It was a pleasure spending time with you. The water conditions where not great but we made the best of it and had some laughs especially when we both fell over in the very same place. The even funnier part of that story is a month later I fell on the same Rock.
Definite pleasure Robert, thank you so much for the time spent and the laughs shared. Great conversations and just enjoying the adventure and journey of hunting for the right kind. It wasn't the best week to be out but I think we made the best of it. Hope to do it again!!
Bluefin are 3 miles off Oceanside/Carlsbad… I got a 115 pounder on the yo-Zuri 150 LC jerk bait… My cousin and I landed 3, lost 2 big ones… Broke my reel 😂😂😂 worth it‼️💪🏽 Monday 8/28 in the red tide , close to the full moon 🤷🏽
I did Bro....drop shot a 4" Kietech Fat boy for 8 or 9 hits but nothing stuck. Sand rags everywhere...I think I was getting hit by perch......thanks for the momentum... @@BenjieKimFishing
Thank you and thank you for the awesome report! MS Anchovy imo might be the best LC color of all time....just a true oldie but goody that everyone should have in their box. Tight lines!
Awesome, I hope so as well. Sometimes it works out perfectly, other times you gotta grind it out. I know for sure that if the fish are around, the LC will get bit 100%. Tight lines!
BK you're always so?? Happily, and knowledgeably sharing your many "secrets" about catching 'butts; with others. Looks like you may have spent 8+ hours beach hopping to catch what you did. That's a tough realization for others who may only have 3-4 hours (or less) to fish and/or search. What's with all the seaweed this year; at least in my more NorCal area?
Hi Ron, yes this session was 100% a challenge. The water was just nasty that week. My friends told me just a few days prior that the water was crystal clear without a smidge of salad anywhere. And they absolutely smashed the halibut that week. That's fishing for ya imo...obsessing over figuring out the when, where, what, and how. Sometimes we get lucky and enjoy "easy" fishing but more often than not, we gotta work for what we get!
I recognize those spots... do you live in the area or made a trip just for the day? I have been getting skunked all summer with the LC, I finally did get a short on the dropshot.
It was part of a 4 day swing up and down the coast. My friends told me that the previous week the water was crystal clear without a hint of salad. Just part of the game, sometimes it lines up and sometimes it doesn't. Just gotta keep going out there and trying to dial in the right timing.
There's no surf fishing in lower San Diego county that I've experienced without TONS OF EEL gRASS AND KELP ETC..this year! It's not even worth it to surf fish around here as far as I'm concerned.
322 halibut getting too small biggest one yet it was 322 lb they get really big right now they're too small probably 100 lb or less it's something's wrong I got the golflander it's kind of square shape orange and a black got the southern flounder I got the door freshwater flounder Orange and black golf louder oval shape got the pig pig for hot flounder round different types of flounder so le Sol Pacific sole halibut Luke fish Southern flounder golfland freshwater spring flounder

That’s something I gotta relearn. It’s ok to skunk 😂
All part of the game!
Can't skunk if you don't fish
It's science.
Nice video as always Benjie! This summer was good for me and my buddy on the luckycraft for halibut. I like ms chovy personally.
