My last tour was in 2006-2007 at Camp Fallujah (9 months). Actually, in 2003-2004, I was also in and out of Fallujah for missions. I'm a middle aged man now, and I genuinely wish I knew then what I know now. Parts of Iraq were absolutely beautiful. I'd love to go back, but I know it would be hard for me. My last tour was so stressful and traumatic, that I honestly thought I wasn't going to make it back. Thanks for making this video. I'm genuinely happy things are starting to look better over there.
Most of the Iraqi cities have been rebuilt and developed. The war ended a long time ago and we are living a normal life now. I am from Baghdad and I live in a small city. There was no explosion or bombing in my city. I watched a video on your channel about Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets. I love the National Hockey League. Patrick Kane was my favorite player with Jonathan Toews. I will never forget how Artemi Panarin played with Patrick Kane. I loved this duo. I am excited for this season because Matvey michkov will play with Philadelphia. respect from iraq ❤ 🇮🇶

Damn. Never thought I'd see Fallujah look like that (positive way). I was there in late 04 and early 05. Thrown in with RCT7. Hell the convoy to Fallujah was no cake walk either. Left at night from Camp TQ and Took Highway 11. They lit our ass up with small arms fire and RPGs. Spent most of my time patrolling The Clover Leaf as well as the entrance to the Hospital and Rail Road Tracks on the East side of the city. After the battle wound down and was wrapped up, went back again in January of 05 for the elections. Doing pat downs and security for the Iraqi People. Got to work a little bit with the ING (Iraqi National Guard) while they still existed. Hard to believe it's been over 20 years. No aspirations of going back.
It's wild seeing these comments...as a 23 yrs that was forced to stay alive amidst the war while the American soldiers destroyed my country and got to leave while i had to live through it all.. i mean i don't hate them that much but it does irritate me. Im sure many Americans have now grown to realize their mistakes and us the younger generation have embraced the American culture and language a lott so unfortunately even amidst it all we did love the American shows and free culture.

Samarra is probably where I'd go first, but really I'd like to drive the length of MSR Tampa; from Navistar up to Mosul, and all the places I wished we had more time to check out (and weren't being shot at). There's the old spiral minaret in Samarra, ancient ruins and the rivers, beautiful date palm plantations & houses with their bread ovens, farms and their irrigation, the kids and friendly people despite everything, the roadside markets & cafes, beautiful sunsets & sunrises.... It's good to see it all coming back.
As a person who lives in Fallujah, its just a normal town nowadays, and people still think its a hellhole ( it kinda is in temperature, send help, im burning) but its just a basic city, we recovered, we receoverd a couple years ago.

That's not helping Iraq or any other country in your "war on terror" but rather make problems worse. I watched a video in Aleppo, Syria from Bald & Bankrupt and the local resident wished foreign troops wpuld leave so the local people can rebuild themselves. Simply put they want to be left alone ✌️
@@ijfisjjf1916 I held an Iraqi citizenship, then became an American so my old Iraqi citizenship is now null and void. If I went back to Iraq I would be treated as an American because that’s what my citizenship is.
