Why not weld the return on the outside and then grind it?. Also, do you guys paint the inside a reflective white?. Just wondering if illumination works well without painting the inside. Great job with the videos. Keep up the good work!!
Dont quote me, but it looks like the finish was brushed metal, which is already a pain to work with when welding is concerned. Even if it wasnt, you chance pitting which will involve detailed bondo work. Tig welding would probably be the best for that, if it was an option, because these mig welders most companies use will blast holes through very thin sheets, .040 and on down. .063, you have a chance of it not warping
Not saying all of them are junk, but we have an accubend, and its terrible. I call in an inaccubend. I have to manually shape everything after the returns are made with it, and they're still not perfect because of the machine will bend in the wrong spots, the sizes will be off. And a lot of it is because these knuckleheads wont calibrate it properly
We have a letter bender here in Australia.. it's flawless.. can pump out a 16 letter 10 inch high sign in a few hours. Laser welder would also solve those hard to reach spots
Could be worse. Could be a regular channel piece thats been shaped with an accubend. Believe me, Ive been there. A medical company called Med Star uses similar serifs
Next time save yourself the trouble and order this type of sign from Steelart, US Sign Fabrication or The Signage Factory. Those companies specialize in these types of signs.
Steve did a great job on the video. He's a natural :)
I never would have realized all the work that goes into creating a "small" sign 👏 👏 👏
Yeah, it's ridiculous, lol... :) Love you, Christina!
You the man Steve...🙃
great job on the thin serifs. i was just thickening the stroke on some Garamond letters the other day so they could be fabbed.

Great work!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Small letters like this make me want that Asian bender that scores the metal.
i hate the small ones...had to make a drawing of 4 inches heigh letters made from stainless steel, backlit and plexiglass on the back...hate those lol

Could you have done stick wielding? Asking as someone who only recently entered the sign industry.
