  • Joe finally gets a Victorinox SwissTool MX on the review table. This premium EDC multi tool has tons of tools, all of which lock. The pocket clip and one-hand opening blade mean your favorite tools are more accessible than ever. The mirror finish and snappy lockup let anybody who sees this EDC pocket tool know that you mean business.

    Love the Swisstool! Looks like brick, feels like brick, solid as brick!

    Dont forget about the positive lock of the handle in a perfect 90* angle - comes in handy! Although, this feature is a bit better in the non MX version as you don’t have to worry about the clip mounted in the side and the thumb tab for the knife. I just got mine the other day and I’m loving it

    Nice review Joe! I have the swisstool x, pretty much the same tool, and I added the pocket clip already! You sound much relaxed when reviewing the victorinox compared to leatherman! That speaks volumes! Lol!

      The Arc has been a somewhat stressful experience 😂 I think it helps that a Victorinox has never needed me to “break it in”

      @@inkiron3907 hey how are you and I just got done watching your video and I've been in the market for buying a good multi-tool and I live in Florida and there is major humidity here so I like that the victorinox Swiss tools have a chromium plating on them so my question is do you think the Swiss tool MX clip is the better option than the Swiss tool spirit MX clip? And looking forward to hearing back from you And thank you

    • @clarkkent4608
      @clarkkent4608 8 месяцев назад

      @@inkiron3907 And the other question was do you have a hard time getting the tools out? Because I saw some videos were certain people had a hard time getting the tools out of the victorinox Spirit MX clip as compared to the Leatherman Free P4 and then they said the little bump on the new MX clip series is kind of a hotspot and sometimes hurts or affects you when you're using the knife because of that thumb bump for using the one-handed operation with the new MX series so I was just wondering about that also and looking forward to hearing back from you and thank you

      So would you pick the Swiss tool MX clip over the new Leatherman ARC? For me it's been tough decision and I want to order either one of them but there's been so many different reviews and opinions and it just seems like both are great multi-tools and I would love to be able to try out each of them but unfortunately they're nowhere in the area that I live in to be found so and you're honest opinion which one would you go with for a person that works outside and is a handyman/maintenance technician by trade and is looking for a good multi-tool that has easy access to the tools and doesn't have to worry about it breaking down the road and looking forward to your input and thank you@@inkiron3907

    For the Swisstool, I'd actually get the non clip, non one hand opening model JUST because it interferes with the ruler functionality. And I'd get the one without scissors, because I already have the Spirit MX Clip. I kinda wish it had a bigger pivot in the pliers rather than just being fatter.

      Funny what u say about the scissors, I don’t enjoy small scissors. My favorite tool is my Klein electrician scissors. I guess that is the thing with multitools, most tools r aiming for good. I don’t like multitool pliers, I pick up old American steel pliers at every garage and estate sale. I also have 5 inch knipex. My favorite plier is on my gerber dime which is on my keychain. I love the spring action and precise tip.

      The pocket clip is great if you dont wear a belt to hang the poutch as you can clip direcly to the side hip waist of your trousers.

    Good review! I find that the Swisstool is a tad bulky for pocket carry...I also find that the tab takes away the esthetic look of the blades of both multitools...what do you think? the clip & the tab were created mainly by American customer demand as you probably know...May I suggest that the cuticle pusher of the Vicky minichamp & the Vicky watch back opener(84mm) & possibly the Classic SD as 3 means by which folks can access their tools?

    This is basically the classic Swiss Tool X with a nub on the blade for one-handed opening. I've had the Swiss Tool X for years, and it is easily the best multitool on the market.

      They’re good, definitely not the best. Blade steel is subpar, no removable cutters, no bit driver, and just doesn’t feel beefy. In my experience working on aircraft, the Leatherman Surge is simply unbeatable. Takes a real beating and performs better than pretty much everything else across the board.

    • @Durwood71
      @Durwood71 4 месяца назад +2

      @@braddenr.4778 The Swiss Tool X is plenty beefy. I've used and abused mine for years, and the steel looks as good as the day I got it. There are signs of wear on some of the tools, but it's minor at worst, and there is not a hint of rust.
      I suppose if you value features like quirky flat bits, and cutters that have to be replaced because they break, then Leatherman is the way to go.

    • @braddenr.4778
      @braddenr.4778 4 месяца назад

      @@Durwood71 Let’s be honest here, If it looks as good as the day you bought it after years of use, you aren’t really using it…plain and simple. And quirky flat bits? Negative they work flawlessly and the cutters are fantastic.

      @@braddenr.4778 You have no right to accuse me of being dishonest. Yes, I have used my Swiss Tool X regularly for many years. The reason it still looks new is because Victorinox steel is just that good. Unlike Leatherman steel, it doesn't easily scratch, rust, or lose its shine.
      Look, Leatherman makes good multitools, and I respect the fact that they're (mostly) made in the US, but Victorinox simply makes a better product.

    I believe the difference between the two blades is very comparable to the difference between the main blades on the Pioneer X and the 91mm SAKs. I don’t own either of these model multitools so I may be speaking out of turn. I have the butter knife model Spirit.
