Hi my lovelies!! After 10 plus years since I started my fashion blog and working for myself, I decided to acknowledge this milestone with an Hermes bag. Comment below with if you can figure out why they even let me get one. I've heard so many horror stories of the months long world wide waiting lists and constant rejections. How come Hermes gave it to me then??

Not true everywhere. In France you can be lucky and walk into a shop and get a birkin or kelly. A friend of mine was in Cannes I september no purchase history and she came out with a bag ! So happy for you.....you look so happy I love this video

I think we give Hermes too much ... I don’t know what to call it. It is a beautiful bag, but if you have the money to purchase it, you shouldn’t have to feel like Hermes did you a favor. You did them a favor. You spent your money. Hermes need to be made to understand that.
I totally agree with you. I understand the value of a good iconic design but i really don't get the attitude. They should not be acting as if they are selling limited edition cancer cure vials. It is just a thing in the end of the day. A beautiful thing but still a thing.

Walked into a Hermes Store in Copenhagen with a dear friend to admire the scarves. Explained we didn't want to buy ( can't afford yet!) but wanted to look at their beauty and design. The SA was so lovely and told us so much about the artists behind the scarves etc. We were joined by another SA and spent many minutes chatting. As we left without buying anything we were both handed a goody bag! We were honest and real- I guess you got your bag because you were honest and real too. It's a special memory.
But the amount of “content creators” easily getting their hands on these “elusive” bags is kind of killing the allure. I am not talking about Karen (I love her!) but so many others who have recently done unboxings has made me (and others) start feeling a bit less enthused about the brand.

Congratulations!!! Regarding dressing well to designer stores or appointments, I used to work at Harrods in Knightsbridge and they teach sales assistants to never judge anyone. Can’t say all the S.A’s act that way but, a lot of very rich people don’t even dress up when they go shopping. They walk around in sweats. So never feel embarrassed at these designer stores, they don’t know your bank account! Have fun and enjoy browsing if you can’t afford just yet ❤️❤️
Natasha I was treated like royalty in an LV boutique a few years ago. I was awed at the SA’s knowledge of the brand heritage. That experience has ruined me for all other boutique experiences though!
I agree to not need to dress up. I deliberately DIDN'T wear visible logos and just had on what you saw in the video: thrifted mens coat with black underneath with Zara boots that the Hermes SA really loved LOL! It's about YOU as a person I reckon? Regardless of what you wear.

Agreed. Some the friendliest service I ever received was when I went to the Jimmy Choo store. Super nice lady, very knowledgeable and frankly couldn't do enough for me. when I was there. Made the whole experience a pleasure. I liked her so much I went back and brought some more shoes a few weeks later.
Interesting because whenever I go into designer stores I always get glared at tho I have the money to buy things in there despite not being rich. The snobbery disgusts me.Fashion and style should be for everyone
Karen, I believe you are more famous and well known than you realize. I think you got the bag, because they know you are so loved on social media. You have cornered a niche in fashion and there are many people who know your work. Your channel is absolutely one of the best this genre has to offer. I get this wonderful feeling of escape into the world of fashion , unlike any of the others. I literally hate it when your videos end and come the next Friday, I’m waiting to have a nice sit-down with the girl I love and to pour-over every detail you bring to your channel. Honestly, I think they know who you are and have the utmost respect for your work. You had to make an appointment and I bet “dollars to donuts” they Googled your name. You had that bag way before you got to their store. I’d bet money on my theory. Bravo, my dear...I’m so very happy for you and I look forward to seeing you using this gorgeous bag in upcoming videos. I feel like the Hermes bag scarcity is a but of a gimmick to fabricate demand...I don't know...and if so it clearly works because it makes people think they have something rare
If I had that type of money I would get one custom made to my liking...but not referring to Hermès...more so for any handbag designer. At least it would be more to my taste, unique, and I had more involvement in selecting the items for it. Hermès is too hyped up just like any other luxury brand in my opinion.
It takes a whole day to make one Kelly and two days to make a birkin. They are handcrafted in France and are incredible quality. They can’t just mass produce them to sell to anyone that wants one

I agree. Karen is the real vlogger. No airs, no pretentions and that's what I admire about this Influencer. Went inside with one goal and (not to buy several items before being handed the actual bag) came out accomplishing that goal! I think everyone who goes to Hermes should do the same IF they really want only the bag.

