    Regarding “brotherhood drama“ question. The first thing Dom said, was addressing mentality and mindset in order to put a frame around how to think about taking action a midst and organized external threat. A non-soldier never gets regular or structured learning about where to put your focus on purpose by choice in an emergency. Your body is pumping adrenaline and you’re gonna go hysterical. Thinking will stop.… Unless you train. To begin with that could start like thinking in advance, learning from real soldier stories, and in a common environment understanding why you’re taking the actions that are effective, and why you’re not taking the actions that get you killed. Don said this…. In not so many words.

    Tony Blauer is a good man! I received some training from him while in the Army and got to experience his SPEAR system and high gear suit back when it was new[er]. While it was "fun", it was also a wakeup for just how gnarly a close contact fight or scramble for a weapon could be. The ability to go almost 100% full contact and not get destroyed in the process really makes it a great learning tool.
    Thanks for the vid, Dom and co. Good stuff.

    On a side note- Some newer cars have laminated glass for the front driver and passenger door windows, as opposed to tempered glass. Laminated glass is what your front windshield is made of and will cut the hell out of you if broken, it breaks in long jagged pieces. Tempered glass is considered safety glass which breaks into a million little pieces when broke. So know whats on your vehicle.

    If China was to invade my country (Canada), how would that happen and what would be the best course of action for myself (a capable 35 year old with plenty of ammo, but also a single dad with a 12 y/o and a 4y/o). Also note, Canada has lots of wilderness and I'm very capable of living off grid.

      Legalese. Ironclad is large enough that they have smart lawyers advising them to protect themselves against losing their asses.
      Stupid people are gonna stupid. At least with this Ironclad has plausible deniability. It's a ridiculous paradigm for a litigious society.

    Question: How would you prioritize different levels of preparedness for the average Joe? I feel I’m pretty well versed with kit- guns, nods, thermals and supporting equipment as well as training and mindset. If looking cool could keep me and mine going when things go south, I’d be set. But as Andy says, we’re 9 meals removed from things falling apart. The fragility of the power grid here in NC (as we have seen lately) as well as current events has had me thinking about things going south. I feel woefully unprepared with water, emergency food storage, power, comms, and things of that sort. How should I prioritize these things and how much time should I plan on going without the grocery store when there’s no more food on the shelves?

    • @0num4
      @0num4 2 месяца назад +1

      The fact that you're at all versed in training, equipment, etc., means you're not the average Joe. Don't rest on your laurels, but also give yourself some credit for being ahead of the preparedness curve! The everyday citizen isn't going to have a modicum of knowledge in multiple areas such as you, likely only 1 or 2 at best.

    • @northsky5629
      @northsky5629 2 месяца назад +1

      Live your life, Im prepared to a point. I'm not going to live my life like the apocalypse is coming tomorrow. The chances of anything happening are extremely small. You'll die of old age with nothing happening, dont miss out on life

    • @cracksmokeactual1931
      @cracksmokeactual1931 2 месяца назад

      @@northsky5629 I hear what you’re saying, but I certainly don’t get hung up on it. All the kit I have now started with a hobby and enjoying it, which I still do. I’m not about to do the full prepper thing because I just don’t have the time. The cool thing about emergency food storage and things of that nature is I can buy it and forget about it and live my life. I want to be prepared but I definitely don’t get absorbed in the stuff- I guess that’s what I meant by being an average Joe. I’d much rather have it and never use it than have my life be a lot harder if something does get weird.

    I’ve started to take a play outta these idiot children’s book these days and pretend like I’m totally focused on my phone with zero situational awareness while opening doors I know are incorrect. Very easy to play off and still get eyes on quickly and possibly take video. Just eyes directly back to the phone in your hand
