- The Israeli military has announced it has pulled all but one brigade of its soldiers from southern Gaza. An Israeli brigade is typically made up of a few thousand troops. Israeli media reports say ground operations are now likely to focus on intelligence-based, targeted raids only.

I called this five months ago, Isreal is going to take Northern Gaza from the Palestinians. They have already reduced it to rubble to force out the majority of Palestinians. This is the same tactic they used in 1948.

But I don't think the Israeli government gives it shoot at this point.
In 1967 Israel defeated the regular armies of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan in SIX DAYS. In 2024 after SIX MONTHS of fighting Israel has not defeated Hamas which is penned up in a 140 square mile area with no tanks, planes, or artillery.

There is a potential silver lining after the end of the war. Both Israel and Gaza can choose wisely in regard to who leads then into the future.
Tunnel guerilla warfare is more difficult than conventional face to face battles. As evidenced in historical urban battles of ww2. Can take months or years to root a well entrenched army in a city.

Maybe the U.S. threat of conditioning military aid to Israel according to humanitarian standards was actually enforced.
Please don't take my idea or opinion seriously. Now you say Israel pulls all its troops but just leave one brigade out of southern Gaza. That might mean that Israel feels that Iran would smash its troops in the southern Gaza, and Israel might feel that Hamas and Hezbollah fighters would strike Israeli cities from the northern Gaza, so Israel must pulls out of its troops from the southern Gaza and to deploy more of its troops to northern Gaza just in case the a warning threats from Iran are real.
