I know All about dover I'm from Delaware, and it's such a decline. I used to walk with my family down lokerman and no its junkie street. Not to be funny but I wish all the residents and businesses owners would get together and decide on installing speakers in office windows on the floor and play chers early 99 album be played on a loop for 48 hours I guarantee they would move on. I understand being homeless because I was there but I never got there by doing junk there could be rehab vans on every corner when the music starts and they would get in the van just to get away from cher.
Statistics by percentage is misleading. In a way, Dover is broken up into sections like Long Island, NY. You have rich, middle, and lower income sections. Most crime occurs in the hard hit sections just like on L.I. There is little to no MS-13 activity here. The neighborhood I live in looks generally like Hicksville, L.I. except with more land between the houses. And for that, my house/school taxes are 1,500/yr. total -with a full basement and 2 car attached garage. Overall, Dover is cleaner than most places in NY state. There exists a small but manageable homeless issue here, but not verging on out of hand like Saratoga Springs, NY where we moved here from. There is very little litter on the streets and highways unlike a lot of NY state. The capital and business district are well maintained. There is a decent, functional police presence here. I'm always meeting people moving here from NY, NJ, PA, MD, and Wilmington, DE. The house prices are slowly rising here, and most homes are on market less than a week in my neighborhood. Rte. 13 in Dover is building up fast. We are equidistant from Lewes, beaches, and great shopping at the Christiana mall. Also, inland enough so we're less flood and hurricane damage prone.
Things feel different when you live somewhere. If I looked at the stats where I live prior to moving here I would never have moved in - But I feel completely safe even though the numbers aren't good
Some aggressive drivers out here dont realize they are committing a crime lets just think its ok to ride someones bumper & the speed 55 from cheswoldbto Smyrna its a joke. its so scarry. What the hell has happened to Dover. & no traffic cops its shameful. I cant believe what i see out here on rte 13 some are driving 75
Was just back for a visit. I'm amazed at the extent of the decline, and it was never a jewel to begin with.
What a scary place
Hell yeah just gotta watch who you be around

You can say all types of shit based on statistics but how can you say things like this without ever living there?
