money rather than improving their team. Nobody in their right mind thinks that Randle is going to help them more than KAT.

Dunn and Okogue can be the guys that do the little things but this way it’s not as a catch up to get stops. Instead, we’ll have more cohesion.
High salaries don’t mean championships, it’s about roster construction. The suns are not a good team they don’t need 50m player coz it fucked the flexibility and chance to build depth

It’s a disaster and it starts with roster construction. A lot of us dumb folk who never played the game recognized that Beal was a poor fit from the start because his skill set was duplicative with Booker’s. The team is also too small. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure this out.

@ my assessment on this team isn’t about recent weeks …Kd came to the suns to play with book so he’s thinking either book is going to keep getting better and eventually reach mvp status in his prime so they can be 1a and 1b but book hasn’t showed any growth since Kd has been here …you have to remember book has never gotten his team to the playoffs until cp3 showed up and now Kd has helped him but book has to be good enough to at least be a top 10 player in the league if this team is going anywhere regardless of Beal going to the bench or not.

If he was playing up to it and impacting the win column. Nothing would have changed. He needs to embrace the role of a lou williams/ jamal crawford and see if that will give the suns the firepower that they've been lacking trying to close the game. Regarding booker, his ego needs to come down a couple notches. He thinks he's an elite player. He's not. He's an elite scorer that is soft on the other end and folds under pressure. He and beal may be laughing now but when their careers are over, all people will remember about them is they gave up and could get the job done.
