  • This video shows you how to take care of your KARATE GI.
    Q & A:
    1)
Q: How often should I wash my GI?
A: This depends on your sweating. Personally we wash our
GI no later than the third training.
    2)
Q: What is the used detergent in this video?
    A: www.dax-sports....
    3)
Q: Which temperature should I choose to wash my GI?
A: We recommend 30°C or below
    4)
    Q: Can I use a dryer?
A: NOOOOOO!!!! This will destroy the material
    5)
    Q: Can I use strength spray/spray starch?
A: Yes, if you like. But it will not last long
    6)
Q: How can I clean stains?
A: Gall Soap works good for us
    7)
Q: Is there a difference of ironing my GI for a training or a competition?
A: For competition you should iron your GI thorough. For training it´s just important that your GI looks good. Otherwise it`s disrespectful to your sensei/trainer and training partners.

As a BJJ man - I love and really appreciate this video. BJJ has this weird stigma around ironing Gi's and it really annoys me. I wash my Gi after every session (I have 2 in rotation) - I hang dry it, then I will ALWAYS iron it. It's a respect thing for me personally, I want to respect the gym and my coach by looking as presentable as possible, respect my teammates by having a clean and well presented uniform and also respect myself by looking like I care.
Too many guys & girls rock up to training looking like a wrinkled bin bag and smelling like a week of training sessions.

Thanks for the video, exactly what i was looking for. I just received a new Tokaido kata master. What a beauty!
To keep away training stains , i use a good dose of white vinegar in the cold water wash cycle. Whitening but soft on cotton fabric. Cheers!

Finally, my kata master athletic gi arrived today after ordering in mid December, hallelujah! And it looks amazing. Also took delivery of the kumite version a couple weeks ago, and love it too. With the kumite one I don't need to iron it, being 100% polyester it doesn't crease. I always hang my gi on coat hangers as if it were a suit, that way I get no creases.

Ironing Tip: Royalty when they iron the shirts of the Princes will start on the shoulders & sleeves first. Why? The being when you iron the sleeve AFTER ironing the front and back you get wrinkles. OK, Gi's are a bit firmer in fabric but it is good principle to work with for a great looking Gi. (BTW, open the Gi and iron the shoulder over the end of the ironing board and you will not get that press line in the shoulder)

The bag in this video is a prototype. If there is a high demand for a bag like this, TOKAIDO will go in serial. Therefore its important to write us in the comments what you think about such a bag.

I’ve found that Fels Naptha soap and a soft bristle brush is a good way to get stubborn stains out of a GI. Wet the brush and rub it on the Fels Naptha bar to pick up some soap and then wet the spot and scrub to gets a good lather and lift the stain. Then toss in the wash per normal.

Alles Kinderkram.

    • @KenSato-IljaSmorguner
      @KenSato-IljaSmorguner  7 лет назад +2

    • @KenSato-IljaSmorguner
      @KenSato-IljaSmorguner  6 лет назад +2

wasch Deinen Gi am besten bei maximal 40°. So bleibt der Gi am längsten haltbar und geht auch am langsamsten ein. Wenn er brüchig wird oder Löcher hat hol Dir am besten einen neuen.
