Thanks for a good review. Do you know, is the sport rear differential useful in mud and sand and dirt as in off road, and in dealing with slippery snow and ice, in other words will the power be shifted left to right to deal with that kind of slip versus grip? Or is it really only useful to assist with speed turns on roads? Other? Thanks.

Yes it will help in all cases and you have driving modes to help with specific road conditions.

Memo to Audi: Hate to break the news to you but the demographic of people that can afford this level of vehicle aren't necessarily into 23 inch wheels. It would be nice to have tires that last more than 10K miles. And wheels that have a chance surviving in urban roads. They will never last in an urban area like Houston where I live. I'll take a Q8 with the SQ8 engine.

@@brianbarbe9646 from my experience with 22inch wheels it’s not bad but the ride quality isn’t as good as a smaller wheel and shopping around I found tires that last a lot more but the dealership doesn’t stock them. Which makes me order them though a tire company and mail them to the dealership to install. Long story short smaller wheels is the way to go but you can make it work just it’s more work 😁.

@@HawkeyeRides I guess my point is when you are spending this much money, why do we have to do this? Does the market really demand these oversized wheels or do the manufacturers just assume this is what we want? Nice to see a young guy like you think my way! Sometime I just think because I am 72 somehow I am out of touch. I can afford a car like this, but I don't want rough riding tires and after spending this much up front I don't want to be buying tires every 15K miles.

@brianbarbe9646 I hate the bill too but the family loves the look. If I could do it over I would’ve changed the wheels or maybe the vehicle.

Agree that if you drive the SQ8 first, you will likely not be satisfied with the V6 in the Q8. Totally different drive.

I've had the S in 5 and 6 series. Now I'm older and still love the HP, I don't find it necessary. The 3.0 is quick enough for all my need. My husband tells me most of my horses stand around bored lol. This is an amazing car.

You guys are funny 🤣, when my wife drives my sports car she can only drive it in sports mode. I have found I can now drive with or without it lol but I love the extra hp it makes the drive exciting 👍

Another question. I am considering the fully loaded Q8 or SQ8, 2024 or possibly waiting for the 2025. Living in mountainy ski country, with its often rougher roads and poor weather conditions, I would greatly prefer the thickest rubber possible, in other words getting the 20" wheel instead of the 22" wheel or 23" wheel on a fully loaded Q8 or SQ8. The SQ8 starts at 22". The Q8 base model starts at 20", quickly goes to 21", and if I add the Black Optics and S-Line packages to either the Premier Plus or Prestige packages I am forced into the 22" from the factory. I'd prefer 21" wheels over 22" or 23"rs, but would prefer 20" wheels most of all. Here's my question: Can I switch out the 22" (or the 23") wheel for the 20" wheel after market with either or both? Will the same size brakes still work or will those have to be changed? And if I do get the smaller 21" or even better 20" wheels after market, can whatever needs adjusting be adjusted so that all the data like mpg, mph, distance travelled and such will still be accurate? Thanks.

Before going aftermarket I would test drive one with the bigger wheels. You can do aftermarket work but from experience it’s becoming harder and more than likely the braking system will have to change which isn’t a good idea because of the extra curb weight of the sq8. I would recommend sticking with the 21 inch, you will have to call or work with a dealership but I’m sure they will switch them out and I would work a deal to get both sets and sell the larger wheels online. I did this on my last suv and made some extra money.

Great review Anthony. This is the first review I've seen of a Q8. In fact it's the first time I've heard of it and all I have to say is wow! The SQ8 would have to be the choice just for that exhaust note alone lol! That is a big SUV for sure and it would be on my short list of post lottery winning purchases 😁Happy Friday to you! It cooled a bit here which was nice and I'm generally good as long as we are below 100. I hope that you are doing great and enjoy the weekend!

The Q8 are nice but I would go for the sq8 or the RSQ8 with the extra power 😁. The only problem is they drink a lot of gas so they would be great lotto winners lol.
Yesterday it was 107 but today I was inside editing with a/c 😎. That’s good it cooled down for you guys, we are not seeing too much of a change for this week. Just keep hydrated and cool, happy Friday James
