Hello Marshall! You wouldn't believe how I found your channel..... I was reading comments on Jess's channel (Her Two Wheels) and there you were and you mentioned that you did videos so I checked it out. I watched your introduction and Lo and Behold you mentioned that you had a 2014 red Goldwing. So I decided to watch this video. You have a real good voice for RUclips and the best motorcycle for videos. Yes you guessed it..... I have a red/silver 2012 Goldwing that I purchased new on June 26, 2012. All 159,644 klms are mine (99198 miles). I won't even consider it broken in until I hit the 100000 miles club which should be in early May next year since we have 5-6 months of brutal winters way up here in northern Ontario. I just subscribed so keep pumping out more GL1800 videos! (I have a couple short little videos on RUclips if you want a laugh or two lol).
Thank you!! I hate my voice. It's neither commanding nor versatile. Thank you for giving me some confidence there. The Goldwing RULES for the smoothest (and quietest) ride, but so many other bikes are fun in their own ways. When it comes to long trips though (going to the Million Dollar Highway and back overnight was 9 hours each way), I'll use the Wing.
She's a beauty! I just bought an 08 with low miles in pristine condition and couldn't be happier. I started posting a few videos showing her off. I love this bike
Aww, thanks! I'm releasing an NC750X video tomorrow, but it has the wing on the Million dollar Highway for the intro. My wing may have had more wind protection, but yours has a 6th gear (and a 7th if DCT). I was always looking for 6th.
@@lornarutkowsky1307 I wish I still had it, as it was the most comfortable machine I've ever had. Some of that was the back rest and raised bars. Still, when I sit on the next generation, the seat doesn't cut it, the fairing doesn't block as much wind, and the plastic all looks cheaper then what I had. I don't do long trips though, and smaller bikes are more fun to ride on shorter rides.
@@LornaRutkowsky No. I traded it to get my wife a bike. I had two other bikes at the time. It had 108k on it, figured I'd get something out of it before I couldn't trade it in. Of all the bikes I've had though, I miss the 2014 Valkyrie the most, the GL1800C. All the bull power of the wing (better than horsepower), only 3/4 the weight. The rear wheel would break loose at green lights. It was fun. Still not nearly as comfortable as the full size wing, but more manageable in parking lot maneuvers.
I sold the Gold wing, and I sometimes regret it. I've gone for more lightweight adventure bikes now, and no longer shy away from long gravel roads leading off into the horizon. The Goldwing required very little servicing. I changed the oil myself at a cost of $40, and the shaft fluid is easy also. The highest cost was tires, as well as the AIR cleaner change. I didn't do either of those myself.
Great video and enjoyed watching. I'm planning to upgrade from Triumph Bonneville T100 to GW. Just worried about the weight. I have been riding for more than 10 years. Let me know your thoughts as I saw in another video you owned T100
The weight is night and day, but so is the amount of all-day comfort. Get the backrest and put on some highway pegs, and you can ride all day. There are two ways the T100 is better though; high winds don't even budge a T100 because they flow THROUGH it. Winds can tip a wing pretty good. Also, A T-100 is really easy in a cramped parking lot. If the Wing isn't moving fast enough, she gets tippy. Use the rear brake in parking lots, not the aggressive front brake. The wing is WAY better at high speeds than the T100, and better on cold days too.
Great review there, i own an 2002 wing, and love it,, not much different to yours really,, with 30k mls on it she runs sweet.it’s tru imho the pre 2018 are far more comfortable, better wind protection and storage is bigger too. The headlights are awsome at night.🇬🇧👍
The 2021 now has a larger trunk and as for the windshield you can buy an after market F4Customs windshield that is much wider & taller. You can also get the deflectors like Marshall has on his 2014. I own a 2012 but I got this information from watching 100's of Goldwing videos like the ones from Cruiseman's Garage and Chris Caliente.
@@henryhonda8408 yeah the new ones are nice. It's all personal preference. I myself have a 1st Gen 1800 and love it. I don't want to buy a new goldwing then have to buy a bigger windscreen and add wind deflection. I like 2001-2017. Those are the best 1800s.
Nice Review! I have the F6b suited better for taller riders as you mention that the wing is not favorable riders over 6 Feet. The Pouder River seemed very Calming. Thanks for the review.
Hi Marshall. May I ask what Hwy Pegs you have installed? I’m looking for a set and I like how yours tuck out of the way. They also look easy to adjust. Thank you!
The air filter isn't any fun to change. I don't know if the new generation has timing belts, the last had chains. I sold mine at 108k miles, running strong.
ive had 10 Harleys. im done. always breaking down vibration short life dealership sucks cost in a range of a Porsche I bought a 2016 F6B. 10 hrs first run I couldn't do 2 hrs on my haerleys. harley really is a dream a bad dream. wake up
I miss my Goldwing. Never once did I ride a Streetglide and consider getting one over the Wing. It felt like I was back in time 40 years. I want a new wing, but without the top case. I think the F6B style looks so much better!
I am a Winger for life just did 48 states in 10 days 9,433 miles couldn’t imagine doing on anything else WINGS RULE 👍🏿💯
Great video, including your explanations and comments, about riding and enjoying this generation of Goldwing!

I have a 2016 ABS Nav totally decked out and it’s awesome. My first wing a a 2006 that I put 104k miles on it in z9 years
Good review, I just bought a 2010 GL1800 comfort/audio, I usually ride up the Big Thompson to Estes. I'm looking forward to some long trips this year.
Brilliant review 👌
Thank you. I currently have another one, a 2017.
Man, you certainly do a good job! Thank you.
Thank you! I try to get something right in life.
Beautiful bike. I got the 2022 DCT Tour but I still lust after the 2013 to 2017 Goldwings. I'm jealous of where you live too.

Love your work and your bike. Have you got a vid on your running costs/servicing.

They are Kuryakyn, but I don't recall the exact model, I'm sorry!
@@ridingwithmarshall …. Hey no worries. I appreciate the quick reply. I will search around. Thanks again!
Great Vid! How many miles with one tank?
I've gotten 220, riding on fumes. 200 is a reasonable number.
Fabulous scenery Marshall and Amen to getting rid of this Covid shite.
Goldwings have timing belts that have to be changed. $$$ and that air filter design 😮
