Your dad allowed mine to turn a few wrenches in Joe's garage when he first got started. He was one of the school kids that would hang around the shop sometimes. Richie gave a lot of people good memories that last to this day... I know you're proud of him. We all sure were.
WOW, amazing video. i never thought. i saw this Martinsville Speedway shape look much different 1981 and 2021. Can't believe. good video. i really enjoy to watch NASCAR Modified Tour in RUclips video.
REAL MODIFIED RACING , OH HOW I MISS THE COUPES . now don't get mad at me because i said real . the were not the like the race cars of today ! until 1985 they were MONSTERS if a car hit the wall you would feel it in the seats in the 1970's you wouldn't see a 10 yr. old driving one ! jesus can you believe it .......a ten year old racing a modified well what they call modified anyway's . give me racing in the ( BEAST MACHINES ) 60's & 70's old coupes and ball's of steel !
When I was a kid we used to sneak up to the back stretch at Stafford..(it was only 2 armco barriers tall ) and watch these guys battle. ....i miss them days
I want one or both of the jackets like Joy's & Jenkin's. So cool to me. I love that the Mods are back at Martinsville. I am a proud Virginian and that the most Cup races happen in Va. is really cool for me.
Very rare that bob Jenkins and Mike joy worked together side by side
Mike Joy is amazing, no matter how young or old he is
Martinsville's modified shows were a great mix of the New England/New York guys and the southern modified guys going head-to-head. Great stuff.
This is so neat. I never knew Bob Jenkins and Mike Joy ever worked the booth together.
Great field, Neil Bonnett, Park, Evans very cool
Thank you for putting this online! I am so enjoying watching it over and over....dad was so amazingly talented!!

You related to Richie Evans?
@@shaelaskee9684 I know this was an old post, but Jodi is the daughter of Richie Evans.
Love that camera shot from outside 1&2, proof that you don't need 100s of angles that only see cars for a second.
That theme music before SpeedWorld is absolutely beautiful 😎💯🎉💚
Used to love watching the modifieds at Cayuga speedway in canada friday nights they put on a great show

FIrst time I saw em in person was the twin 125 at Loudon, blew my mind been my fav form of racing since.
Still hard to believe Evans would lose his life in a practice crash here in two or three years!

Back when the modified series was still new
Damn, Mike Joy sounded young.
He was only 31 or 32 at the time, and Bob is 2 years older than that.
@@badbooking3221 I do have an audio recording of the 1977 U.S GP east, with Mike in one of the turns. I didn't recognize him.
