Good summary. FYI, there is an excellent miniatures expansion available called Dark Horde. It was included as part of the all-in Kickstarter package (Azkol's Fortune).
There is also a larger game mat that was offered during the kickstarter. This allowed more room for the miniatures from the Dark Horde. I can't wait to get my copy.
Awesome video! I went all in on the Kickstarter so I got the game, mat, sleeves, Alliances expansion and Dark Horde miniatures expansion. So glad I did! Got my mat Friday and the rest Saturday. The miniatures are gorgeous and truly do add to the experience. I played the original as a kid because my dad (still) has it and Restoration Games has done an amazing job bringing this into the modern era. Can't wait for next weekend's game night with friends!
Nice work, Kim! Minis (to replace the cardboard tokens) were offered during the Kickstarter as an optional add-on. I got a set and they look great. Not sure if they'll be offered for retail sale.
Do yourself a favor, if you get the minis in the Dark Horde expansion, get the giant play mat too. Conversely, if you get the giant play mat, get the Dark Horde expansion. The two compliment each other very well.
...which fits the price policy of this "toy" perfectly - and should actually be a "No Go", considering the environmental situation we'll leave to our kids. The use a small power supply or rechargebles is mandatory, IMHO. I really like the tower, the app is great - gosh, I WANTED this game. But when I filled the basket with base game, plus the stuff you just WANT to have to get started; it almost reached the 250$ mark! With that kind of money I can get three or more, different top notch board games. Is this one really that good? Well... I put the stuff back "on the shelves" and left the shop, somehow embarresed, but completely frustrated. A pity this doesn't get mentioned in this, otherwise niceely done, video...
Mine had rechargable batteries. One set had lasted 3 games so far. Now the device training the app? Better have it plugged in cause wow the app is a battery sucker.
Great review. I concur!! I just got back from Pax Unplugged convention in Philly and bought the whole set. The expansion give you all the minis now and one other expansion gives you guilds and other additional things plus two characters to play. It is a little more complex but really fun. I just bought a battery charger with 8 aa batteries for about 30 bucks. Make this a purchase if you buy the game. 3 aa batteries will get eaten every 3-4 games. As for time played. Our first game with 4 people lasted almost exactly 2 hours and we were learning the game. Our second two person game lasted 105 minutes and we were chit chatting a lot to other people so it could have went faster and our last game was a bit over an hour with an epic ending against the boss which had us using warriors and spirit from “both”players to defeat him. The ending came down to our final advantage being used on the last card and all warriors were used except 1. Crazy epic battle!! Love this game!! I just went to backerkit.com and final backed the expansion coming out called covenant. Now I have to wait for it. Sigh. Lol
Oh one thing about the dark horde expansion it also has minis for the irritating quest markers that fall apart. I love them. It makes the game come alive

FYI, my first set of batteries lasted through multiple games without issue and it supports rechargeables.
Really need that lazy susan for my board.
(It's Kim's final thoughts - title says Shea's :) )
argh thank you! pilot error on my part there! :)
Excellent review very watchable. Enjoyable and extremely thorough. Well done I look forward to more videos from you thank you
Strange she said it eat through batteries. All the other reviews said they will last for several games.
well, for a second opinion, paulo the guy who does goof checking on the channel confirms that in his experience it's a battery hog :)
I've only play mine one so far. So I'll have to see for myself.
