Hi! Good job on getting started! The right hand is doing standard fingerpicking! And the left hand is using bar chords! To be honest if you just started you might want to start with something easier with some open chords like G,Em,C,D and Am. With those chords you can learn a lit if songs and get the basics if guitar down! If you need any help with anything let me know! You can friend me on Facebook and message me! Here’s the link: facebook.com/chris.rastelli.3 And if you have any song requests I’d he happy to make a tutorial for you! Have a great day!
You mean the right hand picking? Usually I teach my kids to train their thumb, index, middle and ring by playing them one after the other on a D chord! I don’t know if that make sense you way I said it! Would you like me to make a video about that?
My standard settings are usually 6/7 on the mids, 5 on the bass and 4 on the treble for the reverb I try not to go overboard with it most of the time I stay under 3 or 4 if not it kind if drowns out the sound unless on a particular song thats what I’m going for... I usually like the mids to be prominent but I’m using a fender hot rod deluxe and those settings might not work for another amp and the guitar also makes a huge difference... If you’re looking to find the tone you like on your amp and guitar the easiest way I find is to turn all the equalization knobs to max and then take a way a bit of each frequency then turn down one frequency to 0 and add it back up until you’re satisfied with that frequency and then do the same for the next one and fine tune the last frequency... At the end of it all tone is more of a personal preference and you just have to find what works for you and your gear! Hope this helps have a great day!
Oh no, I just saw this, hopefully you were able to get it, but for bar chords in general, the best thing you can do is use the side of your index finger to press down (the side closer to your thumb). And also just make sure your thumb is straight on the back of the neck and aligned with your second finger so you can push easier! And last but not least practicing them a little every day is the key! Hopefully that helps, I wish I saw this comment 4 weeks ago... Have a great day!
