- The final episode of the 1998-99 series of A Question of Sport, with on-location links by Sue Barker, Ally McCoist and John Parrott from Wimbledon, wrapped around highlights of the series.
This was the second Sue Barker-hosted series of QoS, but the first to have been 'modernised' with new theme music and titles , a new set and a more lighthearted approach, as can be seen in these clips.
Also look out for the BBC's Wimbledon '99 trailer at the end of this video, this QoS special having been broadcast on the first Monday of that year's tournament.

Sue, John and Ally were the peak years of this show.
Best team captains and host this programme ever had. It was so obvious they all loved working together and were great friends.

@@sampugh5674 I was a bit young for this, my childhood memories of question of sport were when Frankie Dettori and Ally Mccoist as captains, then later Matt Dawson and Phil Tuffnel. The show has massively gone downhill now, got rid of sue as well. A Shadow of its former self.

Apart from the series with Ian and Bill these 2 were brilliant but when i had sports men and women on the show and it was about sport

I started watching when it was Emlyn Hughes and Bill Beaumont. I think Ally and John was the best era, hence the search and this video.
Not too sure too childish for me John was trying too hard forced laughter Ally was fine

George Best calling Parrot an actor
It's the iconic A Question of Sport theme tune. Sue Barker is the best host (its an injustice that she has been sacked by the BBC!! 🤬🤬🤬). I miss John Parrott as he was the best team captain imo. Its just a pity that he was paired with a Arsehole like Ally McCoist. AMc should have been given the boot after his first series.
I know Parrott left to spend time with his family and concentrate on his Snooker career but I wish he would have stayed on as Parrott vs Dettori, Dawson or Tufnell would have been TV gold.
Ally McCoist was the best thing to happen to Question of Sport.
Why the hate?
Take that back about McCoist you old bin
