As we know their is a line we all use "Idols are not Robots". Robotic sounds are added to the song with the context of Idols are Humans, not Robots that can be Controlled by Simon but with the song "Simon equates to PUBLIC". I removed the Haka part, since it has offended some of our Maori friends. SM Entertainment, NCT's Production and Management Team in Particular already apologised to the usage of Haka in the Song.

So my initial thought about the “horse” sound seems to be totally right. It’s definitely the Nazgul sound effect from Lord of the Rings. I played them one after the other and they pretty much match.
I don't think I've ever been so early lmao. This reaction was amazing. And honestly I didn't pay enough attention earlier to realize that they used horse sounds as well and I'm mind blown. It's great to see how such weirdly different sounds work so well together. Can't wait for the other reactions
it seems like a ton of ppl hated this song but i LOVED it. everything about it makes complete sense to me. the harmonies are fantastic. the slightly off-beat rapping that goes with the whole "we're different" theme. haechan's voice oh my lord he sounds like a freaking angel. switching to major in the chorus. HOLY SHIT THE CHORUS IS SO GOOD. it reminds me a lot of a creepy nursery rhyme, like "ring around the rosie," which to me kind of ties into the whole simon says/indoctrination/obey theme because children are expected to all participate in singing nursery rhymes. it's like the chorus is very straight and narrow while the verses are more rebellious. also the walking in a circle reminded me of the baekhyun x loco mv which just adds to the whole "break from the status quo" thing. oh my god it's so good. they change it up at exactly the right time. it's experimental yet safe at the same time. structurally speaking, it's completely normal but each section changes up so much it keeps you on your toes. it's such a fantastic song and mv and choreography and concept i don't understand how anyone could dislike it.
"They're having vocalists rap too" jaehyun actually started out as rapper but later changed to vocal so he can do both but sm always gives taeyong and mark the rap parts so jaehyun automatically gets vocal parts :)

Simon Says is PEAK NCT. When it first came out i thought omg this sounds exactly like how I expect NCT to sound. I have a lot of fave nct songs but simon says is like their most representative song for me tbh like if someone asks what nct's music is like, it's this. It's not public friendly, it's not trendy, it's not something you'd usually hear and that's what makes it so nct. So not generic. Doesnt go with the trends, but has their own style

The sample at the beginning is actually a traditional Maori Haka chant from New Zealand. Traditionally they are war chants done to intimidate enemy tribes. It remains popular with sports teams from New Zealand performing it before matches most famously with the All Blacks who play Rugby union and have been dominant this century in the sport.
The intro was a chant that the natives of New Zealand used and still do to this day(In rugby and traditional things), called the Haka. As a native(Maori) myself im grateful to have heard this, and you guys reacting to this song.... peace😎🤘🤘🤘

The sample at the beginning is actually a traditional Maori Haka chant from New Zealand. Traditionally they are war chants done to intimidate enemy tribes. It remains popular with sports teams from New Zealand performing it before matches most famously with the All Blacks who play Rugby union and have been dominant this century in the sport.
