A fun fact I find crazy about a country that isn’t mine is, there is a rural South American country called Surinam. Surinam is mostly dense jungle and they experience a crazy intense wet season there with really bad storms. During one of these storms a world famous British fisherman named Jeremy Wade happened to be filming for an American TV show he hosted for many years called river monsters. While filming in a remote part of Surinam a member of the film crew for river monsters was struck by lightning! The camera glitched from the lighting strike but the footage and the crew member both survived. So they aired the episode anyway and it’s one of the first televised examples(at least in American television) of real surviving footage from an up close lighting strike like that. Lol the more you know , if you ever see footage of an up close lighting strike on TV just know that somehow a British man, who just wanted to fish on American TV, got struck by lightning in a small South American county and we found out that it’s possible to record and air footage like that. It’s in season 3 of river monsters if anyone wants to see it lol.
