So lemme get this straight McKinley was a high school QB who switched to WR, to play sooner. Newton was a WR who went to QB? I'm confused, but...that was a completely awesome play by Spurrier. THAT is why I love the Gamecocks!
ppl forget about spurrier, but he is one of the greatest offensive minds college football has EVER seen!!! and this is coming from a die hard bama fan!! RTR!!
Even with the trick play, that had to be a great throw- two opposing players down there with the intended receiver. Bold stuff. Glad it paid off. We need plays like that every once in a while to shake things up.
Spurrier was not the first one to do this. I remember that Frank Solich, Eric Crouch, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers pulled a similar play in 2001 against Oklahoma
i think we needed him more at wr tho after sidney rice left. but you might be right tho. i personally think newton should have started all the games till he graduated tho.
lol well i mean every practice the team pretty much goes over a couple trick plays for different scenarios. But Syvelle Newton and Kenny McKinley are both really good athletes and they played their assignments correctly on that play. But if they didnt, anything could have happened.
great play, but man that was dangerous. There was hardly any space for the lateral. The ball was threwn out of a bad position. And it was all done too slow, so the receiver and defenders were already in the endzone. There were three different things that could have gone wrong with that play.
Never saw Kenny when he didn't have that huge, smile on his face! Hard to believe he's gone.
This is how I'll remember #11.
Forever in our Gamecock Nation hearts
100%. Still have his black number 11 jersey from back in the day I got for Christmas as a kid one year
That was incredible! Football needs more plays like this.
I love Urban Meyer, but man do I do miss that Spurrier trickeration! The ol' ball coach has a set of stones!
So lemme get this straight
McKinley was a high school QB who switched to WR, to play sooner.
Newton was a WR who went to QB?
I'm confused, but...that was a completely awesome play by Spurrier. THAT is why I love the Gamecocks!
can't believe that worked! that took so long to develop! that was awesome!!!!
Saw this same exact play again today in the Cap 1 bowl against Wisconsin lol
ppl forget about spurrier, but he is one of the greatest offensive minds college football has EVER seen!!! and this is coming from a die hard bama fan!! RTR!!
Spurrier's an evil genius, alright.
wow!!! I watch this play mid-week every week to get through the week until saturdays
that was so sick, i'll never forget that play
Exactly the same play they ran today against the Badgers
That was.... an AWESOME throw!!!
Bump.
Remembered this play and had to watch it again.
Okay.
This is one of the best plays I have ever seen.
best coach, best plays!!
Wow Kenny you were always my families favorite. RIP we miss you
Exactly, it's a miracle that it even got to the guy who threw the pass, and a bigger miracle that the WR caught it.
Even with the trick play, that had to be a great throw- two opposing players down there with the intended receiver. Bold stuff. Glad it paid off. We need plays like that every once in a while to shake things up.
Great play. Hope to see more trick plays in the future. Go Gamecocks!!!
Omg.. What teamwork. That receiver had 2 people manning him. Skill man, Skill.
In Norway we dont have this sport but you bastards really have great skills :)
"This is not conservative!" Hahaha, great commentary!
RIP Kenny (He's the guy throwing). You were one of my favorite Gamecocks.
Yup, RIP Kenny.
If something like this ever won a superbowl, It would prolly be the highlight of the decade (in sports)
omg what the fugg was that????
Yo give us more.....more of that exciting shinanigans!!!
Lovin it!!!
Man, I don't particularly like football and I must admit THAT was impressive.
i definetly remember this play.. lmao.. my mind went crazy
i love carolina
I don't particularly like Spurrier or South Carolina, but I have to admit that this play is amazing.
We are the Champions ... Roll Tide Roll ...
Holy shit. I'm going to buy his book or anything spurrier has taken part in.
Kenny Is going to Be there when we lift that ship up for him.
That was EPIC!
Oh Steve, you're so dreamy!
Mckinley has a damn good arm!

Kenny McKinley still a legend. RIP Gamecock nation wont forget
I love the "what are they doing?!?!"

OMG THAT WAS AN AWESOME PLAY we soo need to try that vs clemson and see how bad there defence can fail
Actually newton is wide reciever who played quarterback in high school.
rip kenny mckinley, what a play
The Old Ball Coach!
That was an Epic play.
nice call there Andre.
McKinley!!! Rest in peace buddy.
I like how the QB backed off a bit before running up the field
If it works, you're a genius!! If it fails you are a fool!!!
Spurrier was not the first one to do this.
I remember that Frank Solich, Eric Crouch, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers pulled a similar play in 2001 against Oklahoma
To this day when I see the number "11" I think of Kenny McKinley.
LMAO at "OH MAN WHAT ARE THEY DOING???"
i think we needed him more at wr tho after sidney rice left. but you might be right tho. i personally think newton should have started all the games till he graduated tho.
theres the evil genius for ya
We'll miss ya Kenny...
awesome play
good old spurrier
that takes some big balls to call that one
lol that was like hyper speed nice
lol. I laugh at the announcer.
Steve spurrier is the man.
Its like the waterboy
Quez Green to Doug Johnson vs. Florida St, in 1997. Bam. You can take Spurrier out of Florida, but you can't take Florida out of Steve Spurrier! 😁😁😁
the QB pitched it to the HB who reverced with the WR who threw a bomb to the QB in the end zone
idk why i even wrote all that. guess i wasnt in the best mood earlier, and you were the perfect candidate for taking it out on lol. its all good. ;)
"What are they doing!?!?" xD
coach spurrier best coach in college football
great catch
Holy shit. Nice throw
THIS IS NOT CONSERVATIVE! srsly? THAT'S what you first think of? ROFL!!! what an incredible throw for someone who's NOT the QB!
LSU made a dominant comeback, despite Lee's 7th straight pick 6. Such an awesome qb, you want him?!
They won tonight too....7-3...but it's still a W.
RIP Kenny.
OH MAN WHAT ARE THEY DOIN?
damn that was sick!
lol well i mean every practice the team pretty much goes over a couple trick plays for different scenarios. But Syvelle Newton and Kenny McKinley are both really good athletes and they played their assignments correctly on that play. But if they didnt, anything could have happened.
RIP Kenny
"Mckinley wants to throw the football...THIS IS NOT CONSERVATIVE!!"
great call by the anouncers
RIP Kenny McKinley
that one stings a little bit. go cats!
if only carolina could play like that still...spurrier man think us up some plays dude
the wide receiver who threw the ball used to be the quarterback.
he threw to the quarterback, who used to be a wide receiver.
at first, i was like.. CAM NEWTON?!?! but no.. savelle?
Was at this game, talk about a back breaker...
holy crap that was cool.
great throw! wow
good lord... Awesome
sweet throw
Run the football my ASS!! LOL
mckinley is a former qb from mableton ga. newton is trying to get in the nfl now.
This could be titled "Andre Ware Gets Owned by Spurrier."
Kenny (number 11) was also a High School quarterback, so it wasnt too hard for him.
holy shit that was crazy
I love that line.
"And WHAT are they doing, this is NOT conservative!!"
you got to admit spurrier has balls
great play, but man that was dangerous. There was hardly any space for the lateral. The ball was threwn out of a bad position. And it was all done too slow, so the receiver and defenders were already in the endzone. There were three different things that could have gone wrong with that play.
@cjdawdj his name is Sevelle Newton. They clearly said his name in the video
"THIS IS NOT CONSERVATIVE!"
dam good catch
wow that was good!!!
OH MAN WHAT ARE THEY DOING? XD
