"The Midnight Remixed 02" features brand new remixes of more favorites by The Midnight, from "The Years" (off their debut EP, "Days Of Thunder") to "Lost Boy" (the first single from their most recent LP, "Kids"). This time around, we have recruited a cast of (almost) entirely fresh faces on remix detail, including legendary synthwave artist Timecop1983, indie-electronic phenom Uppermost, acclaimed retro-tinged act ERKKA, and deep-and-dark-progressive maestro Nox Vahn. Listening to this at 2am. My window is open with a cool breeze seeping into my skin and my soul is dancing from some of these remixes in the night starry sky 🌃 💃🎶🌌. The remixes may not be for everyone because the originals have that nostalgic synth feel but if you love the "feel"of music just close your eyes,breathe in, and get lost in the rhythm of the it all. Tokyo night my favorite
Bout halfway through, I can say, it's fine, but it isn't what made these songs so great, to turn them into bog standard trance/techno it's, just fine. Many of the originals to me are so much more. Thanks for the new content though
But that Shadows Uppermost remix is so good
To be clear I didn't think anyway were bad, but by making it a mix like that they flow into each other and honestly it's kind of bland. It's fine background music, but at least to me nothing stood out over the originals that I would be like "oh yeah I would rather listen to the shadows remix, then the original". Not shitting on it, just not as good as the originals
@@TomasCyr That's not really what remixes are supposed to do, they're not intended to be "better versions." It's more like The Midnight made apples so the remixers made oranges. They're intended to be alternatives that change up how the song usually goes.
I DJ at a club but I love synthwave. These remixes are a great way to throw some new stuff in to a traditional set.

Love the fact you guys are still active. Just would rather hear the 80’s-style albums y’all are known for. I want to put a cassette in my car and travel back to the 80’s. Still will buy the cassettes and a tee or two at some point

We couldn't quite fit that remix in the continuous mix -- it's the only omission.
I love The Midnight but this is mostly uptempo edm techno kinda stuff. Not my flavor at all. Arcade Dream's and Shadows' was great though.
Eh, it's alright? I'd be interested to see some remixes that weren't just your usual trance or EDM. The first album had a few good tracks, I'm not denying that this one has its moments (Nocturnal, Shadows remixes are pretty good), but it just doesn't feel like something I'd go out of my way to listen to.
original songs are better, the faster bpm and stupidly high kicks volumes ruins everything.

What really upsets me about this remix, is the king of retrowave isn’t on the album. *KALAX* is the retrowave king & no one can even fathom differently.
