Found your video while searching how to repair my LO26 and maybe enhance it while I'm at it. And I lost my words, you made a piece of art of it and give us so many info. Really want to custome mine now! Thank you good Sir.
Hi, could you please instruct on how to remove the back wheel? I was wondering if there's a way to change the back wheel without having to cut any cables
Hydey yes absolutely if you watch part 1 of this build i talk about that. I wish it was a easy task but unfortunately its not. But at least you’ll know more than i did when i started.Enjoy
Hey I'm curious what the total weight ended up being since you changed out most of the parts I would if getting this....and also how much of it is the battery back. Nicely done
Andrejs Pidjass yea that is tricky. Fyi if you got the same shock i did, then it should come with addition plastic spacers. I had to use vice grips and greased up the rod to help. But it still dinged up the spacers. You can also use the vice grips with the ratchet piece to beat out the pipe with a hammer like i did in the video. Theres really no perfect way to do it unfortunately.
Honestly i dont use this bike much. I got some legit electric mountain bikes. With mid drive motors. The parts hold up pretty well. The over all design of the bike is still good for commuting but the 350 motor i find to not be worth the cost. I would recommend a minimum 500 watt motor
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 yeah I already have the 500w version and I'm happy for what I use it for ( light trials and road), I'm currently looking through front and rear suspension to find the best budget options. These himalo front forks and dnm rear shocks you ordered seem to have decent reviews, and I'm curious to see how they held up after some heavy use.
I probably would just stick with a decent spring fork. If your just doing light trail riding its fine. The himalo gave out while not in use. It doesnt hold the air
hi dude, i bought the 500w samebike and just waiting for it to arrive. thing is i have the same rear shock as the one you mounted on yours, from my old bike, but it's 200mm not 165. does the samebike take longer than 165mm shoks? would be a shem to have to sell mine and have to buy a smaller one
I have the same bike i mean i have the SAMEBIKE🤣 but i wish i had your bike because your bike is not the same bike anymore! Its a beast! The standard suspension on this bike are awful!!!
Loved the upgrades just got an Lo26 for myself too however snag right away I wanted to upgrade the forks and rear shock. Trouble is that the UK seems to be excluded from shipping on the items I'd need. Ie forks and threadless headset etc tbh I am not sure which items id need to do this and what ones on the vast list do not apply. Like the forks. I know its 26. But there is two options which one do I need. I am never going to be extreme off road down hills etc so to change the forks and just the rear shock have you any suggestions on where to buy for UK delivery I got lost at all the headset threadless washer things tbh. I can build a house but struggle with this lol
snakeamine i got them at home depot and as far as i know theres only one size. Master Magnet 3/4 in. Neodymium Rare-Earth Magnet Discs (3 per Pack). Dont forget it only works with aluminum nuts not the steal ones. Because aluminum isnt magnetic
It fit ok for me but with newer models ive heard the sizing is off a little. Not sure if its manufactural inconsistent or they simply changed the mounting bracket holes a little. So double check before your order anything

@@almostawesomewithwill9251 yes, it is correctly installed. I will leave like that I think .. and last question have you changed the brakes and what advise you so that it brakes better?
Dembd no i havent changed the brakes. You can definitely adjust the brakes to work better. However its not something i can explain easily. I would look up videos on youtube perhaps on how to adjust brakes. Thats how i learned to do it.
That may just he a camera rattle. Once i applied electrical tape around the battery (see part 1) the rattle went away. But the way the bike comes there is definitely a rattle. This seems to be a common issue with these types of bikes unfortunately.
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 yep the rattle I messaged you about was definitely the battery rattling in the frame, placed some padded tape around it problem fixed

Have you any plans to upgrade to motor to a bigger wattage? Wondering how big a job it would be, especially if you wanted to keep the existing wheels, assuming you would have to change upgrade the rear back to spokes, and then also change front wheel to spokes to match ??.. ive had a good ride out on my bike today , and have the 400 watt version which is quite good and practical, but I can see ill be wanting 1000 or 1500 watts very soon 😉
the thought definitely crosses my mind, but to be honest it feels like to much trouble and to much money at that point. I have other bike with 500 and 750 watts so my need for that bike to be more isnt there. however if this was your only bike then it may worth the upgrade.
If you watch part one of the samebike build youll see me take out the controller. Its in the bike frame. You have to unfold the bike and unscrew the part the battery connects to. Just pay attention to how everything is connected
Im not exactly sure what your asking but if your referring to the different fork sizes that are based on tire size as in 26” / 27.5 / 29” then the size fork should be for a 26” tire.
Just keep in mind if you are upgrading the tires and are selecting bigger tires you may want to consider the fork may need to be bigger. However i upgraded my tires on the samebike to 2.25 and i did not have to increase the fork size. So i stayed with the 26” fork
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 Almost Awesome With Will Many thanks will, I'm not willing to upgrade the wheel's size hence I bought the 26' front fork. Do I need an high pressure shock pump to charge the front and rear shocks or the compressor I use for the tires is suitable?
Stephen Morrison that will depend on the size chain ring you choose. If your going with a 36 tooth chain ring then you go with a 36-38 tooth chain ring cover. In hindsight i probably would have gone with a bigger chain ring and thus a bigger chain ring cover like a 41 tooth chain ring
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 Don't really have the time or the funds to mess with the drivetrain at the moment. The cheap plastic chainring guard that came with the bike snapped off the other day, so was just looking to replace. You know what size came standard with the bike?
Count how many teeth are on the biggest chain ring on the bike at the moment then start from there. In your case its not just about size but about a chain ring that attaches to your specific type of drive train.
Did you get the correct size. As i put in the comment and in the episode you have to get the 165mm version. If you didnt get the correct size just return to amazon asap and get the correct one.
Alan Symonds i just double checked and eye to eye with the dnm air shock installed its 6.5 inches which converted to millimeters is exactly 165mm. Try measuring your air shock and make sure they sent you the correct size. The first time i ordered mine they sent the completely the wrong one.
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 The shock measures 165mm middle of eye to middle eye but it seems the bikes bracket doesn't stretch quite enough to fit in. The shock is snug up against the wires on the frame at the top but the bottom seems out by a 3 or 4mm. So frustrating 😫
Alan Symonds this is probably a great opportunity for me to create a facebook group so i can better communicate with everyone and others can participate as well. That being said i just made a facebook group, if you join it you can post some photos so i can see what your talking about.
Hi, congratulations for your very informative and interesting videos! I bought the 500Watts model and I would like to change the crankset by a model with more teeth, indeed I only ride road and not off-road. I would like to avoid changing the bottom bracket, can you give me the length of the original axle please? Also, do you know if the square of the axle is in JIS or ISO format? Not exectly. If you add up all the cost of the better quality parts and it equals 100%, the price you wwill pay for them on a prebuilt bike can easely be 200% or 250% since they always overcharge you. Building a bike a bike from scratch will always be a cheaper option than buying the same pre built. In this I gotta give it to you tho, that REPLACING el cheapo parts will leave you with a handful of used shtty parts you cant really sell.
