Lol the “Usted” and “Tu” part depends on how you get along with your parents. Im Mexican and I do say Tu to mine but there’s many others that refer to them as “Usted” it just depends. :)

EXACTLY! It’s being respectful, that part annoyed me for some reason. Growing up with Mexican parents I was always taught to say “usted.” It’s formal towards the older and elder people. Saying “tu” is informal so I would just say that around cousins, friends, siblings.