Beautiful bag! I love the contrast stitching. It makes me sad that Hermes insists that you purchase additional items. Just so you know, that’s illegal in the US. It’s called bundling. When a company knows you want product “A” and they say, we’ll you can buy A, but you also have to buy product “B”. If you were forced to buy B to get A, that’s illegal. However, BOTH are beautiful!
One of my fav videos about sharing the experience of buying a Hermes bag. For the 1st time someone that seems more normal, natural, herself that does not like/believe in whats called ‘the Hermes game’ with no purchase history but at the same time can afford the bag. Pretty much all videos here around the same topic are from girls that already own Hermes bags, with extensive purchase history, connections or with a lot of money u can tell by watching other videos or Ig post about their lavish life ( there is nothing wrong with that) but this videos just gives Hope to those that want a Hermes bag, has the money and thats it. 💙 the bag is beautiful

It's a beautiful bag, but the whole marketing angle of making people jump through hoops and prove themselves worthy in order to buy it - in a massive recession, no less - is laughable. Not to mention degrading. There's a whole very creepy psychological manipulation in play - frankly, I'm surprised you wanted to be party to it.
I feel like the whole jumping through hoops and being scared of looking too needy and pushy and also being scared of asking for what you want because you don’t feel worthy, is very reminiscent of the dynamics of an abusive relationship

i'm seeing a lot of bloggers getting their first hermes bags now with no history or anything. i think the pandemic slowed hermes sales so they're getting it back out into the public via influencers... Congrats to you! i'll covet from nj lol
I highly suspect that a lot of the influencers you’re seeing purchasing these, are buying very good and expensive dupes. I trust Karen and don’t think she’d lie to us, but some other influencers i do look at sideways. I used to work in big magazines and a lot of editors who were still lower on the editor tier (so they weren’t getting all the amazing free pr stuff) but still wanted to flex like they would get insane dupes. The dupes aren’t cheap either, some can go for $2k-$3k which is expensive but compared to an actual Kelly bag is pocket change, and i think they’re passing it off as real

They need to meet sales targets so granting wishes, especially if you’re an influencer, is the easiest way to do that without damaging their reputation by doing things like pr packages or sales or uploading their bags online. No one could ever walk into the store and get a black or gold birkin off the bat it was months at the very least unless you were rich as fuck before the pandemic
How quota bags are produced and distributed among the boutiques would make it next to impossible that Hermès ends up with a number of Kellys or Birkins lying around unwanted, even with the pandemic (each season’s POs have been placed in the previous Feb and July, which means Karen’s bag has been ordered by the boutique and approved by Paris way after the pandemic hit.. not sure if that makes sense but the whole PO process is very calculated and straightforward for the specific reason of always keeping the supply much lower than the demand to maintain exclusivity - in short: no boutique can get more quota bags than it could sell). The story of walking into a boutique for the first time and leaving with a K or B isn’t new at all, it’s actually factored into each boutique’s quota for when the store manager decides to “fulfill the wish” of a lucky walk-in client who genuinely seems passionate about the Maison; it’s happened to at least 7 people I know - long before the influencer world was even a thing. What’s different now is that a lot of those passionate walk-ins are people who have a platform where they can tell the story, therefore the odds are much higher for an influencer to get offered a B or K and tell the story on YT, which in turn has lately snowballed and generated more interest in Hermès among influencers who haven’t even considered it or thought it attainable before.
A dear friend of mine, a WOC, very successful - went into the Hermes store in London. She wanted to purchase a scarf for herself as a reward for getting a large promotion. She was told, and I quote, "I cannot sell you anything as you cannot afford anything we sell". No kidding, that's what she was told. She turned on her heel and left the store, outraged. But she felt her choice was to either argue and try to "prove" herself or spend her money elsewhere. I am so happy for you Karen, but I have no time for that nonsense.
You should report the person to head office. They state that their SAs should be the complete opposite of what you described, so I'd report the bugger. Maybe they'll make amends...some hope!
That is absolutely despicable service! As someone who has had experience serving everyday customers to VIP clients on the other side of the counter in a luxury store, I'm appalled. That sales associate should have been reported immediately.

