WOW George, what a study you have made of (IMO) the finest rock drummer ever to walk the earth, and to see and hear you play with sticks is an honour, then you play with your hands like it's FIRST nature! Thank you George, Excellent tutorial, I understand everything...….. I just can't play it.
George, Your drums , your tuning, and your sound and your playing are phenomenal . Your friend Bonzoleum watched me play a Moby Dick solo in a nightclub in Florida back in 2016. I was playing on a 1970 Rogers set. Same skins you are using on your Ludwig kit. I didn't have any mics or effects but those drums sounded great. Just like your set here. I wish I could play as well as you.. If you go to RUclips and type in "Joseph Monaco drum solo" you can watch me , but more important the sound of my old drums. Now, I have a 1970 Slingerland set with a 9x13, 16x16, 16x18 and 14x26 and a Slingerland 5 1/2 x14 Radio king snare. It's the best snare I ever had. Anyway, I'm not even near your league of playing, but you might enjoy my drum sounds Tks for your talent.. Joseph
Not enough superlatives to describe your work here and with all your bonham videos. The attention to detail and nuance is remarkable. As always thank you for sharing your time and talent!
You are a damn genius! Amazing how you got down everything.....maybe with the help of these videos someday I'll be ABLE to do this version of Moby Dick. I've already learned several interesting fills from the last tutorial and they've helped out with my band gigs.
Folks playing like this at any age is world class but there is a huge difference doing this at 21 years old and someone in their 40’s matching it note for note a couple of decades makes a huge difference.
Ya, I'd say Bonzo played a few Joe Morello riffs. I hear a lot of it in Bonzo's solos. They both so awesome and you are fantastic reflection of Bonzo, it is great to watch you play. ✌🏽 🍗🍗
George... Definitely the hands segment of the solo was influenced by Joe Morello. Bonzo had to see or hear the Take 5 solo before attempting this. Great stuff!
I've never been happy with my results playing the hands part of Moby Dick. I'd be happy if I could play it almost as good as George or like Lee Pearson. Probably not this lifetime.
you legit replicate perfection of the BONZO! how? I'd love to hear your own style and solos , curious, since you have been developing the Bonham style so closely if it gets into your regular playing?
Well, this will inevitably break the internet once word gets out...
😂

It's tough, I think you have to do it often. The shit hurts!
Not with that attitude.
