Will Smith stars in this moving tale inspired by the true story of Chris Gardner, a San Francisco salesman struggling to build a future for himself and his 5-year-old son Christopher (Jaden Smith). When his girlfriend Linda (Thandie Newton) walks out, Chris is left to raise Christopher (Jaden Smith) on his own. Chris' determination finally pays off when he lands an unpaid internship in a brutally competitive stockbroker-training program, where only one in twenty interns will make the cut. But without a salary, Chris and his son are evicted from their apartment and are forced to sleep on the streets, in homeless shelters, and even behind the locked doors of a metro station bathroom. With self-confidence and the love and trust of his son, Chris Gardner rises above his obstacles to become a Wall Street legend.

It is truly hard being an outbound caller and even harder in those days rather than the present.
It’s harder now…especially now…more faces in the crowd than before, sometimes talent and grit loses out to who got there first.
Nah the way people treat a random unknown caller has absolutely gotten brutally worse in the modern age. People treat you so awful it’s crazy
Jfc fucking boomers 🤡
@onlimeninja2144 It's not crazy; there are too many people taking those jobs that are terrible at them. My family is Indian, and we grew up with telemarketers butchering our name 90% of the time, and not showing any interest in saying it correctly. Why would I want to do business with ANYONE like that?
The root of the issue is that a lot of those people are uneducated; never exposed to anything beyond common Christian names like John or Bob.
Outbound seller is way worse now. Because nobody wants to even pick up the phone these days.
He's asking Chris because he's the most helpful, and probably his favorite. And he most likely only know his name.
really interesting
The "Walter Ribbon" story is nice, but wish they had his real break that catapulted his commissions: the oil tycoon. He'd start off each call with a racist joke and Chris made light of it during a keynote once. The video is on RUclips here and its a worthwhile watch.
Will slaps his way up. All the way to the Oscars.
That's me all those busses and was homeless kids in foster care
How all is well now?
I was working a bad hard labor job a few months ago and at some point to try to save money I was waking up extra early and taking 3 buses to get to work, I’ll wait for my last bus for an hour sometimes and then when I got out at night I would skate 1-2 hours to go home, even going across two mini freeway bridges along the way, I recently got a new better job with less labor and more money so I’m hoping to get my motorcycle and my own place now (:
Congrats!!! Keep on it
@@CursedSniper thank you!!
Esse filme é muito legal ❤
0:04 That's Homer Simpson. Dan Castellaneta
Has to be one of the most random castings ever, lol. I'll bet 99% can't think of a single role off the top of their head he's known for other than Homer Simpson. At least H. Jon Benjamin has played some semi-prominent live action roles, and he looks absolutely nothing like Archer or Bob.
i see that's why he want some donuts
He is still in pursuit of happiness
0:26
Ironic, the actor who plays the voice of Homer Simpson is asking for a donut...
I have a theory that he only picks on Chris for these small tasks as a method of testing his patience and to see if he's as worthy as he says he is. Probably because he remembers his name the most. But I think he left an impression after the interview that made him look into him more. Either way, he could have been ordered to do so from the board to observe him more than the other interns. There's a lot of room for interpretation.
See how there is a light at the end of the tunnel? Nowadays, you have no idea if you are working your ass off for a piece of shit that will NEVER allow you to "work your way up". The ideas in this movie are long dead
Sad
How did you uploaded this video without copyright claim I tried but no way
You’re a hero
He kicks up to Sony
Sony aint got a thing on this guy
Definitely a product of its time, a real crowdpleaser in my opinion, but no one would make a film where the Wall Street guy is the protagonist today.
In the end he slap his way in .
You're so not funny.....like at all
I slap well deserved!!
Big Willy should have gone Oscar Style.. handing Out some Rico charges right Up to the top.. 🎉
What are you i need water during work
Did what was asked of him and work his a** off, and that landed him a great job.
No matter what you should be able to drink water and go to the bathroom. It seems like they weren’t getting paid for this work too.
@@joshualane1716 it was an internship, then he got hired.
@@oSTYNCLSYo six months no pay is fucking crazy. An amazing story ethic for him, but we should not support companies to put people through this.
The only thing this clip teaches you is that you may have to take shortcuts in life to get ahead. 98% of the time actually
I thought this movie was "The Rat Race"
What the heck did he sell?
Stock shares.
The beautiful story of how a man conned clients into buying stock and got rich off it. Brings a tear to the eye
That's Wolf of Wall Street buddy
Buddy that's my story now. I got a 3rd baby coming. If y'all want to be gullible and throw money and dumb stuff. So be it. I need to feed my family as an accountant.
@have you considered moving to a different country where there's less tax to pay?
And who would have ever guessed that both father and son would become homosexuals.
What kind of shit office doesn't have coffee?
Very unhealthy behavior...heart disease on the rise
Did what he had to do to feed his child lol
Spoiler
I'm sure after he got the job he relaxed a little took care of his body more
He was practically living on the streets. This is a desperate man’s hustle.
Yeah, you are correct but it's like telling a poor single mother without a support network that buying fast food 3 times a week is bad for her children's development, she knows and she suffers but it's not as bad as not eating, being evicted, or not having heat during winter
without trying to be a as$holle did he not cheat to get that gig? idk js
If you aren't cheating you aren't trying hard enough
Where in the movie is it implied that they had to start from the bottom of the call sheet? Unless stated, you can't infer that he "cheated", instead he gambled and it paid off.
It's pretty pathetic and says a lot about the mass psychosis in society to even consider equating this bs with happiness.
I think you mean Happyness
It's just a stepping stone to better things. We all have to pay our dues to get ahead
@ichaffee1 Thats even more pathetic
@@josephsellers5978 yes it is, but what alternatives do you propose? Exactly, thats life
@9OO. Thats not life, it's an imposed will, and I propose we impose our will and do it differently. This isn't rocket science.
That’s racist, bad employer
Well he’s obviously the fastest so I’d pick him to get me stuff too
Really? You can confirm that the employer did this to only him?
You realize he's an intern right? All you're seeing is his skin color, take a break from the Internet
@@dingusbingus7463Being it’s a movie, it’s also all for dramatic affect. In real life though, they could be doing something like that to test someone they are already wanting to move up.
@@dingusbingus7463ignore him bro, he’s what’s wrong with the world. Blind asf
If I watch on 4x speed, it will only last 30 minutes. The perfect amount of time this movie should last.
