One obvious issue in this episode is that the Southern Shaolin temple did not preserve Wu Zhu Quan until present day, in fact scholars couldn't even prove that a Southern Shaolin truly existed in history. The current Southern Shaolin temple was built in recent years based on the popular myth instead of real history, and the Wu Zhu Quan they are practicing today were taught to them by Wu Zhu Quan disciples from civilian branch in Fujian, it offers no conenction or evidence of the original Southern Shaolin if there was even such a temple in real history. In Chinese language a stick taller than eyebrow height is called 棍 （Gun）, shorter than eyebrow height is known as 棒 (Bang), if one look up the word 棒 in a dictionary they will get the translation "cudgel", however that is not the correct word to use in this particular case. Cudgel in English refers to a short wooden weapon along the same fashion as a club, however 棒 (Bang) is nothing like a club, its simply a shorter version of 棍 (Gun), so the correct phrase to use should be "Staff".
