Wow! Cynthia Watros was such a perfect villain! Annie was never the same when she became crazy and I loved it! I am not sure an other actress could have made me root for Annie the way she did
But you need a Josh and Reva for the Annie stories to work. This whole story worked because Cynthia Waltros was AMAZING but also because to the strong connection between Reva and Josh a supercouple.
annie was a great villianess, at first she was nice and sweet and then she went stone cold crazy on reva. this is the first time i have ever seen reva have to fight really hard. she almost did not make it. for that you have to give annie credit.
I watched GUIDING LIGHT from 1981 until its cancellation in Sept 2009. I must be a GLutton for punishment because of all the characters I loved & would run home from school & later, work, to see--Phillip & Beth, Lujack & Beth, Tony & Annabelle Reardon, Roger & Holly, Richard & Cassie--only Roger & Holly seemed to have the [albeit sometimes twisted, in Roger & Holly's case] longevity that Josh & Reva had in that both couples were long-time characters in Springfield & both couples were played by the same actors [with one significant unforgivable error in MZ's case] until the end of the show. I watch this Josh & Reva scene & I know it has been 5 yrs since GUIDING LIGHT was cancelled, but holy Christ, the unspoken tenderness between Robert Newman & Kim Zimmer's "Jeva" reduces me to a sniffling, sobbing heap of leaking snot in seconds every f--king time. [Kim Zimmer deserved all the Emmys she won, but why Robert Newman was never nominated or had the chance to win is beyond my comprehension. The "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" story should have snagged him Emmy #1; Josh Returns #2; Reva's Postpartum Psychosis #3 the Reva's Menopausal [Or Is She?] is another...] I realize that I'm rambling [incoherence is one of my strengths] but I really think Josh & Reva were great together. I had ordered Reva Shayne DVDs before Amazon discontinued it but I read somewhere that Josh & Reva scenes were not featured prominently. In a dream world, I would love to own all of GUIDING LIGHT's Josh & Reva scenes on DVD but I know that is non-existent now. Oh, well--I have the entire Lujack & Beth story on VHS [twice--25 months of Pam Long's best work, in my humble opinion] I have Roger Thorpe's Scandal Years [which is very difficult to watch now] plus Michael Zaslow's memoir "I'm Not That Man Anymore" and 100 hrs of GL's Richard & Cassie story on VHS. Who knows if Amazon or CBS will re-acquire the rights to Procter & Gamble's cancelled soaps? I'd love to have just the Josh & Reva scenes from their initial meeting in 1983 until GL's cancellation because like Lujack & Beth, I really loved their chemistry.
Josh: "Nothing will ever come between us again..."
Yeah right. lol
Two words: San Cristobal.
Glad they got back together in the final.
Kim and Robert were great together

I wish they would stop remodeling Cross Creek. This one is better than the updated one.
I don't know if I hate Josh and Reva, but I agree Annie characters give soaps their power.
LOL, you really don't like Josh and Reva do you? ;-)