Yep, a lot of us are broke....but many are NOT, and can afford it...but agree sure sales have leveled off....because we are are primarily at home...so what’s the point...in Karen’s case ...she celebrated a milestones!

why do they need approval to sell the bag? Is it for the purpose of maintaining an air of exclusivity? I just find it strange that they'd say no to a customer who has the money to pay for their products.
I also feel like its like you said from the side of exclusivity and its not being a mainstream bag/ brand to buy from think about it...... if that bag was so easily accessible how many people you would see with it on instagram, i think they want their brand to remain classic and timeless and not become a trend brand, along with their pieces. i hope that makes sense

i have two bags very beautiful in fine letter one tun colour the other black Spanish made its vintage an very closer to the Kelly bag wherever I go the women look and became very confused thinking if its or not an HERMMES CREATION. I just enjoy it. And it only cost me £400. I saw a woman on RUclips she bought a Christian Dior candle for £75 and it didn't came with a lid so she bought a lid for £35 just for the brand . The candle would burn for maybe 10hrs. And finito. Then she bought books of CHANNEL, TOM FORD, AND LV. Just to place on her coffee table. To impress people . She has no class, it born with you. Its Oky she deserve it later they sell it as it upgrades at all time and there is a market for it. Good luck to Karen I am sure if she would have seen my bags she would have been crazy as well.

Congratulations on your 10 years on you tube and on getting that Kelly bag. It's beautiful. But really, it's not surprising to me that they let you have it. They know who you are. They asked you all the right questions. You are a huge influencer who truly has style. Some other you tubers use designer bags as an investment and merely a way to make money on the trading of them. Meanwhile, they compare and criticize the lines they bought on social media. You win the prize!
Covid may have been hard on these luxury brands' sales. Your purse & scarf are stunning. Personally, I'm too frugal to buy these types of items & I have a strong aversion to snobby sales assistants.

My humble theory on why you got the bag? Super stylish - confident - chic woman with awesome accent walks into the store-----they want people like you with their bag! You are a great example of how a heritage piece can be styled in a current (non stuffy way)!!!! Walked into a Hermes Store in Copenhagen with a dear friend to admire the scarves. Explained we didn't want to buy ( can't afford yet!) but wanted to look at their beauty and design. The SA was so lovely and told us so much about the artists behind the scarves etc. We were joined by another SA and spent many minutes chatting. As we left without buying anything we were both handed a goody bag! We were honest and real- I guess you got your bag because you were honest and real too. It's a special memory.

Congratulations!!! Regarding dressing well to designer stores or appointments, I used to work at Harrods in Knightsbridge and they teach sales assistants to never judge anyone. Can’t say all the S.A’s act that way but, a lot of very rich people don’t even dress up when they go shopping. They walk around in sweats. So never feel embarrassed at these designer stores, they don’t know your bank account! Have fun and enjoy browsing if you can’t afford just yet ❤️❤️
Natasha I was treated like royalty in an LV boutique a few years ago. I was awed at the SA’s knowledge of the brand heritage. That experience has ruined me for all other boutique experiences though!
I agree to not need to dress up. I deliberately DIDN'T wear visible logos and just had on what you saw in the video: thrifted mens coat with black underneath with Zara boots that the Hermes SA really loved LOL! It's about YOU as a person I reckon? Regardless of what you wear.

Agreed. Some the friendliest service I ever received was when I went to the Jimmy Choo store. Super nice lady, very knowledgeable and frankly couldn't do enough for me. when I was there. Made the whole experience a pleasure. I liked her so much I went back and brought some more shoes a few weeks later.

