No, real one also included dehydrated soup (most often pea soup), coffee, fat/butter and hardtacks. Note that this is only for emergency where they have gone 24h without eating. A normal german soldier diet consist of much more and varied alot
Thats a late war lable . They stopped specifiying what kind of meat was in the can , to save on production costs and for simplicity . It was pretty random for the soldier , it could have been beef , pork , or chicken , because they were all labled the same .
This is based on the contents of the Halbeiserne Portion. The quantities (weights) are not correct, but the general contents are given the amount of variation that existed. The packaging of the contents did not seem to be uniform in WW2, however the packaging here is not convincing - The paper is bleached and the tin is not of the type that was used in WW2. I recommend the book 'Rations of the German Wehrmacht in WW2' as a reputable source rather than people's youtube comments like this one.
Crispbread and a can of meat $2, hope you didn't get ripped off!
If this was a "half iron ration", no wonder they lost the war.

To be more precise, isn't this the Half Iron Ration ?
Excellent again really enjoyed it
You showed us only 1/3 of the iron ration. I hope you didn’t paid to much

Hi, is there any evidence of similar ration existing or is it just how probably it could look like?
