Yes, I would try! Im mainly concerned about two heat sessions in one sitting. Is that required all at once? I really don’t want to break my hair off. I doubt I’d do more than 2 passes at once, also. Again, I hope to loosen my texture but I don’t want breakage. My hair is very finicky. I’ll copy my other questions from your short vid (note).
Unfortunately the two heat sessions is necessary for the keratin treatment; but if your careful and take your time; you should be good! I can’t wait to hear your questions. It may be enough for me to do a whole video!
Yes but I wouldn’t do the double flat ironing process you did. I use the Ion products and only flat iron once. I’ve gotten a keratin treatment at the salon and they didn’t do the double process either.
@@SweetE1403 im a stylist, there’s a bunch of different kinds of keratin treatments and they have different techniques, some require heat and iron multiple times, and some you just do it once ( the one single process one) , even so, your hair is protected after you apply the keratin treatment due to its ability to seal the hair cuticle, so it should not damage regardless if you know what your doing and follow directions to the T. Technique used during the process also makes a huge difference on the outcome, like getting rid of the texture or still having some.
Thanks so much! Tbh when I first saw that I lost my curls, I wanted to cry. But after learning that it's just a temporary change I felt better. And now after having the keratin treatment in my hair for a week already, and seeing how shiny, flowly, and little frizz my hair has I'm like why didn't I do this a long time ago!?!
I did an at home keratin treatment years ago from a box kit and it was awesome! They later discontinued the brand and I never saw it again. I love my natural hair and it's coils...I can do wash and gos perfectly on my hair...but really nothing else. I really want to heat train my hair but am a but nervous... mainly because I naturally have high porosity hair and don't want heat damage. My hair can sweat out straightened hair very quickly. So, I am now interested in getting a keratin treatment done professionally. Hoping to minimize heat damage, yet retaining my hair in it's stretched state....I'm really scared I haven't had my hair professionally done in over 10 years...😬... BTW... your hair came out GORGEOUS!😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🔥🔥🔥...I will keep watch on your curls returning as well!...I really hope they do! 🤗
Thanks girl!!! And omg going to a stylist can be such a hit or miss; I would be nervous as well. I think you’ll be fine if you do a lot of research on the ones in your area who have the best reviews. I got a keratin treatment from my stylist and I don’t remember my curls falling so it’s a possibility that if you get a professional keratin you can keep your coils and play with straighten styles! 🤞🏽
I used to do my own treatments back in the day when they were really popular. I just couldn't deal with the fumes. The one I used had max formaldehyde too. I wasn't health conscious at all back then but those fumes were giving me issues and of course I was not in a well ventilated area...small apartment bathroom. I'm not going there again but I do hear the stuff on the market now is a lot better concerning the formaldehyde.
Sierra, your hair turned out amazing and wow that shine 💜. Looking forward to seeing your results after a couple of washes. Going to the salon for one is so expensive. Hopefully you have great results with this at home one.
I’ve consistently been using CHI’s Keratin Silk Press line; it comes with a Shampoo, Conditioner, Leave In & Silk Serum + I would deep condition & use a heat protectant when blow drying as well. My hair looked shiny, healthy, full & bouncy, grew out faster than usual & was so easy to manage with my daily life. I got SO many hair compliments. But even though I’m not sure if this line is considered a legit “keratin treatment,” I noticed my curls would revert less & less over time & girl I wanted to CRY as well when one day my hair was drenched but STRAIGHT! However, videos like yours helped me realize it should be temporar & gave me hope. I’m at the end of month 1 of no heat + the Curls “Poppin Pineapple Collection” & I can see my curls definition is busting back out! I hope yours does as well if that what you hope for in the future. Thanks for sharing your stories so honestly! 🩵
So glad your curls are coming back!!! My heart def sank when I saw how much my curls relaxed after the keratin; they took their time coming back but I will say they def did come back!
girl i’m in the same boat i spent $400 for this treatment at the salon today🥲 but GIRL it’s so nice i’m so happy my hair is flourishing!!! usually if i flat iron my hair it poofs after an hour but not with this treatment!!!!
It definitely wasn't intentional, smh. But it's a great option for someone who wants to temporarily loosen their curls! I'll have all the dets in the video!
Sierra LaFaye: cool, thx, hope it’s permanent (for me!). Watching now ☺️. Edit: I like what you said at the end. I am that 4c person - & I’ve heat trained for years and my texture is still tight and reverts back (unfortunately). I only care that my hair is NOT BREAKING. Texture change is a bonus 👍🏾
Thanks girl! & very rarely but I know that feeling you're talking about. Try an intensive deep conditioning and/or hot oil treatment. You may need a little bit more trimmed off...is your hair color treated?
I did cut my hair! Working on a video explaining more details. However the longest I was able to get it was bottom of my bra strap; not quite waist length; but that’s the goal this time around!
Tie your hit in a low or high bun. Make sure all the hair is pulled back. Then put a scarf on. Then use a bonnet then a shower cap. Triple protection keeps your hair from reverting in the shower :).
I had this done professionally. It looked amazing but after 6 months my hair just started to break off. I learned since that these have a relaxer in them. Not strong like a straight relaxer but the same chemicals that break the bonds. I guess the keratin in it helps with keeping hair stronger but I’m of a certain age and my hair gave up the ghost after this. Bit by bit. I do like to keep my hair really long though so if someone wants bra strap or less then I guess it’s good.
After watching this video, would you do a keratin treatment? Make sure you watch it to the end for additional I learned about keratin treatments!

At this point. I’m willing to loose the curls. I’m tired of the frizz…. You have Beautiful hair.

With applying keratin treatments you need to have a well ventilated area and an open window. 10 passes is for best results.
I so wish I would have know about being in a well ventilated area 🤦🏽♀️

Did you experience any hair lose or shedding?
I love my curls but I’m tired of only having one or two nice hair days and then frizz.
Right!!!

Those fumes was too much! I wish I would have known to do it in a well ventilated area
@@sierralafaye there are formaldehyde free keratin treatments girls.

Could you please comment with an update? I’m really curious if the effects lasted! My hair is so thick I cannot afford 400$ at the salon rn. 🤣

I would def give the keratin treatment a try then! If you do, let me know how it works!!
Sierra LaFaye: ugh, I’m back. I think I will try a test patch and see if it loosens my hair the way I want. So yes, I may try this☺️
@@Virtuenow update?
Beautiful hair girl!! Have u ever experienced the ends of your hair being rough or hard after flat ironing it?

Do you still have curly hair after applying keratin? What happens when your hair starts to grow???
Been doing my own hair treatment as well with Mayraki Products ❤❤
I would love to know how your hair feels at about the third or fourth week.
I’ll def keep you updated!
It’s actually stinging your eyes because of the formalin, no way a product would straighten the hair without a strong chemical. X
It also didn't help that I wasn't in a ventilated area, smh.
LOve your results.
Thank you!!
Did you cut your hair? When I watched you a few years ago your hair was waist length?

Oh okay hair still looking thick and luscious also you have resilient af hair!! Can’t believe you did these treatments at home!!😀
Thanks so much ☺️
How do you keep your hairline from reverting in the shower? I wear a shower cap and a headband and still my hairline reverts.

@@cherelliee Thank you
Yep! I also layer up the protection on my edges when I don’t want them to revert!

Sorry to hear about it :( I haven't heard that keratins have some relaxer elements in them, but am def going to look more into it.
I lovee already congrats on 10k 🤍🤍🥰