If I had that type of money I would get one custom made to my liking...but not referring to Hermès...more so for any handbag designer. At least it would be more to my taste, unique, and I had more involvement in selecting the items for it. Hermès is too hyped up just like any other luxury brand in my opinion.
It takes a whole day to make one Kelly and two days to make a birkin. They are handcrafted in France and are incredible quality. They can’t just mass produce them to sell to anyone that wants one

For the 1st time someone that seems more normal, natural, herself that does not like/believe in whats called ‘the Hermes game’ with no purchase history but at the same time can afford the bag. I highly suspect that a lot of the influencers you’re seeing purchasing these, are buying very good and expensive dupes. I trust Karen and don’t think she’d lie to us, but some other influencers i do look at sideways. I used to work in big magazines and a lot of editors who were still lower on the editor tier (so they weren’t getting all the amazing free pr stuff) but still wanted to flex like they would get insane dupes. The dupes aren’t cheap either, some can go for $2k-$3k which is expensive but compared to an actual Kelly bag is pocket change, and i think they’re passing it off as real

They need to meet sales targets so granting wishes, especially if you’re an influencer, is the easiest way to do that without damaging their reputation by doing things like pr packages or sales or uploading their bags online. No one could ever walk into the store and get a black or gold birkin off the bat it was months at the very least unless you were rich as fuck before the pandemic

How quota bags are produced and distributed among the boutiques would make it next to impossible that Hermès ends up with a number of Kellys or Birkins lying around unwanted, even with the pandemic (each season’s POs have been placed in the previous Feb and July, which means Karen’s bag has been ordered by the boutique and approved by Paris way after the pandemic hit.. not sure if that makes sense but the whole PO process is very calculated and straightforward for the specific reason of always keeping the supply much lower than the demand to maintain exclusivity - in short: no boutique can get more quota bags than it could sell). The story of walking into a boutique for the first time and leaving with a K or B isn’t new at all, it’s actually factored into each boutique’s quota for when the store manager decides to “fulfill the wish” of a lucky walk-in client who genuinely seems passionate about the Maison; it’s happened to at least 7 people I know - long before the influencer world was even a thing. What’s different now is that a lot of those passionate walk-ins are people who have a platform where they can tell the story, therefore the odds are much higher for an influencer to get offered a B or K and tell the story on YT, which in turn has lately snowballed and generated more interest in Hermès among influencers who haven’t even considered it or thought it attainable before.
A dear friend of mine, a WOC, very successful - went into the Hermes store in London. She wanted to purchase a scarf for herself as a reward for getting a large promotion. She was told, and I quote, "I cannot sell you anything as you cannot afford anything we sell". No kidding, that's what she was told. She turned on her heel and left the store, outraged. But she felt her choice was to either argue and try to "prove" herself or spend her money elsewhere. I am so happy for you Karen, but I have no time for that nonsense.

i have two bags very beautiful in fine letter one tun colour the other black Spanish made its vintage an very closer to the Kelly bag wherever I go the women look and became very confused thinking if its or not an HERMMES CREATION. I just enjoy it. And it only cost me £400. I saw a woman on RUclips she bought a Christian Dior candle for £75 and it didn't came with a lid so she bought a lid for £35 just for the brand . The candle would burn for maybe 10hrs. And finito. Then she bought books of CHANNEL, TOM FORD, AND LV. Just to place on her coffee table. To impress people . She has no class, it born with you. Its Oky she deserve it later they sell it as it upgrades at all time and there is a market for it. Good luck to Karen I am sure if she would have seen my bags she would have been crazy as well.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people getting Hermès bags this year with little to no purchase history, maybe they were impacted by COVID a lot.
Excess stock, especially in big cities like NYC, due to lack of tourism + people spending less on lux goods. Great time to get one if you’ve been looking!

So I generally watch for the street fashion videos, I’ve heard of Hermes handbags but that’s it. Out of curiosity, I googled the price. 😳 And then on top of it, they make you think it’s an opportunity you have to earn? lol I can’t. This luxury world is so foreign yet fascinating to me.

My humble theory on why you got the bag? Super stylish - confident - chic woman with awesome accent walks into the store-----they want people like you with their bag! You are a great example of how a heritage piece can be styled in a current (non stuffy way)!!!! Congratulations!!! I've heard that big city stores are not moving inventory (esp NYC) so it's easier to get a bag now. with everyone getting vaccinated and the world returning to normal, this might not be the case soon- so you have impeccable timing!

Imagine if you are the associate at Hermès & you have this power to decide. The next person after you might get totally declined & the next get a bag in 6 months etc..they probably just decide by their feelings that day or vibes they get
