Halloween was the best back in the 70’s and 80’s…. You had the scary movies and trick or treating going on….. I’m 53 now and to this day it’s my favorite holiday! I still dress up to hand out candy and I take vacation the week of Halloween to watch scary movies….. I can’t break tradition

I used to cut grass for an elderly Jewish lady in around 1980 to 82...It was $10 for only about an hour's worth of work. Loved the older folks...and she'd even give me a couple of beers after I did the job (I was only 16 or so....my attitude was hey, take what you can get). She'd feed me like a king too! Rest in peace Mrs. Dobo. Side note: She escaped from Auschwitz. She showed me her tattoo once. She WAS the REAL deal.
I agree. Halloween during the 70's&80's were the best. Around 60 to 70 kids would come to our house for treats every Halloween. Now, you're lucky to get 10 kids.🎃

Golden era of television... remember all of this; ads and all...ad/commercial executives earned every cent of their money back then because they were geniuses...70's, 80's, and 90's were the best years for commercials ever made in history.

Maybe my math's off but I was born 9-3-64 and turned 13 in 77. Just turned 60 last September. Oh well, good times those years, even had access to an IBM 370 at OC College. The system administrator let me and my friend use the terminals during off class hours if we got a passing grade on an APL course. What a first dive into the wonderful world of computing. We even talked about putting together a Fat Albert text adventure--
I'll 51 tomorrow.. I've told my daughter that I had to have my rear end in front of the TV if I wanted to see these shows back then. We didn't have a VCR until about '83 or '84, and there was no Cartoon Network, DVD's, RUclips, streaming, etc., etc.,... Miss it? Try again next year.
Dang man, the background art is so rich in detail, and the layering effects so innovative. Especially for television. It really does sell the feeling of a dense city. Awesome work.

I remember watching this at some point when I was a kid. Glad the commercials were left in, it was fun to see a commercial with Star Wars in it since it had just come out about 5 months prior.

My late father grew up with this cartoon when the DVDs released around 2004 when I was in fifth grade my dad introduced me to this and I'm glad he did now I'm 30 studying broadcasting and hope to be writing shows and stories

I used to have this taped off of cable in the '80s. I remember the credits had a voiceover from Cosby saying that this was special was produced when trick-or-treating at strangers' homes was safe, but that was now no longer the case. Anybody else remember that?
I'm 56 and I remember how fun Halloween was in the 70's ,we had a great time with all the activities in school and films and stories, it was the best time in those days.

I'm 56 and I remember how fun Halloween was in the 70's ,we had a great time with all the activities in school and films and stories, it was the best time in those days.
I'm the same age as you so I know what you mean. We didn't mind those cheap plastic masks. It was only one night so no big deal

I was 15 when this first aired on TV. I didn’t go trick or treating anymore, but I sure still loved watching the cartoons. This brings back memories. Thanks for posting.
