Honour to Pastor Shane Willard for showing us amazing new ways to look at the Bible and the story of Jesus! Honour to Pastor Tony Sawrey for being a humble and active host! And above all, all glory to Jesus, may we love each other as He has calle dus to!
Wow! Just introduced to you both in this Video. What a breath of Fresh Air. THANK YOU and God Bless you Brother #ShaneWillard, and Brother #TonySawry for making this available for us to see. Blessings. Leila and Ronald.🙏🙏🕊🕊🙏🙏
10:51 - SHANE - "I've never met someone yet that was rejecting Jesus.". JESUS - "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you." - John 15:18
22:28 SHANE - "that's true unless you picture a courtroom official who's deciding...right or wrong...". SCRIPTURE - "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil." - 2 Corinthians 5:10
My brother, peace be between us in this conversation. Let all who look in see the Christ that holds us all together by love! Shane talks about the Ancient Hebrew word for judge, “shophet”, which translates to “one that is fully anointed by God to set us free”. Judges in the Bible were not courtroom officials, they were defenders of people, and we know this because there’s an entire Book, the Book of Judges, where nobody in the book is a courtroom official! Furthermore, I love that you quote Paul, he’s also one of my favourite disciples! Paul does say that we will sit in the judgement seat of Christ, but in Romans, he goes on a list about what Christ is like, and he eloquently says, ““Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Romans 8:34 NIV Just to expand thinking a little more on the 2 Corinthians 5:10 passage, we should take the entirety of 2 Corinthians 5 into account as well! Paul does talk about living away from the body (I like to interpret this as being comfortable in our own ways) instead of following the ways that Christ has called us to. Further on in to the passage: “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 NIV Paul gives us this stunner of a verse! I feel that the overarching story in 2 Corinthians 5 is the battle between comfort and being uncomfortable for God, before remembering that God Himself does not hold our sins against us, and we are free to do what is good by loving God’s people the way Christ did! Peace be with you brother, let nothing I say be a stumbling block between YOUR journey with Christ! I hope I was able to perhaps give you some food to wrestle with 😊
@@shaunh1725 Thanks for your reply. Words have ranges of meaning. For example Psa 9:19 - Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. Are we supposed to think that in this Psalm David is pleading for God to defend the wicked heathen? There is truth in what Shane says as there is any false teaching. But to pretend as though the Bible doesn't teach God as the standard and enforcer of right and wrong is disingenuous. You are correct that those who are in Christ have an advocate with the Father (1 John) and their sins are covered by the blood so as to escape the just wrath of God against sin. Are you suggesting ALL will be saved from God's wrath and will not face God to give an account? What does the verse I mentioned actually mean?
@@davidcooper1535 My brother, thank you for your reply, you raise a very fair point! It was my wrong to portray the idea of judgement as all-inclusive, as that would make it frivolous and empty. Thank you for pointing out my short-comings, I am humbled. Written by David, a righteous king who is surely tired of wickedness, I've checked the Hebrew and he really does want them "judged" in the context of punishment. I am curious now though, what is your picture of God's Wrath? And if through the blood of Jesus Christ, the sins of the whole world have been covered, then what will God's verdict be when He does judge us?
@@shaunh1725 God's wrath is the expression of His perfect holiness, justice and love. 1 Thess. 1:9-10 9 For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. The blood of Jesus Christ only potentially covers the sins of the whole world. The Bible is clear that only those who apply the blood through faith in Jesus will be saved. In the same way the death angel passed over only those who had the blood on their doorpost in Exodus or only those who looked at the bronze serpent were healed so it is true that salvation is available to all, but not all trust in Jesus. Some trust in themselves. Some reject the truth of the gopsel. Some harden their hearts. Some love their sin and hate the light. Some do not believe. This means that the sentence of death remains on them. While it is Gods desire that none should perish, He allows for people to choose. All of this is in harmony with His love. He is like a judge presiding over the trial of his own son who has committed a horrible crime of rape and murder. If the son is guilty, and the father is a good judge than he will pass a just sentence and still love his son profoundly. The faithfulness of the judge to execute justice is not in any way an "unloving" thing.

SUMMATION OF THE FIRST SECTION: If the world rejects the Christianity you present - you got it wrong. Because no one ever rejects Jesus. If you refer to the Bible to say otherwise you are a "Bible-deist". If you wonder what needs deconstructed about Christianity ask the secular world because it happens to be all the things they don't like about it.
@@daynaperry8832 I welcome your specific feedback. I admit I can be a little cynical and that my three sentence summation is a little brassy. How would you say I misrepresented what He said? Did he ever even hint that you could get Jesus right and still have people reject you or the message?
The problem with most of Christianity today is they don’t understand that there are two fathers spoken of in the Bible. One father is the most high God who Jesus shows us about. The other father is the god of the old Testament - Yahweh. When you understand that Yahweh is NOT the most high God, but rather the one who came to kill, steal, and destroy, everything falls into place and makes sense. Simply become a king and search out this concealed matter. The great deception isn’t something that is yet to happen, but something that has been happening since the beginning of time. The great deceiver has caused the whole world to worship him.

29:30 - The implications of what Shane says here make John the Baptist a false prophet. Seriously think about that for a minute. Jesus says John was the "Elijah" (Mathew 11:14). The fire was the Holy Spirit which Acts tells us appeared as tongues of fire.
