Go with the 92, Just picked one up today. Mag availability is much better with the 92 since it just takes any standard AK Mag. You will have a much harder time finding 85 5.56 mags. If it somehow took AR mags the 85 would be a better option but it doesn't. I may be wrong but I think the only one making the 5.56 mags is zastava.
The Zastava 85 is better. The low recoil of the 223/556 round makes it more manageable and better aiming. Both guns are SICK and I’m feeling the set-ups but I’m leaning toward the 85.

The M85 is just a better choice. The ammo is more produced here in the states and with the Russian ammo ban the 7.62 rounds will become more and more scarce until a company begins manufacturing them, and even then it'll be expensive.
M92 is better period. Out of those barrel lengths, 7.62x39 performs much much better than 5.56x45. Both guns have an effective range of 300 yards. The 5.56x45 is coming out of that 10 inch barrel at the BARE MINIMUM. 5.56x45 NEEDS to be traveling at above 2500 fps when it hits its target in order to inflict the damage it is supposed to inflict. Without that velocity, the round lacks stopping power and is not a very good man stopper. You have to understand that 5.56x45 was originally designed to be used with the M16 that utilized a 20inch barrel. That 20 inch barrel gives the 5.56x45 the velocity it needs to reach 600 yards and still kill in very few hits. You also gotta understand that 5.56 at the time was designed to be as lethal as 30 caliber projectiles were and the high velocity is what makes this happen. A 5.56x45 out of a 20 inch barrel will have around 3000-3200 fps with most ammunition excluding specially hot reloads or specialty ammo. Out of a 10 inch barrel like the M85, it has a muzzle velocity of 2500 fps. So what that means is, this gun has an effective range max of like 300 yards before its doing jack shit to the bad guys. It also has a ton of trouble with penetration. And out of a 10 inch barrel that's going to be 10x worse than if it were a 20 inch barrel. Glass, water, drywall studs, thick vegetation, all this shit effects 5.56x45 badly. Even out of a 20 inch barrel. This is why M855 was designed out of m193 failures during the Vietnam war. The m16 was having a much tuffer time being effective in the dense jungles where as the 7.62x39 was carving straight through shit to find its target. The 5.56x45 hits shit and it changes its flight path. The lightweight round is point blank, easily effected by shit. The 7.62x39 doesn't give a fuck about cover. It destroys that shit. 7.62x39 only loses like 200 fps velocity in a 10 inch barrel from the 16 inch barrel AK's. And 5.56x45 loses 700.. Look I understand we are American and patriotism and all this nonsense. but 5.56x45 is NOT the best round out there. IDC how many people use it in their militaries.
