- Hello all. Thanks for visiting my channel.
Follow me in this video and have a look at my new tent (Durston X-Mid 2 Solid) and also enjoy the sites of the peak district and the beautiful sunset.
This video is a little different from usual, as I won't have voice audio, but instead it will be subtitled. I hope you enjoy this relaxing style.
I enjoyed my outing and also the morning plunged in the waterfall. The tent was very sturdy and durable and I am looking forward to more adventures with it.

Hey Dan @durstongear I am so elevated that you have commented on my video. Thank you so much. 😊 I think you must be the no1 responder in the world because I see your comments everywhere. What a top bloke ✌🏻😀👌
Thank you brother, greetings from Austin Texas!
Nice relaxing video, I love my Durston X-mid 2 solid, extremely roomy, even for 2 people, I'm getting a bit old now to be crouching and crawling into 1 man coffins like my old force ten helium 100....and the x-mid is lighter too. Good to see some grounding going on 👍🏻 nice video 👌🏻
Thank you trooperwolfie 🙏🏻
My MSR Hubba Hubba is a pain for the crouching. I love this tent so much for its roominess too. I bought a crazy creek folding seat and it’s wonderful sitting on the doorway with it.
And a bit of grounding is always good for us outdoor folk. It’s needed 😄
Thank you again for the feedback and happy adventures 😊
Love it mate the tent looks brilliant
Thanks brother!
pure bliss
☺️✌🏻
Great video very relaxing watch!
Thank you very much. I appreciate your feedback a lot 😊✌🏻
Proper sunset that 👌👌
Yes…ai am so lucky. The last 3 times I have been up it has been the same 😎
@@chrisdruryno1 spoilt for choice up there for a good sunset, hopefully summer turns up soon and we get more nights like it 🌅
Oh tell me about it! I hope so because side this year has to be one of. the glummest ones I have seen. It’s wet and miserable 90% of the time. We need more sunshine!! 🙄
Great video, loved the review (picking one up!)! New subscriber, keep it up!
Awesome, thank you! 🙏🏻 😀 I appreciate it! You’ll love the tent ⛺️
Hi, my tip is to undo the snap clips by the zips because, when you step through to try to extend the pole, you catch the clip and rip it out….. guess how I know? What a great first pitch.
Oh no you ripped the rent yourself! Wow…ai think I will not try that going forward. How gutted you must be 😫
Just subbed Chris, nice watch 👍. i can see you are making an effort to stay lightweight so here's a recommendation . That reflective mat you are using is what i used for a few years but Wild Sky do a lighter more robust one thats well worth buying and its a bit more robust and packs well too 😉
Ohh thank you 🤩 the one I am using looks like it might be getting worn. It is such a good idea to have one but having something more robust sounds good. I will definitely check the Wild Sky one out. Thank you ☺️
Very nice video! I just purchased the tent and am getting really stoked. What chair did you set up?
Nice vlog sir.👍👍 Keep it up😁
Hey! Thank you. I am very grateful for you comment 🙏🏻😊
Subbed great video mate.
Thank you mate. I will return the sub too 😁
Did you know staring at the sun especially at sundown is good for you. The Durston site says their tents are 'storm worthy'. Are they?
Thinking of getting one.
How long did it take for yours to arrive?
Hey buddy. I remember hearing something about starting at the sun at sunset…or slightly just off centre. Joseph Campbell Archives Lecture said something about it 😅 I will have to do some research.
And yes…storm worthy indeed. I have a MSR Hubba Hubba NX and it is so much more sturdier. Honestly it’s great in the wind and very waterproof too. A better tent In Comparison. Only difference is the pitch choice. You need to make good choices to pitch. A freestanding tent is much easier to pitch and set. The Durston does need flat ground for the tent to pitch correctly and effectively…otherwise one side may be close to the floor and the other too high. This can cause consensation issues. The trick is to loosen off all guides at the first stage so when lifted with the poles, you have gaps for airflow under the tent. Saying that, inside, you are very protected against wind and cold 👌
Go get one. Took about week and half to get mine and well worth the wait. For British weather it’s really quite amazing
Nice tent! How long was the delivery from Canada?
Hey! It took about 9 days I think. Not long at all. It get’s held up at customs for a couple days before Royal Mail gets it. So it is pretty sharpish. Well worth the cost of tax and customs and delivery. Around £400 total
Another silent video, pointless
Sorry it wasn’t to your liking @bernardscott1783 it was my first one in my playlist. I aim to get some more commentary in going forward 😊
Nothing wrong with letting the scenery etc do the talking now and again. I’m fine either way but some people find the silent videos relaxing
@@chrisdruryno1I’m fine with the silent videos! They can help the immersion factor - really lets the viewer enjoy the beauty of the scene.
Hi mate, very delightful video indeed.
I have very similar gear and bought the exact same tent at around the exact same time and did the exact same camp 😎
Hey buddy. Thank you that means a lot.
How have you found the tent? I personally love it!
Great minds think alike 😜
@@chrisdruryno1 awesome tent for sure, just a shame about the perfectly flat pitch it needs
You know what…that’s it…literally the only gripe. The inner walls can end up touching and causing condensation. One thing that helps me is to have the bottom guidelines out to maximum when pegging, so that when I extend the poles, it raises the floor as much as possible. It can help. I may change the short guides out for a couple more inches to allow further raising of the poles. Hopefully giving more leeway and a tighter spaced inner pitch.
