Sadly Peter did indeed witness his father's fatal crash and he remembers it vividly to this day. "It was the last lap of the day, and then there was smoke. They tried to hold me back but I could still see him." 😢
Henry Ford created The Ford Motor Company and named his son Edsel. Edsel had his son named after his father, making him Henry Ford II. It's still better then George Forman naming all of his sons George Forman
Here's a not so fun fact, there were a bunch of other famous racing drivers who's names were dropped throughout this movie, however there are three in particular that we actually meet in the movie who shared equally tragic fates as Miles. These three men were Bruce McLaren, Lorenzo Bandini, and Denny Hulme. Denny Hulme, Miles' partner at the 24h of Le Mans itself, died while racing at the Bathurst 1000 when he suffered from a heart attack in 1992. This sucks in particular because the Bathurst 1000 was reportedly one of Hulme's favorite events. Lorenzo Bandini, the Ferrari driver who was driving against Miles at Le Mans, was killed in horrific crash at the 1967 Monaco gp in F1 when his car collided with the barrier at high speeds, flipped then burst into flames while he was still inside. An added fact is that Bandini was actually chasing down Denny Hulme for the win when the accident occurred. And of course there's Bruce McLaren, the winner of the 1966 24h of Le Mans as well as founder and namesake of McLaren. Similar to Miles himself, Bruce McLaren was killed testing one of his own cars, specifically his Can-Am car, the McLaren M8D, in 1970 when the car suffered bodywork damage which caused it to lose a significant amount of downforce towards the end of a long straight and into a highspeed corner causing complete loss of control sending him straight into a track side bunker. Goes to show how dangerous Motorsports were in the 60s and 70s. Also goes to show how far safety has come since then.
I love this movie. It’s probably my favorite racing movie out there. The lemans race is such an interesting event it’s incredible to think it’s been happening for nearly a century. There’s many interesting events and things about the event. I think one of the more interesting occurances was that Porsche would later have a similar success with car that dominated the sports car world the “917” it became so successful that it’s engine was banned by the FIA. Another event in Le Mans history, that is quite tragic would be the 1955 Le Mans Disaster. A crash that led to the death of racer Pierre Levegh, and depending on yours source 80-120 spectators, Mercedes Benz pulling from the competition, and other forms of Motorsports (at least manufacturer sponsored MS) for many years and the crash could have ended Motorsports entirely. Loved the Video!
LeMans is not a race of distance, but of time: Whomever drive's the furthest within 24 hours. This is why the finish was given to MacLaren and not Miles. Its not a technicality, its the mathematics of how the race is calculated. Most races are based on a fixed distance, which is why it feels ODD.
Another racing movie based on a true story to watch: "Race For Glory: Audi vs Lancia". It's also based on a true story and it also has to do with the rivalry between two car brands in racing. It came out just 5 months ago.
One thing watching some of these films with strong ties to reality is man do people suck sometimes, but also there have been some amazing people as well!
Would love to see you react to LAW ABIDING CITIZEN with Gerard Butler and Jaime Foxx. Keeps you thinking right till the end. Vengeance at its best bring your anger
The point of these videos is that it’s mostly talking, its a commentary, if you want to get the movie experience than watch it on your own time. Also i am trying to curse less but also you’re right im grown, which means i can do whatever the fuck i want👍🏽 ill check the audio though because im new to this so thanks for the tip!
@@RebelMedia66 Here's another tip. You only have to stop video enough so as not to get demonitized. You're job, and it is a job, is to entertain your viewers. Not insult them. Don't quit your day job asshole.
the can is too aggressive is probably the best moment in the whole movie, although they wee fighting he still loves him and can't hurt him like that
For sure! The film handled the relationships very well!
Then afterwards Miles' wife offering them sodas and Miles saying Shelby doesn't GET a soda, it's just hilarious. My favorite part of the movie.
@@littlenickelbushfarm9804 that entire scene was cracking me up tbh!
One of few good and genuine reactors in youtube 👍 Subbing for sure

Walt Hansgen from the Daytona Race also died during a practice session in a GT40 MKII in 1966
**Matt Damon is literally on fire
You: Ohhhh Matt Damon IS playing Carol Shelby, that's fire!
Me: ... Really? LMAO

Those cars on the line at the beginning were Ford Falcons
Ken Miles' wife was also a racecar driver

The crazy thing is, Leo never showed any remorse for what he did to Carroll and Ken. Even in his late years. A piece of shit to the end.

If you like this you should watch "Rush"
Try when editing video to not stop the video and remove it from the screen when you talk. See if it gets strikes.
You should watch Hachi one day, completely different type of movie from this.
As in Hachi: A dogs tale?
Yeah. They’re making carolloas in a ford factory 🤦🤦🤦🤦
I just saw cars being made i didnt realize we were in the Ford factory yet, though they were showing us the competition or something😂
First, you talk to much.
Second, can't hear the dialog.
Lastly, stop cursing.
You're not a teenager anymore.
Go run your own channel. It was fine.

If you want to watch the movie without interruptions, go watch the movie. This is a reaction. Just in case you were unsure.
